Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1138: Chapter 930: How Did Shaer and Coron Get Entangled?

Elsdarhur’s fierce red eyes scanned the hall before speaking languidly: ”Ah! So you are the enemies I’m supposed to deal with?

Since when did the Elves rise up again?”

Old Haber looked up incredulously.

In his heart, the first thing Elsdarhur should do upon emerging was to grab someone to eat... After being trapped on the Seat of Sakuxiel for so many years, the Demon Lord must have been perpetually starving.

No way, Elsdarhur was too powerful, and it was only through a stroke of luck that the Haber family managed to capture this Demon Lord equivalent to formidable divine power... They initially intended to capture the Eye Demon Lord from the Realm of a Thousand Eyes.

The name ”Realm of a Thousand Eyes” alone indicates how many Eye Demons reside in this layer of the Abyss, these bizarre demons might even directly expel or kill their children with different stripes from their own... because they are too ugly.

Eye Demons forever believe that their own patterns are the most beautiful, and if anyone disagrees, let there be a fight to the death!

So there is no strong lord capable of unifying the Realm of a Thousand Eyes, rather countless small lords equivalent to intermediate divine power emerge.

This level of strength meets the Haber family’s requirements.

And targeting Eye Demons naturally comes from their ability to control others... As long as they’re well hidden, they have countless ways to make Sword Bay become the Haber family’s Sword Bay!

Consider how the Santalin Meeting succeeded.

Wasn’t it just turning a high-level priest of Bane into the most obedient fanatic by having an Eye Demon wash their brains in Floating Mountain?

And that was just a common Eye Demon who fled the Abyss after a failed battle!

If the Haber family could possess an Eye Demon at the Demon Lord level, they would become the uncrowned kings of Sword Bay!

The result was unexpected luck, although they had set the coordinates to the Realm of a Thousand Eyes, the Dead Moon Magic Orb summoned the Ninety Layer Lord Elsdarhur!

Most crucially, when they originally planned to do this, besides their few Transcendents, dozens of Eighth Ring Mages came from the family... This provided them the confidence to take the risky action against this Great Lord Balghra under the threat of extermination by Elsdarhur.

And they indeed succeeded, even easily advancing the Dual Incineration Ritual to the Fifth Circle within a year... Thanks to the havoc caused in coastal areas by Eternity Island, due to the Princess’s disappearance, allowing the Haber family to effortlessly turn some lesser-known kind alignment Human Mages into missing persons.

As for later... the Sixth Circle Ritual wasn’t so easy to accomplish in one go, and the status of Sixth Circle Mages in Toril wasn’t low either, losing one or two was fine, but twelve disappearing in a year would almost certainly draw attention!

They had no choice but to proceed slowly, and sometimes they would hit a wall, causing significant losses among the Mid-High Rank Mages of the Haber family... Why do these affluent mages insist on playing the game of traveling incognito?

Yet once caught, success really does come easily for such mages!

The Sixth Circle Ritual took a full 10 years to complete, however, for the Seventh Circle, they captured several royal bloodline mages during the internal unrest in Tethyr... Truly a family linked to Shadow Valley... Sacrificing three was enough for success!

For the Eighth Circle, they faced even greater difficulties, even with several Transcendent Mages personally leading, the Haber family’s dozens of Archmages were nearly depleted... Or else, how would making Marko the Clan Leader matter?

Their dark side forces ensured that Marko wouldn’t detect any issues.

Unfortunately, too many high-level mages from the Haber family perished, necessitating the involvement of numerous Mid-level Mages.

That way, Marko would inevitably notice something amiss.

Old Haber didn’t want to gamble on whether a kind alignment Archmage would go to the lengths of playing family betrayal.

Luckily, this guy still brought Kelben to the family... The Black Staff’s ambition made him choose to support the resource-rich but profoundly wealthy Haber family.

Besides needing a visible backer, the Haber family also appreciates Kelben’s intelligence network.

Ninth Ring Mages are plentiful, but finding someone in the Ninth Ring while maintaining kind alignment isn’t easy!

At least the Haber family couldn’t connect with them... What Ninth Ring Archmage would they dare invite to reside in their Long Saddle Town?

Thus, the Haber family proceeded to today for the sake of this final rune.

Old Haber’s eyes dimmed slightly; he no longer knew if their initial choice was right.

After capturing two Princesses of Eternity Island for the Lady of Pain in Mark City, she gave the Haber family several options, but the only one all Transcendent Mages desired was the Dead Moon Magic Orb and Seat of Sakuxiel.

Everyone understood what it meant... Controlling a Demon Lord would give not only a continuous stream of abyssal resources but could also directly turn their insufficiently talented offspring into Dark Mages.

