Surviving The Fourth Calamity

”凸(艹皿艹)!” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ finally tilted, ”This T... ah... what the hell is that?”

It was a monster whose lower body was covered in masses of pale purple tentacles, like a gigantic squid. The upper body was a plump female form, and the tentacles swaying beneath her long green hair were covered in slime.

”Ah... it’s really...” ’Perfect Bald’ used his tablet to cover his own head, ”Is this a one-off crash course to show us that all that so-called Cthulhu-type stuff actually has a source?

I’m honestly getting a bit neurotic here!

It’s already like this, can we call in another external helper? Old Dog, I feel like as long as I just answer your questions, that’s enough.

Edna’s yelling over there already, she seems to have noticed something terrifying and went to check it out.”

”Call Magic Sword over.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ shot back quickly, ”Bringing Idler along is fine too. No need to worry about those two blabbering even if they see something big.

Right now, even if Zhu Meili wants to interfere, there’s no room left for her.

When a butterfly’s wings can still stir up a breeze, mortal claws can still stretch out a bit.

But in a storm like this—heh~”

”I’ll call them right now.” ’Perfect Bald’ said through gritted teeth.

After Typhon appeared, Asmodier, who had been all but invisible up till now, suddenly revealed his form: ”The... Chaos Queen?”

A trace of surprise surfaced on that ever-smiling face of his.

The Lord of Hell truly could not grasp why the Chaos Queen had gotten herself mixed up in this.

As the former ruler of the Bottomless Abyss, a being abandoned by the Abyssal Will, how had the Chaos Queen suddenly decided to come make trouble for him?

Then his gaze couldn’t help but slide toward Slaran, fighting off to the side... Right, there was one of those in the Bottomless Abyss too.

As one of those ancient abominations born in the Chaos Sea, even though the Chaos Queen ignores everyone, if it’s Slaran, they might actually have some sort of connection.

So this is the method Rose dug up to counter him, the Lord of Hell?

Right, her first target was never Cronos!

Even though she’d acted so greedy at the start, wanting everything, once she discovered Asmodier had arrived, she should have changed her thinking very quickly.

And Gaia—does Gaia have any standing to talk here?

So long as Slaran and Rose have made a deal, she can only obediently give up this avatar... No wonder she used to be the first one to run, yet this time she stuck it out till now.

Asmodier shook his head—he’d still been influenced by Typhon.

He should have known long ago that guy gets swept away by his own emotions and has no judgment at all; how could he have believed Typhon’s nonsense about Gaia only going all out for Cronos?

Fortunately he never fully trusted anyone and had prepared a backhand.

The pointer in Asmodier’s mind spun in a flash, and in front of him, a figure fully twice Typhon’s size materialized.

The Lord of Hell quickly pulled his thoughts back: ”I really didn’t expect to see you here!”

The Queen of Chaos’s hoarse voice was filled with cold cruelty and killing intent: ”I made a little deal with the Abyssal Will, so, Asmodier, die miserably.”

She had no intention of letting the Lord of Hell say anything... The Chaos Queen knew perfectly well how good he was at seducing hearts.

At this moment, all she needed to do was strike.

A terrifying black watery mist, like ink, shrouded the entire sky.

”Fuck!” Staring at the giant screen, ’Perfect Bald’ couldn’t help falling back, ”What the fuck... what karma did I sow to suffer this now?”

”Stinking Cloud Spell plus Dark Arts, and Heavy Fog Technique, mm, and then a bit of Fear Magic on top, probably.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ flipped through his tablet, his tone calm. ”You only thought about her octopus legs, so you ramped up your emotional reaction.

Don’t scare yourself for no reason, she’s got way more disgusting tricks than that!

Now’s really not the time to be collapsing.”

”Are you even speaking human language?” ’Perfect Bald’s’ accusatory voice was cut short by two resounding clangs.

A Knight in a full royal-blue suit and matching blue hat barreled in, followed closely by a guy in the same style but in bright red.

”Ah... I kind of regret asking you to call them.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ glanced once, then quickly turned his head back. ”Those two... have they gone fully insane or lost a bet?”

”Haven’t they always only liked these two colors?” ’Perfect Bald’s’ mouth twitched.

”Their ’blue’ was never this blue, and their ’red’ was never this red.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ covered his forehead and waved at the two who had charged up in front of them. ”Sit behind us, I’m begging you.

If I don’t get killed by Zhu Meili but get pissed to death by you two instead... heh~

You two probably couldn’t handle the fallout from that, right?”

’Magic Sword’ and ’An Idler’ exchanged a glance, then both let out a synchronized cold snort in a particularly disdainful tone... Each thought the other one looked truly hideous like this... but in the end they still walked to the back of the sofa where ’Snow Cloud Peak’ was sitting, grabbed two barstools, and sat down.

”Watch the big screen. You two split left and right, each of you take half. If anything special happens, remember to shout to us.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ swiped his tablet a couple of times to calm the shock he’d just suffered... Maybe he’d been scared one too many times today, so he couldn’t quite handle the added trauma of realizing his own people were idiots too.

”Oh~” The two of them agreed obediently.

”Be careful, especially with that swarm of flies and moths still breeding down there. Pay attention to changes in their egg-laying and hatching speed.” ’Perfect Bald’ checked his tablet. ”And that big toad.

She might not be able to hold on for long.”

Slaran’s goal in coming here was the flies and moths, so if she could drag this dimensional plane back to the Chaos Sea, that would naturally be ideal.

Of course, sending it to some world Seth wants to occupy would be even better.

The main thing is, worlds like Aesces usually don’t interest the Chaos Sea much... and no, that’s not about it being low Level, it’s about the World Master belonging to the Earth Deity System type.

The Chaos Sea and the Earth Deity System have always kept to their own lanes.

Though no one knows the reason, Slaran really does rarely make a move against the Earth Deity System.

But with maggots and eggs all over this place, if things really don’t work out, that big toad might choose to take a batch with her.

Mainly because they can’t be sure if those flies and moths can only survive here, so they’re going to struggle a bit either way.

’Magic Sword’ and ’An Idler’ didn’t understand what ’Perfect Bald’ was talking about, but they cleanly accepted the mission anyway, and even looked pretty excited about it.

’Perfect Bald’ silently turned his head to look at these two fairly well-known members of his own family, and couldn’t help somewhat agreeing with outsiders’ verdict on them: more stupid, more joy.

The two of them actually didn’t find the images on the giant screen scary or disgusting at all!

Then he lowered his head, looking anxiously at his tablet... What kind of problem had occurred to make Edna this nervous?

-----------------

”Sir?” List looked at Hill, who was clearly nauseated yet couldn’t tear his eyes away from the giant screen, and asked with concern, ”Did something happen?”

”There’s only one reason that would make the Queen of Chaos leave her lair.” Hill pressed his lips together. ”There’s news about the Seven-Section Rod that’s sealing part of Miska’s essence.

What she called a deal with the Abyssal Will is definitely not that it will help her find that thing.

It can only be that she already has some intel, but needs the Abyssal Will to help her locate Miska, who’s confined in the Raving Hollow Nexus.

She’s deliberately blurring her true purpose... The one who got the intel should be Rose.

But the Queen of Chaos would never easily trust a famous con artist like Rose, so the one who helped her verify the information was probably Slaran.

Coming from the Chaos Sea like they do, they should have some way of telling whether the other is lying.”

”Will this affect you, sir? Or Teraxil?” List couldn’t help asking.

”They say it won’t, but who dares to be sure?” Hill said, a bit tense. ”To release Miska, the Queen of Chaos is capable of doing anything.”
