Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 482: Chapter 378: Confrontation at the Airport

Wei Heyun didn’t say much in the end.

”Are you free tonight?” he asked.

”Huh? What do you want to do?”

Wei Heyun said, ”It’s my sister’s birthday, if you’re free, come and join us for a bit.”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Yun shook her head and said, ”Forget it, it’s your sister’s birthday, the attendees will be either rich or noble, I don’t like the way they look at us artists.”

Wei Heyun looked at her in surprise and said, ”I thought you didn’t care about these things at all.”

”I can choose not to care, but only when the situation requires it, I choose to turn a blind eye.” Zhou Yun pursed her lips, ”You grew up in that environment, don’t you know what kind of people mostly surround you?”

”To be honest, I think the people around me are pretty good,” Wei Heyun said innocently and without guilt.

Zhou Yun replied, ”That’s because they are dealing with you, you are from the same circle as them, naturally, you get to see their ’good’ side, but to be honest, Wei Heyun, think about it, you’re over twenty and still have no career, nothing accomplished, but wherever you go, you’re treated ’pretty well’. Don’t you find that bizarre?”

Wei Heyun stared back in astonishment.

”Hey hey hey... don’t be so harsh, what do you mean by I have achieved nothing? I just don’t want to bother.”

”Whatever you say, you definitely understand what I mean, you’re not stupid, so do you get it? They treat you a certain way not just because you are you, but also because you carry the Wei surname. They treat me a certain way not just because of who I am, but also because of my profession, my background, and various other things about me.”

”So do you understand now why I said I don’t like it? These past few years I’ve dealt with quite a few people from similar backgrounds as yours, everyone is different, but the arrogance is similar. They think they’re acting on good manners and elegance, but in reality, it’s just self-restore of pseudo-aristocracy, they look through colored glasses, and any somewhat good-looking woman is seen as a calculating toy, anyone from a lesser background is seen as an opportunist. Can you say that people around you don’t think this way?”

Wei Heyun hesitated, stuttering for a while.

”Don’t you ever have such thoughts?”

Wei Heyun immediately said, ”I swear, I’ve never thought of you that way.”

”That’s because you are familiar with me, you see me as the pure stream among female celebrities, I really am different from other female celebrities,” Zhou Yun bluntly pointed out Wei Heyun’s thoughts, ”Of course, I understand it’s normal for you to think this way because you’re always surrounded by such people, but what annoys me the most about people in your circle is your arrogance, having met one person, you think you’ve known them all, holding a bit of resources others need, you start to feel like you’re the king of the world.”

Wei Heyun: ”Damn, why do I have to get lectured just because I ran into you? I was just kindly inviting you to my sister’s birthday party, was there any need for you to sarcastically criticize me like this?”

”Alright, sorry,” Zhou Yun apologized directly.

Her apology was sincere.

Wei Heyun was speechless.

”You really are... you apologize just like that.” Wei Heyun struggled, ”I was just halfway through being angry.”

”Alright, alright, keep going then, I know I went a bit too far.” Zhou Yun said, ”But I had to get it off my chest, so since you keep emphasizing that you’re my friend, please bear with it.”

Wei Heyun sighed, ”No wonder you ended up with Song Chi, really, if you’re not blood-related, you don’t enter the same house.”

”Huh? What do you mean?” Zhou Yun looked confusedly at Wei Heyun, asking.

Wei Heyun looked at Zhou Yun in surprise, ”Don’t you know? The story about him being pursued by a billionaire’s daughter.”

Zhou Yun shook her head, ”I haven’t heard about it, tell me quickly.”

Wei Heyun chuckled dryly, ”Nah, ask Song Chi about it yourself, why ask me?”

”Are you going to tell me or not?” Zhou Yun sent a sharp glance over.

Wei Heyun sighed and said, ”Alright, I’ll tell you. Previously a girl, extremely wealthy, even the friends around me wanted to chase her; she took a fancy to Song Chi and used every trick in the book, honestly, not many people thought Song Chi would refuse her because being with that princess meant ascending to the skies in a single step, but Song Chi was tough, he rejected her from start to finish without giving her any chance. Initially, we thought he was playing hard to get.”

It’s the first time Zhou Yun heard this story.

”So there was such an incident.”

”That’s why even though Song Chi is popular now, he has also suffered a lot in the past, loads of similar incidents,” Wei Heyun said, ”Don’t blame the people around me for having a colored view on the entertainment industry, true upright people don’t last here, only those who make it in this circle aren’t exactly clean.”

”Shut your mouth,” Zhou Yun said impatiently, ”You people are really something, if it weren’t for people like you meddling in this circle, it would definitely be cleaner by half.”

Wei Heyun opened his mouth to argue but found no comeback.

Because he realized Zhou Yun was quite right.

Zhou Yun asked, ”Why are you suddenly interested in making films?”

Wei Heyun shrugged and said, ”I’m tired of hearing you scold me for being unambitious and irresponsible, so I thought I’d give it a try.”

”You’re not thinking of starting a project and casting Yu Sitian, are you?” Zhou Yun’s gaze was piercing.

Wei Heyun dodged the question, asking, ”How are you planning to leave later? I have someone coming to pick me up, do you need a ride?”

”No thanks, if someone takes a picture of you driving me, then big news breaks, Zhou Yun has a private outing in Beijing with a second-generation rich, Song Chi gets cuckolded, Yu Sitian cries to death in the home bathroom.”

”Can news headlines be that long?” Wei Heyun asked in surprise.

Zhou Yun: ”Was that the point of what I just said?”

Wei Heyun: ”Ah, alright, then I’m leaving, how long will you be in Beijing? I’ll treat you to dinner tomorrow if you’re free.”

”Sure, let’s see how the timing works out tomorrow, I don’t have a schedule yet.” Zhou Yun parted ways with Wei Heyun, stepped out and sure enough, people who had heard the news were waiting with cameras and signs. As soon as she came out, there was a shout.

Zhou Yun suddenly realized that she had been so engrossed in conversation with Wei Heyun that she forgot to wrap her scarf.

Now it was too late, her bare face was completely exposed to the cameras.

Zhou Yun wasn’t worried about her bare face looking ugly, but knew that Zhou Lan would definitely call to scold her.
