Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 496: Chapter 384: Unexpected Turn of Events (Part 2)

Zhou Yun smiled awkwardly and said, ”I don’t even know what talent really is.”

At that moment, Shi Luoqi’s phone suddenly rang.

”I’ll take this call,” she said.

”Sure.” Zhou Yun nodded.

Shi Luoqi answered the call, exchanged a few words, and all of a sudden, Zhou Yun saw Shi Luoqi’s face darken.

Who knew what the person on the other end had said.

Shi Luoqi got rather irritated, raising her voice: ”We’ve already signed the contract, and now he says he won’t shoot? What’s the point of the contract then? Doesn’t he have any sense of professional ethics? I don’t care what his reasons are, this is not how things are done!”

Zhou Yun was startled.

Not shoot?

Who’s not shooting?

Whoever could make Shi Luoqi this angry must not be a trivial character.

Zhang Mo had already arrived; it couldn’t be him. Could it possibly be one of the other two?

Is it Feng Chaotian playing Meng Fanyan, or Luo Zhiheng playing Wan Long?

After ending the call, Shi Luoqi glanced apologetically at Zhou Yun and said, ”Xiao Yun, sorry, there’s an emergency I need to handle right away. Take your time eating. I’ve already paid the bill. We’ll talk later.”

Zhou Yun, recognizing the urgency, nodded and said, ”Sister Luo Qi, go right ahead.”

Shi Luoqi got up and left quickly.

Zhou Yun finished her dinner slowly by herself and then sent a message to Zheng Xiaojue.

A while later, Cao Jun, who had just taken Song Chi to the airport, arrived.

”Have you had dinner yet?” Zhou Yun asked.

Cao Jun shook his head, ”Not yet.”

”The beef here is really good. I’ll order some dishes for us, and we can eat before heading back,” said Zhou Yun.

Cao Jun nodded.

Zhou Yun ordered a few more dishes, and before they were served, Zheng Xiaojue arrived.

As soon as she walked in, she said, ”Sister Xiao Yun, I’ve found out about the thing you asked me to look into.”

Zhou Yun looked at her, surprised. ”That was fast?”

”Hehe, I asked Big Brother Coordinator, and he told me,” Zheng Xiaojue said. ”On my way here, I even ran into the producer, she looked so upset.”

Zhou Yun said, ”With such an incident, of course, she’d look upset. Who is it that’s not coming to shoot?”

”Feng Chaotian,” Zheng Xiaojue said. ”He went to another crew.”

”Ah?” Zhou Yun frowned in surprise, ”Him?”

Originally, Feng Chaotian and Gu Huaichun’s classmate Wui Zhichang were competing for the role of Meng Fanyan. In the end, Feng Chaotian secured the role with his appearance advantages, and Zhou Yun was still feeling somewhat apologetic towards Gu Huaichun. And now Feng Chaotian had bailed too?

”Which crew did Feng Chaotian go to? Do you know?” Zhou Yun asked Zheng Xiaojue.

”Commission, a crime thriller TV series. His own company is producing it, starring Wei Ru Xue with him as the male lead,” Zheng Xiaojue spilled the beans she had gathered to Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun understood.

She had heard of ”Commission.”

The script for that show had also been sent to her, and she really liked it, but because it conflicted with the schedule for ”Falling Leaves,” she had to regretfully decline.

Now it turned out that Wei Ru Xue had taken the role.

With that in mind, Feng Chaotian’s choice for ”Commission” was understandable.

The male supporting role in ”Commission” had much more favorable character settings than that of the scumbag Meng Fanyan, plus there was more screen time. In contrast, Meng Fanyan’s role in ”Falling Leaves” was quite minor, mostly as a foil.

Zhou Yun asked, ”Is Feng Chaotian definitely not coming?”

Zheng Xiaojue replied, ”They said the producer would negotiate with his company again, but it’s unclear if he’ll end up coming.”

After thinking it over, Zhou Yun said, ”You guys eat; I’m going to make a call.”

She found a secluded spot and called Gu Huaichun.

But Gu Huaichun didn’t answer.

Zhou Yun had no choice but to text Gu Huaichun: Call me back asap.

Five minutes later, Gu Huaichun called back.

”What’s so urgent to find me?” Gu Huaichun sounded calm.

Zhou Yun explained, ”It’s like this, your classmate Wui Zhichang who came to audition for my movie, has he joined a crew yet?”

”He? He probably hasn’t joined a crew as far as I know. What happened?” asked Gu Huaichun.

”Well, our previously cast male actor bailed out last minute, and now the production crew is negotiating with his company. I’m not sure if they’ll manage to get him back, but if by any chance he really doesn’t show up, we’ll definitely have to find a replacement. Wui Zhichang left a decent impression last time with the producer and director. If he’s still interested in the role, tell him to be ready. I’ll also mention it on my end.”

Gu Huaichun immediately caught on, ”Got it, I’ll call him right now. Thanks a lot.”

”No need for courtesy, I’m hanging up,” Zhou Yun said. ”Let me know his response as soon as possible.”

”Okay.”

”If... if he feels slighted because he didn’t get the role previously and doesn’t want to come, try to persuade him,” Zhou Yun suddenly thought of this and added one more sentence. ”The script is really good. It won’t be a loss for him to take the role.”

”Alright, I understand.”

After hanging up, Zhou Yun breathed a sigh of relief.

She returned to the private room and heard Zheng Xiaojue hiccupping with laughter.

”What are you laughing about? It’s as if it’s thunderously funny,” Zhou Yun teased.

Zheng Xiaojue said, ”Cao Jun just snorted his food out of his nose.”

Cao Jun’s face turned red, and he protested gruffly, ”That’s because of you.”

Zhou Yun knocking on Zheng Xiaojue’s head, said, ”Enough, stop picking on Cao Jun, he’s just being nice to you.”

Standing proud, Zheng Xiaojue retorted, ”I don’t need him to be nice to me.”

Cao Jun put down his chopsticks and pulled out a tissue to wipe his nose.

Zheng Xiaojue curiously peered at Cao Jun’s nose and asked, ”You don’t still have a piece of rice in there, do you?”

Annoyed and embarrassed, Cao Jun snapped, ”Get lost.”
