Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1115: Chapter 908: Celene Sets Her Sights on Snow Old Dog

Hill really couldn’t determine from Celene’s desire for a map whether she wanted to catch Shaer’s followers at their weakest moment.

But since she didn’t outright refute her sister’s words, it showed that the Lady of the Night was correct.

“Amanata resurrected, huh!” Celene finally said grudgingly, “Weren’t you identified as his sole enemy?”

Shaer sneered, “You’d better understand one thing first… I’m the one who first declared him an eternal enemy.

As long as I don’t strike first, even if the Ancient Night Temple is right next to his temple, he won’t do much!

Amanata… Ha, what right does he have to speak of justice?”

“But will you really not strike?” Celene said dismissively, “You’ve already planned to train the followers of the night into an army to deal with him!”

“The impact of that divine artifact isn’t as great as you think. It still depends on whether the person holding it has the talent for war command. If it’s the Undead Tribe, it might be fine. But Iltmara… while decent at schemes and plots, not much else, they can barely handle it,” Shaer softly answered, “If the Righteous Knights take action, the followers of the Ancient Night Temple can only retreat. It’s been so long, they can only defend.”

Hmm… Hill thought silently, in Toril, in direct battle with equal numbers, how many military factions are stronger than the Righteous Knights?

Especially when they fight for their beliefs and the justice in their hearts.

“But Tyr will only choose to stop you and your priests from destroying the world,” Celene said with a playful smile, “Absolutely won’t proactively cause you trouble.”

“Hm…” Shaer chuckled, not commenting on Tyr’s actions.

The hot-blooded and enthusiastic God of Justice might have learned the biggest lesson in Toril about what ‘ignorance is bliss’ truly means.

After all, the evil gods wanting to destroy everything probably haven’t killed as many civilians as the kind alignment deities shouting about saving the world.

If Tyr had acted according to his beliefs when he first arrived in Toril, he’d likely be looking at a world completely hostile.

“Hill, do you think they’ll reach Agleya?” Celene shifted the topic, as she was one of the culprits forcing Tyr to be a ‘blind eye.’

“They will definitely come,” Hill said with a hint of confusion, “but… with that entire undead army destroyed, what about the people behind them? They won’t expect to take down Edna in one go, right?

She’s backed by the Undead Tribe after all!”

Shaer coldly responded, “The Haber Family is currently negotiating with the Seat of Sakuxier and the demon lord controlled by that chair!

They initially didn’t plan to act in Neverwinter Forest, especially since Marko’s Dusk Tower can’t hide in dimensional space yet!

Moreover, though Marko knows they might be up to some schemes and tricks, he definitely can’t accept actions like directly destroying Neverwinter City.

Though many kind alignment factions wear a facade of hypocrisy, acting for a long time still retains some humanity.

Like Marko, who feigned ignorance to forget the origins of the Haber Family… this place in The North, someone like Kelben, a neutral Archmage, nearly died several times, yet the Marko Family with no archmage above level 40 firmly occupies Long Saddle Town.

Whether demons or devils or so many evil gods, when causing trouble, they bypass Long Saddle Town, perhaps because they find them attractive?

Mark City is their true foundation.”

Celene interjected contemptuously, “Ha~ But Marko is indeed the only humanity left in the Haber Family. Their family even tries to preserve this aspect to prove they are human.

Unfortunately, those who committed too many sins aren’t qualified.

Dusk Tower has already been collapsed, Marko almost got sacrificed by the Seat of Sakuxier, the Haber Family fought desperately to save him.

But Marko seems unable to handle the messes his family caused; the annihilation of Neverwinter City shattered his sanity, and now he’s run away from home.

Currently, he’s in Luskan.

Due to the messes his family made, he feels too ashamed to face Kelben and can only find Laila, whom he’s fairly close to.

As for the Haber Family, they don’t care much about what Marko does, as long as he stays alive.

Leaving the family might actually be better… if Long Saddle Town fails completely, their family still has a sliver of hope.”

Hill nodded with realization, “So, they truly didn’t anticipate the volcanic eruption this time?”

“They intended to capture Edna for sacrifice, and it would be even better if they brought along that Half-Elf, then sent their family members out to find Mystra, considering that with Kelben around, the Goddess of Magic might notice them~

Then they’d have a chance to reap benefits from the Path of Destiny once again!

Without the descendants of the Deity of Mages, Kelben’s children still haven’t come of age, and Elaströ from Silvermoon City is currently at her wit’s end… once internal strife officially starts, it won’t easily stop.

