Chapter 135: Chapter 70: Telling Lies [Pink 80+]

Mecha itself is expensive, this is a well-known fact, but only those who have truly worked with mecha know that energy is the primary cost-consuming behemoth. However, mature secondary energy technology has reduced energy costs by so much. When mankind discovers the true function of Ximolai Ore, the cost will drop even further, and the Future Interstellar will usher in a true mecha era!

Although Su Jiameng has a bellyful of knowledge and technology, she cannot speak of it, nor can she use them for personal gain.

Earning Credit Points is important, but it is not as important as her own life, and certainly not as important as the peace that captivates her heart.

According to the technological development of this world, to reach that point without the push of war, it would take at least three to four hundred years! If Su Jiameng were to bring out things from three to four hundred years into the future, it would be all harm and no benefit.

She is a rational person, and also quite selfish. Regardless of whether the current peace is an illusion, she hopes her children can live under peace, even if they become spoiled brats.

No matter what, it’s better than going to the battlefield at a young age and not even bringing back the body. She’s seen too many partings by death and too much of the fading away of youth; it’s already enough!

The calculation formula that Su Jiameng listed unraveled the bottleneck troubling the two. Watching their obsession with research, she thought with some melancholy, if this technology is truly propelled by their hands, she only hopes the time it comes to fruition can be delayed, and delayed again.

”Brother Yives, there’s something difficult to say, but I hope you will consider it.” Su Jiameng began with some difficulty, as if giving a precaution, ”Regarding the issue you researched today, I have also tried it before...”

The moment those words were spoken, Faslo’s eyes widened in shock, but seeing Su Jiameng’s solemn demeanor, he respectfully replied, ”Miss Su, feel free to say whatever you have to, as long as it’s within my capability, I will do my utmost.”

Su Jiameng secretly breathed a sigh of relief and said, ”The issue you are discussing now relates to the core of a certain immature technology.”

Faslo was stunned, not expecting to meet someone researching the same project today. From Su Jiameng’s previously familiar demeanor, she was presumably quite knowledgeable about it, otherwise, how could she grasp what they were talking about in such a short time and respond?

”That thing... how should I put it, it’s a terrifying double-edged sword, and a mishap could lead to disaster. I once calculated its general outcome, and it truly sends chills down one’s spine.” Something that can easily provoke war, how could it not be terrifying?

Su Jiameng continued, ”If Brother Yives touches its surface, you can continue your research, but the research results must not be disseminated, and those who know of its existence must be trustworthy, tight-lipped individuals.”

Faslo and Snow’s research on the issue was more of a passing interest, those puzzling problems fascinated them, and since it wasn’t their profession, it was something they brought up and researched when they had nothing better to do...

However, seeing Su Jiameng’s expression, it seemed that this technology was very significant, and misusing it could lead to great trouble.

It’s human nature; the more you tell someone not to do something, the more they want to do the opposite. While Faslo wouldn’t stubbornly insist, Su Jiameng’s words piqued his interest in the research even more, but he wanted to clarify some things, ”Miss Su, do you already know this technology’s... complete appearance? Produced research results?”

There’s no way Su Jiameng could answer ”yes” to that, so she naturally shook her head in denial, ”No, there’s only a preliminary research result, and I dare not delve further. On one hand, it’s due to conditions and technological constraints, and on the other hand, I fear it would disrupt the current situation.”

”Is it... really that terrifying?” Snow, who had been serious and silent, spoke up, ”Miss Su seems to be very secretive about it.”

”Kind of, in short, this is not the right time for it to come into being, it’s inevitable that it will emerge, but it definitely shouldn’t be now.”

Su Jiameng stopped at that and added another sentence, ”As a scientific researcher, besides the spirit of relentless exploration, one should also uphold their own bottom line. My bottom line is this! Every research result is as precious as a child, and to prevent it from perishing and to realize better development, necessary patience and persistence are extremely important... for one’s own good and for the good of others.”
