Surviving The Fourth Calamity

The Undead Tribe simultaneously looked up, and then two of them lowered their heads together.

Rose appeared in a spider form, using a standard sucking motion as she ate.

If it was just horror, they might not feel anything, but the constantly wriggling appearance of her mouthparts was always a bit disgustingly repellent to normal people.

Naturally, this was because the two of them were already overly stimulated, almost unable to endure, otherwise they wouldn’t have specifically brought in the most raucous ’Magic Sword’ and ’An Idler’ to join in.

No need for ’Snow Cloud Peak’ and ’Perfect Bald’ to look up, those two could easily make the entire hall lively with their antics.

Moreover, whatever might disgust them, they would certainly take an interest in researching it.

But due to their inherent prankster nature, even the most repulsive things would sound inexplicably funny coming from their mouths, making the listeners feel a lot better.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ propped his face and sighed as he spoke: ”Ah~ Aesces is really holding it together; why isn’t he taking action yet?”

The Master of Time and Space’s filming equipment was indeed very useful, but not without constraints, such as the maximum spellcasting distance for the user of such Strange Objects.

They could still see images in the Dimensional Space because Aesces could still control it.

Once the space leaves his grasp, the filming apparatus, or the camera, disappears automatically and then regenerates a new one on the main device... albeit requiring considerable energy.

Therefore, the Undead Tribe generally chooses to retrieve it themselves.

But Aesces is certainly indifferent.

-----------------

Hill turned to glance, and Aesces had already stopped moving.

The small black sphere suddenly left; it seems the showdown moment has arrived.

He clenched his fist, watching the giant screen with concern... although he knows his friend is unlikely to fail, he still feels a bit nervous.

-----------------

Aesces carefully scrutinized Asmodeus.

After Typhon killed Gaia, he completely disregarded the decayed corpse, directly pivoting to face Cronos at a high place.

Although the Greek Gods seem to have many Divine Artifacts, in critical moments, pure physical force becomes necessary, merely carrying some Power of Laws unique to them.

Therefore, even if the Greek Deities leave their own world, and even if they retain some residual energy, the genuine ability to damage divine power of the same Level actually comes from the boundless strength granted by Gaia with that Titan attribute.

Cronos is certainly strong, but Typhon is no weaker than him.

After all, even in the most critical bloodline-based Greek God System, these two are equals.

Thus, watching them battle is quite a spectacle.

Yet something isn’t quite right.

Aesces senses a hint of discrepancy... Asmodeus made a pact with the Queen of Chaos, logically he should resolve Cronos immediately rather than continuing to parley with the Queen of Chaos.

The ripple they stirred is weaker than that between Slaran and the Plague Demon King.

Aesces thoroughly investigated, realizing that the Lord of Hell genuinely didn’t care about Gaia being snatched by Rose, apparently not intending to violate his agreement with the Queen of Chaos, yet publicly, amidst his polite smile, he’d been monitoring the grand chaos on the ground.

He finds it puzzling why was the focus on flies, moths, and a bunch of toads riddled with pustules.

But Aesces had already cultivated a good habit: when time is pressing, if one doesn’t understand, hurry to consult someone wise.

-----------------

’Snow Cloud Peak’ frowned as he looked at the tablet.

Covering his eyes with his right hand, he turned to ask ’Magic Sword’ and ’An Idler’: ”Did either of you notice any particular changes in the fight between those little Slaran and flies and moths below?”

”Hmm?” ’Magic Sword’ replied a bit bewildered, ”The flies and moths have begun to evolve, they’re already able to harm those little toads; didn’t you see that?”

”Hmm?” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ immediately turned back, thoughtfully saying, ”I’ve merely predicted that after these frogs eat those worms, there would be some... well, an impact not too negative for the small frogs themselves, but not beneficial for the collective of Slaran, and why should flies and moths undergo such changes?”

”I think you missed something.” ’Perfect Bald,’ propping his chin, spoke leisurely, ”You shouldn’t only consider Worm Mage over there~ let alone Night Butterfly!

