From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

Chapter 129: Chapter 67: Hot Commodity Scrap

But purchasing second-hand energy blocks... Su Jiameng furrowed her brows in worry. Although she knew how to maximize the energy of second-hand energy blocks, the technology for it didn’t exist in this era, and there were many challenges to overcome.

She was just a commoner without power or influence, already behaving quite audaciously. If she ventured into the highly profitable area of second-hand energy blocks, she would undoubtedly attract the attention of some greedy opportunists or Alliance bigwigs.

She had promised Li You to keep a low profile, and she didn’t want to break her vow so soon! Besides, her current life was pretty good, and she wasn’t lacking in credit points, so there was no need to become obsessed with amassing wealth like someone who had never seen credit points before...

Su Jiameng was very clear about what she wanted, as well as her current situation; some areas were not for her to venture into. At least the highly profitable market of second-hand energy blocks was one she couldn’t touch too much, and that technology definitely shouldn’t reappear in the human world.

If someday in the future someone could overcome the technical challenges, she might consider offering the technology to K3 for collaboration. By then, she would be an adult, and K3 would also be a mature-minded adult. If their friendship persisted until then, it would mean that the other person was reliable, and revealing some cards wouldn’t be harmful.

From her observations, K3 seemed to come from an aristocratic family with a strong background. Even if he wasn’t, based on his own talent and effort, he could achieve a respectable position in the Alliance military, making the risk of venturing into this field very low.

Thinking about it, Su Jiameng temporarily set these thoughts aside. She chuckled bitterly to herself, realizing that if she were still the Alliance Lieutenant General she was in her past life, she could use this technology to pave a career path, with no harm in revealing it.

Many of these issues got solved in a brief discussion among the three of them. K3 and Lucy, seeing it was getting late and considering dorm curfews, could only bid farewell regrettably. Of course, before leaving, they packed up the midnight snacks prepared by Su Mo, carrying them off in huge bags, as if they were planning to empty Su Jiameng’s kitchen.

Returning to school, K3 and Lucy parted ways and went back to their respective dorm rooms. Based on their family backgrounds, getting a single room wouldn’t have been a problem. But sticking to the principle of keeping a low profile, they both lived in double occupancy, with frequent visits from schoolmates.

Unsurprisingly, as they enjoyed their delicious snacks, they got waylaid by roommates and visiting mates.

”Senior Qin, where did you buy these things? They taste even better than those in five-star or six-star hotels.” A fresh-faced and neat youth sat in the dormitory’s small living room, still holding a piece of uneaten pastry.

”They were given by the team buddies,” Qin Mo said, handing the junior a cup of juice, ignoring how the guy earlier almost stormed the kitchen like a locust swarm, nearly packed up Su Mo to bring back to the dormitory, with a slight smile on his lips.

”Really?” The youth’s eyes lit up with a bright smile, looking a bit bashful, ”Your buddy must be quite impressive.”

”Yeah, I think so too.” Going to Second-hand Street and finding a core system as good as Su Mo’s was sheer dumb luck, just like stepping into dog crap luck, making him, a student plagued by the cafeteria, wonder how fortunate life can be, ”You have some, I’ll bet Yanjing will be back soon... By the way, are you here for study issues today?”

The youth shook his head, saying, ”I indeed have some questions about studies, but today I came to ask you for the doll we ordered earlier. My sister’s birthday is coming up, and if Su Senior hadn’t helped, I’d have gone gray trying to sort this out...”

Given his sister’s picky and finicky nature, her expectations for gifts were unusually high.

Expensive ones he couldn’t afford, and cheap ones weren’t presentable, so he had to find an alternative path. Thankfully, with Su Senior being skilled at handmade crafts, he finally wouldn’t have to worry about his sister’s birthday gift in two months. As for why he had to prepare it two months in advance...

Actually, he didn’t want this self-torture, prepping so long in advance. But what could he do? His sister was studying on Xilena Planet, while he himself was on Qiming Star, and the cross-planet logistic time was exceedingly long; without preparation in advance, he’d miss the timing.

Though the youth complained about his sister, his eyes were bright, evidently eager to see her joyful reaction upon receiving the gift. Hmph, there’s no way she’ll find a flaw with this year’s present!