Hence, when they discovered the Dead Moon Magic Orb tempted Elsdarhur, they couldn’t resist that invitation... That Ninety Layer Abyss harbors a portal directly to the Wild Plains!

Although closed off by the Olympian Pantheon on the other side, the whirlpool often throws some Godforce Crystals to the Abyss side.

The Haber family’s High-level Mages were naturally tempted... Abyss and heavenly transcendental resources can enhance a High-level Mage’s qualifications by one tier!

While good resources for offspring are undoubtedly beneficial, but if they can strengthen themselves, what do offspring matter?

Then the Haber family embarked on this irreversible path... For so many years, countless resources were poured into the Dual Incineration Ritual, and a large number of mid-high rank members sacrificed their lives to capture offerings. By the later stages, no one dared to even suggest giving up.

Old Habel looked up at Elsdarhur, the Demon Lord, who was exchanging giggles with the Undead Tribe across from him without much effort, and he felt a sudden chill of despair... This Demon Lord was already confident enough to destroy the runes and break free from the Seat of Sakuxiel.

His last hope had failed... Elsdarhur, upon awakening, had already managed to break free from the control of the Dead Moon Magic Orb!

It was unclear if it was the Divine Power that caused the problem with the Dead Moon Magic Orb.

Old Habel grasped an Ein Stone in his hand, where his last means of escape was stored... As soon as the runes on the Seat of Sakuxiel were destroyed, he would be directly teleported to Mark City.

This limited wish spell would be triggered when the conditions were met, even if the world was sealed, it could still be realized.

However, the magic within the Ein Stone had somehow dwindled to just a scarlet glow... Elsdarhur, as expected of one of the most formidable Demon Lords under Dimogogan, had somehow already converted this magic away.

And he had been completely unaware.

Why didn’t they just go after an Eye Demon Lord in the first place? Old Habel closed his eyes tightly, filled with pain.

The disheveled old mage gritted his teeth fiercely... He still had one last chance!

Within his rightmost tooth was hidden a Thief’s Stone, and as soon as the blockade placed by Elsdarhur was broken by the Teraxil Elves, he could escape!

With his tooth naturally sealed off, without any mana fluctuations, no one would notice it!

Old Habel glanced at the two mages across from him, who were leaning against the wall with their heads down, lost in thought... They were probably waiting for an opportunity as well.

Even though those Teraxil Elves’ spells were overwhelming, for now, they were still safe.

Even if they wanted to die now, it would depend on whether Elsdarhur agreed... The Ein Stones above their heads had already been imbued with the Great Demon’s power, providing them with a strong defensive shield.

Old Habel pursed his lips tightly, if it came to it, he would use those two to draw Elsdarhur’s attention... As the most powerful mage of the Haber family, he was well aware that those two had control crystals from the Ningbrow Astrolabe.

But because their intelligence was insufficient to control the astrolabe located in the Ningbrol Island Nation, using the crystals for teleportation would only yield random results.

He wasn’t going to take such reckless risks... Of course, had he not obtained this small yet very pure Thief’s Stone, he wouldn’t have minded grabbing a crystal himself.

Behind Old Habel’s tightly shut eyelids, his eyeballs kept darting about, and with just a glance, it was clear he was still looking to struggle.

Elsdarhur cast a mocking gaze at the greedy, foolish human mage... Did this guy really think he could manipulate the Dead Moon Magic Orb to blind his senses?

Although he could feel the Dead Moon Magic Orb and the Seat of Sakuxiel were under that human’s control, Elsdarhur didn’t really see him as the true culprit.

While the time of demons is endless, and he had spent the past few years sleeping at home, he was not willing to be calculated against for nothing!

Elsdarhur bared his teeth in a grin at the elves who stared at him with hostility... Wow, they really weren’t afraid of him at all!

Still smiling.

What the heck is ’Diamond’? Did some Balaur make an appearance?

Heh heh!

This world is indeed interesting!

Come to think of it, this is the first time a world has been so actively inviting him to settle since he followed Dimogogan!

Usually, they don’t even want to let them take a look!

That demon prince of theirs, he controls quite a few Abyssal Planes, so he doesn’t care much for these Prime Material Planes.

Even though he had placed a few idle chess pieces in Toril, it’s more for monitoring Six Fingers than it is for Toril itself.

After all, that guy with a penchant for convoluted schemes has deep entanglements with Toril.

Elsdarhur rubbed his fists together and cracked his knuckles.

He developed an immense interest in everything he saw before him... What was the deal with these elves who bore no Soul Marks?

Why was Shaer’s Hydra and an Ancient White Dragon standing among the elves?

Hadn’t he just been asleep for a few hundred years?

How had Shaer and Coron gotten involved with each other?
