Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1144: Chapter 936: Damn Lansendel

What Celene could think of, Elsdarhur certainly understood even better.

Although he didn’t know what trait of the Balghra demon these Tieflings had taken a fancy to, he knew very well that they harbored ill intentions towards him.

These sorcerers, even demons feel a bit apprehensive about them… To achieve their goals, these madmen can even target their own souls.

The anger of the red-haired gorilla is imaginable, the Undead Tribe couldn’t approach that door a single step further, they could only stand in the hall, listening intently, hoping those two wouldn’t just fight without speaking.

How can a fight not involve harsh words? A battle without trash talk has no soul!

On the contrary, the dark red halo on Old Habel’s body grew deeper and deeper, presumably because the Demon Lord had not yet figured out how to deal with the threat of Asmodeus.

He wasn’t necessarily afraid of that Tiefling sorcerer, but since others had meticulously planned for hundreds of years, while he didn’t even know what hidden trump cards the Tieflings had, he had to be cautious.

Regarding the uniqueness of his own bloodline, the Demon Lord thought for a long time and could only understand one thing… No matter what kind of creature he has offspring with, the descendants of Balghra are always Balghra.

However, Tieflings are different. They, especially female Tieflings, are excellent bloodline continuers, very capable of bearing offspring for the strong… but more than eighty percent of the offspring will entirely follow the paternal bloodline.

As for the remaining twenty percent, they only partially resemble their mother, the most important Tiefling traits like horns, hooves, and tails often only one is inherited.

Since the fall of the Tiffin Empire, female Tieflings were essentially all captured by some strong beings in the Abyssal Hell.

Even humans and elves like to use them to research some bizarre bloodlines… crossbreeding with animals is no longer considered a significant issue.

So, is this the struggle of the Tieflings not to go extinct?

No wonder those Tieflings in Toril, who clearly hated the heads of the Non-deity Club who fled to Mark City with all the empire’s wealth, still cooperated with them.

The Demon Lord viciously revealed his teeth… Are they treating him like a soft persimmon to squeeze?

Elsdarhur didn’t want to lose his bloodline’s trait due to a slight oversight… Sorcerers base their bloodline extraction on the soul, and once lost, even if resurrected later, he could not retrieve the taken traits.

The Demon Lord was determined, if it really came to it, he would rather find a way to self-destruct than lose the glory of Balghra.

Of course, he wasn’t so easy to kill. As a lord bound with a certain layer of the Abyssal Plane, even if his true form perished, he could resurrect in his plane.

But if the soul suffers too much loss, the resurrection time would be quite prolonged.

Even if demons don’t care about time, why should they?

Elsdarhur was extremely annoyed… These Tieflings, who had long failed, dared to target him!

No matter the reason, even if there’s something about Balghra’s bloodline that’s extremely important and uniquely tempting to them, actually daring to target him indicates one thing… These Tieflings don’t think angering him, the Lord of Balghra, is a big deal.

Look at that expressionless face of Asmodeus! Clearly, he was prepared to expose himself should he fail.

These guys just think it’s easy to deal with Elsdarhur!

Speaking of bloodlines, Grazt’s is more stubborn! Why not target Six Fingers then?

As long as the Tieflings offer more beautiful females, Grazt could be easily deceived!

Isn’t it because they’re afraid of Six Finger’s future revenge?

Tieflings are not that powerful Witch Queen, and of course, it’s also because Six Fingers genuinely likes the Witch Queen’s cruel, cunning, and treacherous personality… It’s no secret, the whole Bottomless Abyss knows it well.

After all, Grazt needs to find himself a beautiful excuse!

Elsdarhur viciously swung his arms, an endless black tide surged through the entire rotunda, even the outer hall could feel the tremor.

The Undead Priest standing next to Edna sighed: “It’s still no use, outside can’t get in, and we can’t get out.”

“Whose power is it?” Edna asked softly, “The demons or the Tieflings?”

“Of course it’s the Tieflings.” The Undead Tribe spread his hands, “That red-haired rose was eager for us to leave sooner~

If by accident, the Tieflings sacrifice you, what then?

It’s not so easy to kill you either.”

*

The corner of Edna’s mouth on one side twitched slightly downwards: “Yeah, it’s probably quite difficult.”

Leonard asked with concern: “Edna, are you okay? Feeling better?”

Edna forced a smile: “I’m okay. Just remembered something from the distant past.”

“Sigh!” Leonard sighed, “The Haber family probably had plans for you for a long time. Knowing that the Undead Tribe is by your side and that you have the support of Lord Hill, yet they still crazily want to sacrifice you. It’s likely that the runes were prepared with you in mind from the start.”

