Surviving The Fourth Calamity

List lowered his head helplessly.

In this world, no one understands Hill better than he does. He knows that when Hill says such words, there is no way to stop him.

He just worriedly asked, ”But, sir.

You must have sensed it, right?

This isn’t the path Mr. Fran once walked.

Although that road was also invaded by darkness, those World Wills weren’t completely unable to resist. Evil couldn’t gain the upper hand, even if it took longer.

And as for why no one helped Teraxil, it’s mainly because when our world faced a crisis back then, others took advantage of the situation... Most of the mages who left were recruited by nearby worlds.

Compared to the mages of our world, who we aren’t sure if they were tempted by evil, those escapees from Teraxil seemed safer in their eyes, so they were indeed offered very favorable conditions.

Clearly intending to go traveling, most were retained in those worlds, completely forgetting Teraxil’s current state.

Didn’t Mr. Fran express disappointment once?

He once thought that those respectable mages from the past would look for ways to save our world after leaving, but it turned out that most forgot the past in better worlds.

The difference between mages and deities is something Mr. Fran also understands. As long as the world isn’t too harsh on its people, mages are the easiest to completely leave their world.

That’s also why most deities don’t like mages, which Mr. Fran realized only after leaving Teraxil.

So he even reconciled with Mr. Draculus!

After all, regardless of his character, he genuinely cares and thinks about Teraxil.

It turns out those who haven’t left are the ones who...

Forget it, let’s not talk about that.

Hill, my dear sir!

You must understand, that within such a not-too-far yet unnoticed vicinity near Teraxil, yet nobody ever noticed, and even when everyone leaves Teraxil, their paths deviate from this direction. What kind of powerful existence can achieve this?

Perhaps even the World Tree hasn’t noticed it!”

However, Hill simply smiled at him.

List just felt like his core was about to ignite.

He sighed helplessly, ”You must seal your pendant, sir. The Nature’s Force from the oak tree is too obvious and can’t be controlled by any means.

The storage ring shouldn’t be made from natural materials either, and Mithril definitely shouldn’t be used recklessly like now.

Low-tier Golems might be okay, but if Purwell is outside, it must have some disguise; souls aren’t that free in the World of Darkness.”

Hill scratched his head, ”I won’t bring Purwell.”

”What?” A little light orb suddenly popped out, ”I’ll be very good this time, I definitely won’t make the same mistakes as in Aesces!”

”You didn’t make any mistakes in Aesces!” Hill looked at Purwell in surprise, ”Why would you think you did something wrong?

Purwell is an excellent driver and has never gotten lost, I’m very satisfied~”

The little light orb of Purwell exploded with a rainbow light, ”Re-really?”

Seeing Hill smile and nod, the happy little whale didn’t forget to ask, ”But why not take me along?

Hill can temporarily seal me, I absolutely trust Hill, you will definitely release me one day.”

Hill smiled gently at the little whale: ”Where I’m going is dangerous, and Purwell heard this, so you just wanted to be of some help, right?

I know, I’m very happy that Purwell loves me so much.”

An Otherworldly Whale is a creature that loves to hide. Its first instinct in the face of danger is to flee.

But knowing full well that a soul-bound creature will die if its host dies, Purwell is still willing to risk his life with Hill. This shows the little whale’s greatest courage.

But how could Hill bring such a little whale to face a life-threatening danger?

He glanced at List: ”Not only you, I can’t even bring List with me.”

”Sir?” List wasn’t expecting this, he couldn’t help but call out.

”I need absolute concealment.

Before confirming the level restrictions of that world, I can’t enter with the identity of a Legendary Mage.

To blend into the crowd, even if not at the bottom, I absolutely can’t be at the top.

The hierarchy is fixed, with its own style. Until I can imitate it fully, I can only stay in between.”

Hill chuckled, ”Besides, List, I don’t really have a death wish, I need to keep some escape plan, right?

If truly faced with a life-threatening situation... your half-plane would be my last hope.”

”Sir!” List was worried.

”Ah, notions like FLAG only matter when you’re genuinely scared.” Hill spoke calmly, ”But I don’t need such a notion right now.

Ha~

Actually, I quite agree with the viewpoint of Snow Cloud Peak, that if everything is prepared, there’s no need to worry about unexpected events.

