Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 468: Chapter 370: Defining the Relationship

Zhou Lan felt it strange, why would Shi Luoqi call her so late, could there be something important?

Zhou Lan answered the phone and asked, ”Sister Luo Qi, are you looking for me?”

Shi Luoqi’s tone was a bit serious as she said, ”Zhou Lan, there’s something I need to confirm with you.”

With such seriousness in Shi Luoqi’s tone, Zhou Lan’s scalp tensed, and she hurriedly said, ”Sister Luo Qi, go ahead.”

”Is Zhou Yun pregnant?” Shi Luoqi asked.

Zhou Lan was completely stunned and took a while to come back to her senses.

”What, what?”

Zhou Lan laughed, ”Sister Luo Qi, where did you hear such a rumor? How can that be? How could Xiao Yun be pregnant!”

Shi Luoqi, however, did not relax in response to Zhou Lan’s words and continued with some seriousness, ”Are you sure?”

Zhou Lan’s heart skipped a beat, but she still said very firmly, ”Of course I’m sure. Sister Luo Qi, where did you hear this from? How could Xiao Yun possibly be pregnant? She has such a busy schedule every day and public events almost daily. If she were pregnant, how could it be kept secret from others?”

Shi Luoqi finally relaxed her tone.

”It’s good that it’s not Xiao Yun. I’ve received news that there’s a top actress who is pregnant, and many people are saying it’s Zhou Yun.”

”Ah?” Zhou Lan asked in surprise, ”Who is spreading this rumor? Pregnant? I don’t know who this person is but it definitely can’t be Zhou Yun, you can be assured of that.”

Shi Luoqi: ”Being pregnant isn’t a big deal in itself, but ’Falling Leaves’ is about to start filming soon, and if Xiao Yun really were pregnant, we’d have to prepare for it early.”

After hanging up the phone, Zhou Lan immediately called Zhou Yun.

”Are you pregnant?”

Zhou Lan wasn’t reassured and had to confirm with Zhou Yun personally.

Zhou Yun was also taken aback and asked, ”What?”

Hearing Zhou Yun’s reaction, Zhou Lan felt relieved and said, ”Hey, Shi Luoqi just suddenly called me to ask if you were pregnant, and I got quite a shock until I learned there are rumors going around in the industry about a top actress being pregnant, with many pointing to you. She was a bit worried.”

Zhou Yun snorted and said, ”Me? How can these people fabricate such a rumor out of thin air about me being pregnant?”

Zhou Lan: ”Yeah, who would have thought, right? I didn’t expect it either. As long as you’re not pregnant, that’s good.”

Zhou Yun gave an indifferent hum.

”I don’t even know who is pregnant, but the rumor is spreading with such detail,” Zhou Lan muttered, ”Alright, I’m glad it’s not you. It’s getting late; you should get some rest.”

Zhou Yun hung up the phone.

After taking a shower, Song Chi walked in and asked, ”Who called you so late?”

”Sister Lan,” Zhou Yun said, ”she mentioned that some people suspect I’m pregnant, and it’s a widely discussed topic.”

Song Chi stopped in his tracks, a look of surprise on his face, ”Pregnant?”

Zhou Yun nodded and said, ”It’s quite unthinkable.”

Yet Song Chi seriously pondered for a while, staring at Zhou Yun’s stomach for a bit.

Seeing him do this, Zhou Yun grabbed a pillow and threw it at him, asking, ”What are you thinking?”

Song Chi quickly caught the pillow, chuckled, and said, ”Just in case, you know.”

Zhou Yun spat thrice, ”Don’t jinx it, there is no just in case.”

Right now was not the time for her to even consider the possibility of being pregnant.

She was focused on her career.

Song Chi came over, sat down, and pulled Zhou Yun into his embrace, asking, ”If you really are pregnant, tell me.”

Zhou Yun shot him a sharp glance and said, ”If I really was pregnant, we’d get married right here, right now. Can you do that?”

Without hesitation, Song Chi nodded and said, ”I can.”

”Oh, you’re so young and already ready to be a dad, quite confident, aren’t you?”

”That’s right,” Song Chi said confidently.

”Really?” Zhou Yun eyed him skeptically.

Song Chi seemed too convincing. She knew that many men truly didn’t want to take on family responsibilities so early. Not just men, but women as well. The responsibility of a family can be overwhelming, whether it’s financial or emotional pressure.

Yet Song Chi seemed happy about it, which astounded Zhou Yun.

Song Chi let out a sigh and said with a smile, ”Okay, honestly, I’m not confident, a bit scared. But I’m more than willing to embrace it all.”

Zhou Yun: ”Don’t you feel like you’re too young to be tied down so early?”

Song Chi said with a smile, ”I don’t see family as a tie-down. I have my own ambitions and also want a family. There is no conflict.”

”But a conflict is inevitable; there will be sacrifices.”

”That’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.” Song Chi laid his head on Zhou Yun’s shoulder and said, ”I’m willing to make sacrifices for the person I love.”

Zhou Yun gently pushed Song Chi away.

”You just think so now.”

”It’s my true feeling. I am willing to face all future challenges with you. I have a strong desire to. If you asked me a year ago, I would have said let’s wait, but unknowingly, my thoughts have undergone a significant change. Xiao Yun, ever since being with you, I’ve been thinking of you involuntarily in every decision I make. This didn’t just start today; it’s been happening for a while now.”

Song Chi’s voice was low, warm, and firm.

It rang in Zhou Yun’s ears like warm water, slowly flowing into her ears and into her heart.

Zhou Yun felt a place in her heart soften naturally; she knew some words couldn’t always be taken at face value, but at this moment, she chose to believe unconditionally, without logic or thought.

She let herself lean into Song Chi’s embrace, feeling the sound of his heartbeat coming from his chest, thump, thump, thump.

”Song Chi, you’ve already made me fall for you. If one day you stop loving me, you have to take responsibility. You have to make me stop loving you before you can leave.”

Zhou Yun wrapped her arms around Song Chi’s neck and kissed his lips.

Song Chi responded passionately to the kiss, flipping over and pressing down, his hands tracing along Zhou Yun’s waistline.

”I could never stop loving you; I can’t be without you.”

Song Chi murmured these words unclearly, his eyes filled with certain excitement that overflowed.

The night deepened, with thousands of lights dimming.

...

”Chi Bing, are we together now?”

On the other side, just after finishing, Zhou Lan lay in bed with a slightly flushed face, looking at the man next to her and softly asked.

This man named Chi Bing had a hesitant expression.

A twinge of pain struck Zhou Lan’s heart, but she forced a smile at the corner of her mouth.

”It was just a casual question, don’t overthink it,” she said.

Chi Bing gave a grunt and after a long silence, turned his head to look at Zhou Lan, asking, ”Do you want to define our relationship?”
