Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1134: Chapter 926: New Guests of the Floating Castle

Lynn quietly looked at Hill.

Hill could only return an innocent smile to his friend.

Although he didn’t openly say that he also preferred the territory’s people not to believe in Lansendel, his choices made it very clear... Hill genuinely felt uneasy about the Lord of Dawn.

There’s nothing he could do; Lansendel’s enthusiasm and naivety were too enticing for young people... It seemed as if just by following that spirited Lord of Dawn, one could also have a bright future.

He initially only planned to have Marsha command puppets to handle these passing merchant caravans... Unexpectedly, Lynn’s first reaction was to deploy the Defense Force.

Hill had no objections to that.

He knew that deep down, he had a bit of disdain for these part-time robbers disguised as merchant caravans, which is why he hadn’t considered their first reaction to seeing the puppets wouldn’t be the lord’s strength but to first calculate the puppets’ value.

For thrill-seekers, spotting something valuable and risking everything first is normal logic... But even if it were dragons coming to rob, Marsha could manipulate the puppets to save their lives.

So Hill acted nonchalantly... If they wish to die, let them come!

However, Lynn, with a traditional governor’s mindset, his first thought was to prevent any troublemakers in his jurisdiction.

Since the administration of Agleya City was handed to Lynn, Hill wouldn’t intervene unless necessary.

But Hill truly didn’t expect that in his view, the least likely to follow Lansendel, the Elven City Guards, previously battered by Eternity Island and Mis Zhunuo, would be so fearful in front of the Lord of Dawn.

What could he do then?

Surely, he couldn’t really house a Righteous Knights’ troop beside the inn, right?

That would render the inn useless, wouldn’t it?

A squad of Tyr’s paladins beside the inn is quite different from having an entire regiment of Righteous Knights there!

How many caravans in Toril would dare reside under the halo of the Righteous Knights?

Anyone that bold would already be heading to Agleya, not staying at a small inn by the lake.

Yet, allowing humans trained by the Elven City Guard... wouldn’t that just send backup believers to Lansendel?

The thought of over 100 believers of the Lord of Dawn in his territory made Hill see black!

Thus, he could only choose to counter it with antidotes, having these righteous, rigid knights, who even walked uniformly, train a human legion.

Even if in the end all the humans in his territory became followers of Tyr, Hill wouldn’t really care.

Coron doesn’t need human faith.

Better they believe in Tyr than be swayed away by Lansendel and Celene.

Hill is immensely grateful the first deity he welcomed to Agleya was Tyr! With him around, the human population in their territory, if needing any spiritual support, would mostly visit the Tyr Temple for worship.

Only a few young girls and hardworking women would go to Celene’s small temple.

That’s why, over the years, Hill’s subjects have remained so solemn and orderly, and of course, Hill doesn’t want any unexpected changes in his serene territory.

Lynn shook his head and sighed: ”The Righteous Knights would probably agree; they’ve been busy locating survivors from Neverwinter, seemingly moving them to Luskan, now needing money to buy food.

I’ll just speak to them; the Righteous Knights never turn down a good opportunity to earn money while spreading the glory of Tyr.

Hmm... The ground seems to have stabilized.

I estimate there won’t be any further issues; you should head back! If you’re not guarding the castle and it explodes, what then?”

His expression was peculiar... With Lynn often in and out of the Alchemy Hall, he naturally witnessed the spectacle of the two goddesses, particularly Celene, tending to the Temporal Artifact while searching for William during that period.

Since then, he confirmed Hill would never go up to his Floating Castle unless he was nearing death... with Marsha and List conveying messages so swiftly, why would he cause himself grief by going?

Turning to enter the inn, Lynn couldn’t help but softly ask: ”Leon... won’t there be any trouble, right?”

Hill smiled: ”Didn’t you see the large screen? He’s not with Edna; he’s with the commander called Snow Cloud Peak, along with the main force of the Undead Tribe. He should be quite safe.”

Lynn softly exhaled: ”I dared not watch. I feared seeing Leon in trouble and saying something wrong.

In truth, maintaining that secret wasn’t due to my strong willpower, but because every time I was about to slip, a sense of impending doom loomed over.

Tsk! I’m not a child anymore; of course I understand what’s happening.

But... I’m an elf too! Keeping silent is painful, so it’s best to stay away from him.”

He pulled at the corner of his mouth, revealing an awkward smile, ”But I’m not feeling very good right now either, I get nervous even if something happens.

Just after Long Saddle Town blew up, I doubled the protection fee for Leonard and Edna.”

Hill looked at his friend, who was using money to soothe his inner tension, and said with a touch of sympathy, ”If you run out of money, you can advance your salary for the next few years from me.”