Being called a jinx is still less frightening than the unexpected.”

He turned to look at List: ”So, for my safety, we now need to find a place secure enough to build you a well-hidden refuge.

Fortunately, the body Purwell chose this time is the one mixed with Starglow Meteorite, and before approaching those worlds, it won’t attract any attention.”

He looked ahead, but comforted the still uneasy Purwell: ”So, Purwell must stay here, ready to take List away at any moment.

That way, even if I encounter any danger, you will be my last hope.”

Purwell hesitated for a moment but agreed seriously.

He knew his mind wasn’t sharp, but rather than be a burden to Hill, he preferred to complete the task Hill gave him... even if that task might just be a pacifier.

List silently watched Hill.

Of course he knew Hill was right, but he also understood the unspoken words hidden deep in Hill’s heart: if he indeed faced misfortune, at least List and Purwell could still have hope to survive.

Just that they couldn’t return to Teraxil anymore.

But without Hill, Teraxil would no longer hold any meaning for Tower Spirit and the Otherworldly Whale, it could even be said that they simply wouldn’t be able to return... because there were countless beings who could blame them for Hill’s demise.

And Hill’s death would be enough to anger the World Tree Pantheon.

Even if the World Tree didn’t care about the existence of Teraxil... after all, in its eyes, it was just a trial, its children could still return.

But the World Tree definitely cared about the survival of its direct offspring.

The place where Hill lost his life would fare badly, regardless of who might be behind it.

Hill was betting his entire life and power on this.

But List did not want to.

When Hill endowed him with wisdom and emotion, the wisdom came from Hill himself, but the emotion largely came from the eternal love in the deepest part of Hill’s soul... mother.

How could List possibly watch as Hill got into trouble, then wander the world himself?

But he knew that no words could change anything now.

He knew Hill’s character well, gentle yet extremely stubborn, once a decision was made, no one could change it.

List simply smiled and opened his mouth with a voice that was calm yet full of resolve: ”Sir, I will wait here for you, always waiting for you.”

Although Purwell didn’t understand the deep meaning behind List’s words, he also loudly echoed them.

Hill could only smile at them helplessly.

-----------------

Finally, Purwell was placed at the core deep within a sufficiently hidden small moon... around the outside of this moon, for some unknown reason, revolved a Star Vortex.

Although it constantly circled endlessly beyond the world, it surprisingly didn’t attract much attention, and there were no valuable resources within, making it wholly not worth the risk of getting swept to death by entering.

Yet because it was composed of pure mixed metal, Hill found it very easy to penetrate.

Hill tidied up his outfit once more, putting away all the Divine Artifacts of the Kind Alignment, even removing the Ring of Winter and the Crystal Flower Ring.

Though the Crystal Flower was a neutral material, it was too pure, absolutely impossible to appear in the Evil World.

To be honest, in some respects, Crystal Flower was rarer and more conspicuous than some Divine Realm materials.

List watched as Hill took off one life-preserving artifact after another, his heart sinking little by little.

Hill smiled back at him: ”You see, I didn’t just waste time in Toril.”

The things he had crafted by imitating the Staff of the Archmage and some famous mage artifacts could finally be used in this world... after all, Fantasy Worlds were basically filled with fantasies about Toril.

There were countless imitations.

When Hill also put away his magic book, List finally couldn’t hold back: ”Sir, couldn’t you seal a part of the magic book or take out a few necessary pages and only use those protective spells?”

Hill hesitated for a moment, knowing that doing so would damage the magic book.

List quickly continued: ”It would just sleep a bit longer, it didn’t have much use anyway.”

The magic book couldn’t help but emit a flash of silvery-blue light.

”What use do you have?” List spoke disdainfully, ”To warn others that Celene is coming?”

The magic book turned over indignantly... who would want to be blessed by that crazy woman?

Who?

She was just a troublemaker!

Yet he naturally understood what everything before him meant, never even intended to wait for Hill’s indecision... as long as the thought of damaging the soul of the magic book came, Little Bear would ultimately choose to give up.

But he would rather choose to let himself slumber for a century.

His actions were too decisive, so as Hill quietly slipped into the world ahead, there was still a thin black Protection Magic Book at his waist.
