Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 455: Chapter 358: A Surprise

Xu Siyao stood just a few steps away from Zhou Yun, smiling coldly, but even Zheng Xiaojue could tell that Xu Siyao’s coldness seemed somewhat forced.

”Xiaoju, let’s go up,” Zhou Yun said.

Zheng Xiaojue immediately responded and was about to walk with Zhou Yun.

”Do you think you will always be this proud?” Xu Siyao’s voice came from behind them.

Maybe she knew, maybe she didn’t, but her voice was filled with a flavor called unwillingness.

The empty parking lot, which should have been bustling with cars coming and going, seemed to know that there were two women confronting each other here, or rather, one-sided confrontation. In the past minute, it had become as quiet as a wilderness.

Zhou Yun didn’t stop her steps, but her voice flew firmly: ”I will.”

She didn’t turn around, so she didn’t see Xu Siyao’s features contorted into a monstrous figure governed by anger and jealousy after hearing her confident ”I will.”

Zheng Xiaojue looked back and saw it.

She made no effort to hide her disdain for Xu Siyao, rolling her eyes.

Rage burned like wildfire in Xu Siyao’s heart, time and time again, countless times.

Zhou Yun and Zheng Xiaojue went upstairs. As soon as the elevator doors opened, suddenly there were two bangs, and confetti filled the air.

”Surprise!”

Cheers were heard one after another.

Zhou Yun was stunned, and upon looking again, she saw a long banner reading: Zhou Yun—The New Box Office Queen!

Without a doubt, this was President He’s doing, no one else could produce such a flamboyant and vulgar copy.

There was President He holding a cake, walking over amidst cheers. His suit was sharp, his hair tidy, his smile proper and enthusiastic. He was only a bouquet of roses away from kneeling on one knee in front of everyone, proposing to Zhou Yun.

Just as Zhou Yun was internally commenting, she heard Zheng Xiaojue suddenly take a sharp breath and whisper in her ear: ”Sister Xiao Yun, with President He making such a grand gesture, could he be pursuing you?”

She thought she was speaking softly, but her voice was loud enough for President He, holding a cake, to hear. His perfect expression twitched fiercely, and he didn’t recover for a long while.

Zhou Yun patted Zheng Xiaojue on the back soothingly and said, ”President He has a family, what are you thinking about.”

President He, like a drowning man finally surfacing, took a deep breath.

He felt Zhou Yun and Zheng Xiaojue’s banter was deliberate.

But he had no way to deal with Zhou Yun and had to continue keeping a blooming smile.

”Movie Queen, it’s rare for you to come to the office, we should have a small celebration first, and later we’ll have a big celebratory feast!” President He said.

Zhou Yun looked at President He quizzically and asked, ”Aren’t we here to sign the contract today?”

President He, with a triumphant expression, said, ”The signing is scheduled for one hour from now, and they haven’t come over yet. Quick, let’s cut the cake first!”

Zhou Yun: ”...”

Such a small cake, how is it to be shared among so many people?

Despite many internal complaints, Zhou Yun still took the knife and cut the cake.

Having completed this ceremony, President He had no intention of eating, he snapped his fingers, and immediately someone came forward to take away the once-cut cake.

Like magic, suddenly several cakes were brought out, all pre-cut, just waiting to be served.

Everyone busied themselves, the atmosphere lively. The cakes were distributed, reaching everyone’s hands.

President He personally brought a piece to Zhou Yun.

”This is a specially ordered sugar-free cake, you can eat it with confidence,” President He said.

Zhou Yun accepted the cake with a suspicious expression.

”President He, what’s the purpose of this surprise for me?”

President He said, ”It’s just to give you a surprise. What else could it be?”

Zhou Yun didn’t quite believe it.

She still looked at him doubtfully.

Indeed, too many of President He’s past actions were notorious.
