Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Whether it’s humans or deities, including the world itself, when reaching a dead end, it’s definitely not the help offered by others.

It’s not knowing how many more layers of snow will fall.

Only by gritting one’s teeth and persevering can one see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Just like Hill and the appearance of the God of Time and Space and William indeed helped greatly, but the reason the entire world can have a future is because of the Earth Bear who has consistently planted trees at the edge of the world.

Although they are an absolute race that will not perish with the destruction of the world... the Goddess of the Earth’s World Tree clearly placed its last bit of power in that ancestral valley, ready to pack those bears inside and take them away.

But it also proves that, when forced into slumber, the Goddess of the Earth has also prepared for the worst.

Haiweirsen wouldn’t be unaware of this, and with the nature of the Earth Bear, even the most cunning of them wouldn’t hide such important information from their clan.

Yet, even so, not a single Earth Bear thinks they can relax even a bit.

Although Haiweirsen went out in between, it was also only after discovering the death of the White Wolf God and the Lake Goddess, and the rampaging of the Magical Beasts that he went out seeking news, only to suffer a setback.

Whenever Hill thinks about the fact that during such a lengthy period, only Aurelio was left to play aimlessly with Photinia vines in the ancestral land, even eating far less than other Earth Bears... Because of the White Wolf God’s situation, the edge of the world which already didn’t have much good stuff, became even more barren, he couldn’t help but feel compassion for his somewhat simple-minded bear brother.

He couldn’t help but sift through the various ingredients and recipes inside his pendant, as well as special delicacies which couldn’t be made even with a knowledge of the recipe, eyes filled with a faint sense of nostalgia.

”Our world of the God of the Earth basically has to go through this checkpoint.” Aesces sighed, interrupting Hill’s thoughts, ”Especially for you Teraxil with your natural attributes, it’s even more troublesome.

Once you grow, you will inevitably occupy a special position in the multiverse; how could we easily succeed then?

Though I wasn’t unaware of this, the appearance of Terry made me lose vigilance, thinking he was my biggest trouble, so I went ahead with things.

But now it seems, he was the most useless one.

Really...

Though we are lucky, aren’t we?”

Hill pressed his forehead helplessly and spoke: ”Your luck is truly good.

We, Teraxil, still have a pile of issues to deal with!

Though they won’t threaten the safety of the world anymore.”

He suddenly raised his eyebrows, his gaze steady on the giant screen he had been avoiding: Because of Cronos’s appearance, although the Slaran Deputy seemed somewhat distracted, and despite Rose still hiding herself, the battlefield temporarily balanced a bit.

”Dare to look now, is it because those flies and moths have fallen to the ground?” Aesces curiously asked.

Carefully observing the tug-of-war between Asmodeus and the Queen of Chaos, Hill nearly lost control, quickly turning his gaze to the small black ball: ”When will you learn not to say things that make people unhappy?”

”That doesn’t seem necessary to learn.” Aesces grinned with satisfaction, ”Snow Cloud Peak said I’m quite fine this way.”

”Huh?” Hill almost doubted his ears.

”He said one of my many traits should remain; otherwise, I wouldn’t be me.” Aesces’s tone was filled with satisfaction, ”And speaking without care, lacking conscience, although it annoys people, as the World Master, what can others do after I acted this way?

Since my strength ensures I won’t easily be hit, there’s no need to change myself for such trivial matters!”

This kind of nonsense could indeed be spoken by someone like ’Snow Cloud Peak.’

Moreover, Hill could somewhat guess why he would say that... Aesces has really changed a lot compared to before being educated by ’Snow Cloud Peak.’

Yet such actions, for someone with strong divine power, are indeed a blow.

He must admit his past insufficiencies.

Hill had seen many deities in the multiverse, but one like Aesces, who truly acknowledged his shortcomings and was willing to quickly change, was quite rare.

Though he did suffer a lesson.

Truthfully thinking about those from Toril~

They could die repeatedly and still can’t resist going down the old path.

But these days Aesces’s mood must be somewhat down.

Who would want to admit mistakes originating from themselves?

After all, in the multiverse, a default rule is: ’Those with treasures surely attract evil wolves.’

Weaklings who can’t guard their treasures have no right to complain why others target them.

This was ’Snow Cloud Peak’ slapping then offering a sweet date, diverting the rather simple Aesces’s attention to a fundamentally less important aspect.

And indeed, he spoke correctly.

Those who have a better connection with Aesces, like Hill, although they can’t help but complain, definitely won’t get angry because of him.

Because they know this fellow really has a tongue faster than his brain.

But those not close to or strangers to him, why would a powerful divine strength endure them?

Understanding this, Hill nodded with a smile: ”You are doing quite well, saving some troubles.”

Aesces noticeably moved a bit: ”Are you preparing to leave?”

”The few up there, have already ended their distribution.” Hill pointed at the screen, where the battlefield was fiercely active, yet no one was injured, ”I naturally need to continue my journey home!”

”I’ll miss you.” Aesces seemed reluctant.

”Those words make me quite bewildered.” Hill couldn’t help but twitch his mouth, ”Do you need a relay to contact me?”

Where there’s the Elemental Realm, Aesces can directly reach Hill.

Even if Hill isn’t in his own world, it wouldn’t take more than ten minutes for him to find him.

”Ah~” Aesces hopped again, ”I see the Undead Tribe’s farewell seemed quite emotional, so I wanted to learn it.”

”What farewell?” Hill raised an eyebrow.

”It’s those folks in the desert, some of them suddenly left, speaking rather poetically.” Aesces said with some envy, ”I feel that sensation of sending comrades off for an expedition is quite thrilling!

But unfortunately, I don’t have such an opportunity.”

”Have you been watching the Little Fairy Theater from Toril lately?” Hill couldn’t help but expose him.

”It’s really good. Much better than the operas from our world.” Aesces candidly admitted.

Full of melodrama, huh?

Hill blinked, suddenly realizing why ’Snow Cloud Peak’ let Aesces watch this show... After seeing too much, the World of Aesces should have fewer unbearable vulgar storylines.

It seems ’Snow Cloud Peak’ doesn’t like the kind of fantasy world storyline which apart from melodrama is also vulgar.

The Tablets of Fate on AO’s side can’t be influenced by him; Aesces’s side, he can still do something.

But Hill has no interest in these realms, he truly dislikes the concept of predetermined fate... He always prefers Teraxil, though the rules are increasing, but no deity there meddles with such nonsense.

Even the Noble God back then, although he didn’t allow some people to do certain things, he certainly wouldn’t weave anyone’s path of destiny.

It’s a pity Aesces prefers the school from Toril.

He nodded at the giant screen: ”Cronos might have it quite rough; next time when resurrected, you probably won’t even recognize him.”

Rose’s most clever move was bringing in the Queen of Chaos.

The latter absolutely doesn’t care if the Abyssal Will would be displeased with her and Asmodeus’s collusion.

Yet the Abyssal Will is willing to let her come out, and for that, willing to provide a coordinate for a Seven-Section Rod, which seems abnormal.

It’s impossible for him not to know, once realizing the battle can’t end immediately, and might even require too much of his own sacrifice, the Queen of Chaos would definitely be swayed by Asmodeus’s words.

Although this lady immediately closed her ears upon appearing, fighting with crazy ferocity, even causing Asmodeus to be somewhat flustered.

But upon realizing all her allies are in the disadvantaged position, and Rose dared not show her face, the Queen of Chaos’s ears should have opened.

Hill noticed the ink splattered by the Queen of Chaos was already purely black... completely lacking any special adhesive.

This indicates she has begun wavering and is prepared to betray at any moment.
