Surviving The Fourth Calamity

”In my future, Zhu Meili is absolutely not there!” Susu answered resolutely.

”But in his future, he might still follow us!” Snow Cloud Peak said somewhat sadly, ”That’s why I asked you to investigate whether Night Butterfly only needs to mate once to remember a genetic fragment, and then produce the same egg for life. Didn’t you understand?”

”He’s occupied the Black and White Path’s territory for so long already! What else does he want?” Susu’s voice broke quickly.

”He’s just making himself a base to cultivate newcomers,” Snow Cloud Peak sighed lightly, indicating that Susu had indeed found the worst outcome. ”Meanwhile conducting some experiments on the Black and White Path, since their morale is probably the easiest to collapse within our Alliance.

Other families may choose to flee, but their main forces won’t waver because of this matter.

The Black and White Path is different; Ink Brush chose to suffer in the Desert just to rebuild morale!

Although I hate to say it, Zhu Meili indeed struck the weakest link in our Alliance.”

”But, why?” Susu asked, a bit puzzled. ”He’s not following that End of the World Romance fool anymore, so why still mess with us?”

”Because except for those dissatisfied with Proud Sky Alliance, he can no longer recruit newcomers that he finds satisfactory!” Snow Cloud Peak tilted his head, watching the ocean for a while, planning to rest while Asmodeus, under the main camera, angrily tried to clear the mess of bugs below the Rainbow Bridge... Just by staring over there, he lost interest in cursing Aesces.

He just wanted to rest.

Snow Cloud Peak, after mixing in the game world for so many years, was facing failure for the first time and instead of feeling motivated, just wanted to finish work quickly.

He spoke softly, ”Don’t you think Zhu Meili isn’t annoyed? Besides his character, he’s really well-behaved as an aide.

End of the World Romance, those fools, if they met a black-hearted guy, would have been duped into losing everything by now.

Back in the day, half of those little aristocrats who targeted our family were led by deliberate people, all for their own profit.

Ha~

Back then I knew obeying order, and abiding by rules was useless; it depended on who you face and your surroundings.”

If those gaming companies hadn’t played favorites, how could he have lost from the start?

Money is indeed crucial, but when dispersed among hundreds or thousands of people, it doesn’t remain that precious.

In the gaming world, plenty desire to earn money, but more live worry-free enjoying life.

They wouldn’t reduce their gaming pleasure over a bit of money... It’s easy to help someone incidentally, but few would willingly be a dog’s leg intentionally.

So unless the money those youngsters have can sustain hiring tens of thousands for over half a year, they simply can’t outmatch him... Snow Cloud Peak still understood his situation.

Though many in the Alliance were considered long-time friends, when disaster strikes, everyone flies solo.

An attrition war, especially one under constant attack, is tough to endure.

He’s confident enough to keep fighting for half a year, unlike others who’d crumble within three months.

After all, games are games; no one seeks happiness only to find pain, thus entertaining others.

Unfortunately, when money is pooled together, it becomes substantial.

Many game companies can’t resist such temptation... or rather, despite most employees choosing their future, there’ll always be some in power unable to resist.

Even if holding out using various methods, Snow Cloud Peak was merely betting on his principles.

In reality, he can’t resist, yet should he let a group of losers play games?

He’s always understood that only when everyone knows he’s too strong to provoke can he achieve a truly comfortable life.

Merely finding a company capable of resisting all temptations.

Like this one.

Ha~ Tsk~

Snow Cloud Peak snapped his fingers, ”Zhu Meili’s own money doesn’t support a family.

But he doesn’t want to start slowly from step one.

He’s inherently opportunistic.

Of course, he’s not interested in being eternal enemies with Proud Sky Alliance, won’t use those disgusting tactics from the past End of the World Romance.

Thus, naturally, it’s a direct opposition.

This more likely attracts those thinking Proud Sky Alliance too tyrannical, believing his character is decent.”

”Eh?” Susu said sluggishly, ”Why say this? What’s it got to do with character?”

”Those without integrity, even if they despise us, are sure to join our family with a smile, right? Complaining behind our backs doesn’t mean they don’t want the benefits.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ pointed to the other side of the sea, ”Of course, nowadays most have openly joined the Paintbrush, but it’s essentially controlled by Eden.”

Quite wealthy... burning through so much without a concern.