Especially Edna’s grandfather, who can’t even let his child return home. Do you think he’ll spare those under the Lord of Silvermoon?”

Recently, both factions have been heavily depleted… I heard that Elaströ’s son, the Gold Elf, seems to be planning to enter the fray.

Look, if Edna really is Edna, the Haber Family might be able to hold on for another few hundred years~” Celene said with a playful smile, “Hehe~ But alas, that chair can’t wait~”

Hill smiled silently, it’s not the chair that can’t wait, right?

Otherwise, why would the Seat of Sakuxier choose to erupt at this particular time?

Things that are too coincidental are never truly accidental.

Shaer spoke softly: “What a pity, this time, the path of destiny they’ve chosen has been doomed from the start.”

For a moment, the Floating Castle fell into silence again… The Tablets of Fate, or rather AO’s move of inserting Mystra into the Descendants of Azuth, was truly audacious. If they didn’t know the truth, they might not be much different from the Haber Family.

Edna now resembles a Sea Monster disguised as bait, whoever dares to swallow her is doomed… choking to death would already be a good ending.

Celene’s clear voice broke the rigid atmosphere: “What are those Undead Tribe up to?”

After the Undead Tribe above the cave gave up on the idea of smashing their own Clan Leader, ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ finally regained control, so he kept his head down on the tablet and didn’t participate in the discussion on Edna’s side.

He instructed tens of thousands of mages from two families to form a circle around half of the cave, leaving a gap between every two individuals for passage… then every person passing through would have to pause for a Feather Fall Technique and an Elemental Damage Deflection Spell.

The wind in the cave was strong, even descending along the wall slowly, they could still be swept away sometimes.

But with the BUFF, grabbing the wall, there basically wouldn’t be any problems… but in the world of the Undead Tribe, there are always some people lacking the concept of ‘basic’.

Some forgot to stop for a BUFF, some forgot to hold the wall during strong winds.

The Snow Old Dog squatting by the tree wall switched from mockery to full-on cursing… but this didn’t stop the accumulation of corpses at the corner of the wall.

“Playing?” Hill answered lightly.

“That command…” Celene said somewhat enviously, “This command that can manage the unruly Undead Tribe!”

Hill, do you think if I ask William for his soul… not now, but after he dies, could it work?”

Hill couldn’t help but glance at the large screen where Snow Old Dog was cursing gleefully, unsure how to react… Being so capable that the Maiden of the Moon noticed sounds a bit sad, doesn’t it?

Shaer sneered, disdainful: “William would never hand over his loyal followers to you for destruction! Are you dreaming too beautifully?”

Celene shouted in dissatisfaction: “How can you say that? He’s long accustomed to managing chaos! Can the Undead Tribe be any better than my followers?”

Shaer’s voice was filled with mockery: “You don’t know the difference? While he’s in charge, William is his confidence.

In your hands, you’d be the source of the greatest chaos.

A capable commander like him, how could he not see this?

Do you think a deity known for justice would harm their valuable aide like that?”

Celene shut her mouth and stayed silent.

Hill had no intention of making any presence in this topic, he scratched his long hair and quietly took out a dish of fruit to nibble… drank too much, feeling a bit unwell.

However, after a few bites of apple, Hill couldn’t eat anymore… He really wanted to drink some iced cola~

Suddenly craving, Hill’s fingers moved slightly, he grabbed a lemon first, then took out a cup of cold water, trying to make some lemon sparkling water… Tsk! The taste is still a bit strange.

Just now Celene and Shaer said a lot, but no one spoke about how the Haber Family plans to intercept Edna and her group… Directly having the Demon Lord step in is impossible.

Although the Magicplague’s impact on Sword Bay isn’t too great, it’s clear from Hill’s sensitivity to the environment that he doesn’t dare use Ninth Ring Spells yet, surpassing the world’s bearable level will surely cause disaster.

So, the Demon Lord under the control of the Haber Family probably didn’t intend for this terrible result initially… Neverwinter Forest and Neverwinter were completely destroyed, and a large part of the Neverwinter Mountain Range is gone.

With explosion upon explosion, that lord probably faced backlash too.

Short-term estimates of action seem impossible.

Otherwise, why would the Haber Family even bother with negotiations, they should just run.

Once the Demon Lord breaks free from the chair, it’s not easy to trap him back.

Of course, it’s not like he can completely escape the chair’s control, just able to move nearby.

Hill’s doubts, either they don’t know or their mouths are sealed.