That’s a Night Butterfly from Hill Valley; she drank the morning dew from the Agleya Holy Pool and grew by eating the leaves of the World Tree caterpillar, didn’t she?

Wasn’t it said when Zhu Meili contracted with her, her Level wasn’t considered low?

She might crawl out of Hill Valley for some hidden corner to cocoon... don’t you know how many small birds we have eating bugs in Hill Valley?

Hill’s white falcon woke up during that era!”

”Ah... right, then, nearly all bird types were gathering around Hill Valley to evolve stronger wings and capable of floating at high altitudes, right?” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ recalled.

”Right.” ’Perfect Bald’ shook his head, ”Sigh~ timing is really indescribable.

There weren’t many bugs reaching such Levels in Hill Valley, yet she encountered that thing having to flee.

If she cocooned in the valley, she wouldn’t have ended up with Zhu Meili.”

”That too was her luck.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ shook his head, ”I understand now, Night Butterfly might not possess numerous powerful Skills, but since her natural instinct is to hide, even if her genes contain more evolutionary potential, she would still opt for stealth Skills.

But those worms are different.

Faced with a tribe-destroying crisis, they’ve started evolving proactively!

I truly am fortunate for doing this.”

’Snow Cloud Peak’ tilted his head: ”So, is Asmodeus concerned with the moths or the Slaran?”

”Both, but more so the Slaran.” ’Perfect Bald’ glanced at the tablet, ”He should have already seen those suddenly color-changing toads.

Slaran commonly have a yellow base color then transition to black. Thus, ordinary small toads are fundamentally cyan-green, yet there’s inside starting to show beige-like toads emerging.

Moreover, other toads distinctly repel these varieties, even ruthlessly act against them.

Clearly they no longer consider the color-changing toads their kin.

Nobody expected the usually omnipresent Slaran to possess such a vulnerability!

As for the flies and moths, no matter how much development potential they possess, former battle angel Asmodeus would never regard them as worthy.

After all, in the Multiverse, similar functional creatures can always be found; the Lord of Hell needn’t disgust himself.

Didn’t you notice he’s somewhat reluctant to engage with Rose?

Otherwise, why would he let Rose gnaw away at a piece of flesh?

If the Lord of Hell was sincere, he absolutely wouldn’t be outplayed by Rose.”

”Uh... I surmise that Rose would likely tread more decisively along this path in the future.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ waved the tablet in his hand, ”What we can discern, she surely perceives as well.”

”Yes, but the Lord of Hell is always profoundly deliberate.” ’Perfect Bald’ scanned the tablet and then lifted his head to remind, ”Perhaps this approach is him fishing because he reveals it obviously.

Emotional changes others can perceive might only have a millionth chance of being genuine.”

’Snow Cloud Peak’ nodded: ”No worries, I understand these matters.

However, affairs relating to the Lord of Hell, don’t require our management, we just need to consider if Rose or certain Abyssal Lords could thus employ sickening tactics.

Since if they do engage, Toril must follow suit.

If that’s the case, we need to pay attention to... maintaining environmental hygiene.”

”You should seek Hill for this.” ’Perfect Bald’ propped his chin to speak, exchanging a helpless glance with ’Snow Cloud Peak’: clearly those two can directly communicate, why insist on using them as messengers?

”I suspect Hill wouldn’t handle this matter; he’s about to embark on Stellar Realm exploration returning to Teraxil, seemingly intending to detour to evaluate worlds surrounding Teraxil.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ pursed his lips, ”Better consult the Nature Mage, right?

Isn’t the Tower of Nature simply placed there as decor?”

These words should be addressed to Coron and Edna together.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ leaned back slightly: Shaer’s petty grievances really go beyond words, the incidents on the Path of Destiny, she likely keeps finding ways to adjust.

Anyway, Leonard’s mistaken words were tallied against the Tower of Nature, completely overlooking little Lean himself, let it be then~