“Initially, it was aimed at Edna’s father.” A droplet seemed to gather on the young girl’s long eyelashes, gently sliding down as she blinked slightly, but a smile bloomed on her exquisitely beautiful face, “Unfortunately, they didn’t expect that the combined forces of the Haber family couldn’t defeat the Archmage who inherited all of Azuth’s wealth on the surface.”

“The Tiefling inside must be very frustrated too.” Growing up among elves as a Half-Elf, Leonard didn’t find anything strange in Edna’s words and was quite amused, “If they had picked another Ninth Ring Mage, perhaps the Lord of Balghra would have fallen into their trap.”

“It’s not that easy.” Edna said blandly, “The success rate of the Dual Incineration Ritual is not high, and it’s easy to sabotage. How many Ninth Rings can the Haber family catch?

They don’t have the capability to make multiple sacrifices.

Rather than wasting opportunities, they’d rather gamble big, since one who possesses Azuth’s bloodline yet isn’t a true deity’s descendant, that chair might be satisfied in one go.”

Leonard exclaimed in surprise: “What? The Dual Incineration Ritual fails because that chair wants to consume more people? If it doesn’t interfere, can it succeed in one go?

Wasn’t it said that the ritual has an innate failure rate?”

“When the Witch Queen made a sacrifice, it only failed once… After that, the Seat of Sakoxiel has never failed again.

The Witch Queen directly brought its master Grock over.

That chair is very greedy, and the Haber family doesn’t have the ability to suppress it, so naturally, it would deceive them.”

“But even the Tiefling cannot control it? Asmodeus, the head of the sorcerers, is notorious even in the Supreme Forest. Most Children of Nature were warned to stay away from him.” Leonard asked, puzzled.

“They dare not do much; the president of the Non-deity Club is already taking a big risk just reaching a hand while the Lady of Pain isn’t paying attention.

Those Tieflings, though sounding grand, can’t even find a decent job in Mark City, merely loitering on the streets.

When they first arrived in Mark City, those Tieflings could only do… well… like those small thugs in Deepwater City, bouncers at bars, whatever the low-end gangs were doing, they would do.

It was only because they had some money that they could rely on some high-combat-strength races to establish the Non-deity Club.

Once they had a trade association in hand, things got a bit better.

They say it’s because they don’t acknowledge any deities that they built their headquarters on the ruins of the temple, but everyone knows it’s because they couldn’t beat others for it!

Hmph, it was later that they bought over several strong individuals with mental issues to make the Non-deity Club appear formidable.”

Leonard said with admiration, “Edna sure knows a lot! No wonder they say Preaching Mages are highly knowledgeable. Having a legacy is advantageous!”

Edna looked up at her friend: “Ah~ Being a Preaching Mage is quite nice. Really nice…”

“Edna!” Finally released from the circling Undead Priest, Elvia poked her slender head in front of the young girl, “Why does your Mental Sea seem a bit chaotic? The fluctuations are quite intense!”

“I’m really fine.” Edna smiled at her concerned friends, slowly unclenching her tightly gripped fist, “It’s just that the stories from the past are quite bothersome.

How should I put it?

The matters of the Haber family were also just fine for me.

The dangers encountered can be endured, and even in the life-or-death moments earlier, I wasn’t really scared… Traveling! Who knows what mountain could get struck by lightning?

I just remembered the ups and downs along the way, and the indifference before departing that now seems presumptuous, it’s a bit embarrassing.”

“Alright then~” Elvia’s face was full of doubt, she grumbled as she retracted her head, “Do you want an Undead Priest to give you a couple of Purifications?

Compared to embarrassment, why do I feel like you’ve been struck by lightning?

Don’t be so sentimental. Learn from us White Dragons, since you’ve survived another time, you should be a little happier.”

Edna patted the White Dragon Queen’s tail, “You’re starting to sound more and more like the Sanda King.”

Elvia harrumphed twice and then said loudly with a swing of her tail, “I would never be like that wild woman! If she were a White Dragon, she’d probably have been killed long ago!”

“Elvia.” The nearby Undead Priest softly reminded, “The Sanda King can see, we won’t save you. Isn’t your tail sore? How many times has it been stepped on!”

The White Dragon stiffened for a moment, then put on a nonchalant look: “How long will those two in there fight? We can’t get out until they’re done?”

‘Boom!’

A horrifying loud noise suddenly erupted above their heads, and the ground before them split open, the sturdy walls, doors, and windows of the circular hall could not hold… a rose-colored light thicker than Elvia surged directly into the circular hall.

“Damn it!” Elsdarhur’s rough voice was almost screaming, “Lansendel!”