Lynn gave a wry smile, ”Don’t worry, I still have enough money. You give me so much, and usually I don’t have much to spend on when staying in Agleya, so I have a lot of savings!”

Hill smiled and nodded, then his expression changed and he hurriedly said, ”Then I’ll go back first, if you need anything, be sure to find me!”

The crystal fan on his wrist turned directly into his palm, and with a gentle wave, a whirlwind carried Hill directly back to the floating castle.

Hill, who hurriedly landed in the pool, pressed one hand on the crystal flower and then turned to look at his bustling sky garden... A golden Great Peacock was arrogantly casting a sidelong glance with its bead-like eyes at the shadow under the golden-threaded butterfly tree.

Hill’s shoulders nearly slumped instantly... The Maiden of the Moon and the Lady of the Night indeed did not betray his trust, not fighting when he was busy.

But the current situation made him genuinely feel that it would be better if the two of them did not give him face.

”Lansendel,” Hill asked in confusion, ”why are you back? And how did you get in?”

”I too have my own independent temple communication network~” The youthful male voice of the Sun Peacock overflowed with enthusiasm, ”That old guy AO can’t wait for me to use it once!

Unfortunately, many of my divine power pathways were destroyed due to certain things, so I can only come in the most effortless Sun Peacock form~”

The gigantic golden peacock tilted its head slightly and, reacting a bit slowly, said, ”However, my main consciousness is still in Quavas, this avatar’s movements are still a bit slow... Otherwise, I could have blown up the Dark Night before you returned.”

Shaer couldn’t help but sneer, ”Are you here to see who between you and Celene is more foolish?”

”Hmm... is it already Celene?” Lansendel’s train of thought has always been jumpy, ”Congratulations, beautiful Silvermoon.”

Celene laughed brightly, ”Thank you~”

Then the Great Peacock belatedly widened its eyes: ”Eh? Have you and Shaer reconciled? Didn’t Toril only explode once?”

”Only here with Hill, we can get along peacefully.” Celene said leisurely, ”Outside, the fights should still happen. But it won’t be like in the past, where even weak devotees are killed by each other... Now, Shaer, having lost the Shadow Weave, can be communicated with for the moment.”

Shaer remained silent... She prized her face too much to utter the words that she may no longer hunt down Silvermoon devotees in the future.

So, she could only hand over the right to speak to Celene and silently acquiesce.

The Great Peacock fell into confusion... He felt as though he hadn’t left Toril for just a few years, but tens of thousands.

”Did you come back because of the matter with the elves of Mis Zhunuo, Lansendel?” Celene interrupted his thoughts.

The Sun Peacock immediately snapped out of it, furiously pacing in the garden, his claws and long tail leaving a trail of golden sparks on the ground.

Hill thought about it and gently nudged the crystal flower, and in the sky, light rain, as hazy as mist, started to fall gently.

”My greatest Dawn Tower was established only after Mis Zhunuo fell, with devotees going in one after another to set it up.” Lansendel’s usually buoyant tone wore an unusual heaviness, ”The true Dawn Stone has always been at the top of that tower... After that, it’s impossible for anyone to dig into the high elves’ cemetery.

Before that, Mis Zhunuo was full of demons and monsters. I really didn’t expect someone would take the chance to dig their graves!

Those damn mages! I won’t let them get away with it!”

Hill glanced at the enraged Sun Peacock... He didn’t directly rush over to kill that Old Haber, so, did he reach an agreement with AO?

AO allowed him to come in, but only after the Path of Destiny concluded could Lansendel take action?

Hill didn’t want that Great Peacock to cause a fire here, so he gently said, ”Are both sides stalling for time?

I understand the Undead Tribe; their reinforcements’ path is blocked, and they have used their divine artifacts.

Why is Haber stalling for time? Do they plan to use the Shadow Energy Core once more?”

”That old guy fed the one lying down a dose of the Moon Soul Elixir.” Celene said with a strange tone, ”I don’t know what else he’s trying to do.

But I don’t think he’s planning to use the Shadow Energy Core again; that thing doesn’t have as much effect as they think.”

”He probably plans to sacrifice Adanko’s soul to awaken the Demon Lord,” Shaer coldly said, ”Last time, during the earthquake, the Haber Family not only sacrificed Neverwinter but also lost quite a few family members to appease that fellow.

But just awakening it, Adanko’s soul, supplemented with the Moon Soul Elixir, should be enough.

Speaking of which, Celene, why do they have the Moon Soul Elixir? Isn’t that something you bestowed only to your most devout devotees?

Isn’t it something that’s not available more than a few times a year?

Seeing how easily that Haber used it, he must have more on hand, doesn’t he?”