Ha~ Sadly, a bit foolish.”

The truly clever child is that Apocalyptic Boss.

He clearly enjoys being surrounded by people, basking in respectful and sycophantic gazes no matter where he goes, but he’s rational and quickly chose happiness over the feeling of being adored.

He tapped his fingers: ”That’s why Zhu Meili chose a very suitable timing and made the right selections.

The biggest enemy of the Proud Sky Alliance has already appeared. As long as the Paintbrush family doesn’t disband, our number one target will surely be him.”

At this point, even if the Black and White Path can’t accept reality, the plot of Aesces has already reached its finale. It’s clear we’re not planning to stay in this world post-plot climax, and our Proud Sky Alliance certainly won’t choose to stay behind to continue fighting against them just because our backup plans were disrupted.”

”Isn’t the reason nobody is staying because of those maggots?” Susu sharply interjected, ”In battles against people, there’s always someone in our Alliance willing to fight, regardless of what Skills they can use.”

”Don’t bring up such melancholic issues, I just managed to calm myself, did you know?” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ retorted irritably.

Then he sighed deeply, speaking slowly: ”Anyway, regarding Aesces, it’s likely nobody in our Alliance will want to remain here.

That’s fine. This world has its own operating Law and shouldn’t be overly disrupted by us.

Who knows, maybe in the future... Forget it, there’s no need to discuss something so far off.

The fact is, Zhu Meili just wants to claim this place as his base. For example, when new members join our Alliance, we wouldn’t lead them directly to Toril!

Once out of the Teraxil novice village, they’re supposed to make rounds in the Gerns worlds, familiarizing themselves with various Skills and combat styles before heading to Toril.

Yet, Gerns, for the most part, is controlled by our Proud Sky Alliance... Otherwise, why do so many think we’re detestable?

Even if we rely solely on our capabilities to reclaim things, there’s always someone who accuses us of being domineering.

Ha~

Forget it, let’s not talk about fools.

Zhu Meili needs a transit point for these people, and once they’re skilled, they will naturally move towards the more free Toril, and at that point, he will inevitably have to confront us directly.”

’Susu’ asked a bit confusedly: ”Then why does he believe he can make it?

You’re so sarcastic... um~ strategic, isn’t he worried he’ll end up worse off?

That’s a whole family~ even if saving, Zhu Meili would have to invest quite a bit of his own money.”

”Because he thinks he can control the intensity, after all, there’s an intermediary who can relay messages at any time!” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ propped his chin, exhaled heavily, and turned his gaze to the giant screen... Ha~ Asmodier seems to have given up on dealing with the maggots that are entering their second hatching phase and is preparing to focus entirely on hunting Gaia, probably intending to conclude swiftly... He needs to begin seriously observing, ready to intervene at any moment.

Although, he should have been notifying ’Mobi Chenxin’, but now someone else needs to be informed.

After all, they couldn’t simply watch as evil devours an infant!

At least not until Cronos gains some means of resistance.

Thinking about it, he finds himself quite honorable, even considering whether the enemy is of age and how to solve issues... though it’s mainly William’s demand.

William seems to genuinely adhere to the principles of justice he set for himself!

However, he must have promised Young William not to act against children.

That child has always been unable to come to terms with children’s unnatural deaths and would proactively send people to receive these children’s Souls... He’d even collect their Souls himself if they were particularly pitiful and tragic.

Hill’s Moon Elves that happened later, those relatively weak ones, mostly went to Young William’s Divine Kingdom to serve him as guiding Angels.

In reality, he wishes to protect those children more... but Deities aren’t all-knowing or all-powerful, even if he’s the Guardian God of the children.

Only when the children sincerely pray for his help can Young William perceive their prayers.

However, most of the children experience misery... fundamentally due to irresponsible parents, so how could they teach these little ones?

Therefore, Young William is highly sensitive to such matters.

But relying solely on the efforts of the Undead Tribe and Saral here won’t be able to change the entire world in such a short time.

However, it seems like there’s recently been a bit of a solution, ’Snow Cloud Peak’ suspects that Shaer, who excels in weaving dream worlds, stepped in as an external guide.

While it’s unclear, he heard a snippet of rumor from those still managing new recruits in Teraxil... Young William’s crafted dream for children initially had a slightly purple hue, and it was apparent someone’s directing him on how to integrate certain sounds into the dream.
