Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 480: Chapter 377: Idealism

Zhou Yun sometimes feels like she’s a bit of an idealist.

It’s not just her, Song Chi is, too.

Even when they have no choice but to compromise due to reality, they can still play out a drama filled with idealism.

But Zhou Yun has come to accept this.

Early the next morning, she is woken by her alarm clock. She opens her eyes and sees that Song Chi, she doesn’t know when, has already returned and lies next to her. She wakes up with a start and reaches over to turn off the alarm clock.

Song Chi’s brow is slightly furrowed, apparently awakened by the alarm.

In a gentle voice, Zhou Yun says, ”It’s alright, just my alarm. You continue sleeping.”

Song Chi slowly opens his eyes. Clearly still not fully awake, he reaches out and pulls Zhou Yun into his arms.

He kisses her lips with near affection, ”You’re about to leave?”

”I have work.” Zhou Yun looks closely at Song Chi’s face. In the early morning light, the crisp air seemed to paint a layer of frost on his face, making him look somewhat frail from fatigue, still handsome, but lacking the usual radiance as if blessed by sunlight.

Lately, Song Chi has indeed been exhausted with too many urgent matters to handle and too many decisions to make.

”You go back to sleep; I’m heading out,” Zhou Yun whispers.

But Song Chi refuses to let her go, burying his head into the crook of her shoulder.

”What’s the matter?” Zhou Yun can’t help but gently raise her hand to stroke the back of his head.

Song Chi mutters groggily, ”Tired, hold me for a while.”

So Zhou Yun stays silent.

She quietly holds Song Chi for some time, not sure how much time passes, and Song Chi seems to fall back asleep.

Zhou Yun hears the steady rhythm of Song Chi’s breathing and carefully withdraws her hand to get out of bed.

It’s seven o’clock, and the sky isn’t fully bright yet.

It’s December, winter now, and the sun’s direct rays are in the Southern Hemisphere.

Zhou Yun quickly ties her hair into a ponytail, goes downstairs, and decides to apply her makeup in the car.

Or maybe she won’t bother with makeup at all, going to the airport barefaced is also an option.

As long as she avoids being photographed.

But this seems unrealistic as her schedule is mostly semi-public, every time she goes to the airport, many people wait for her there.

But it’s not a problem either.

After all, it’s winter, if she can’t avoid these people, she’ll just wrap herself up tightly.

And so, an hour later, the Zhou Yun people see at the airport is barely recognizable as the female celebrity.

She wears a fuzzy hat that covers the part above her eyebrows and uses a thick scarf to cover everything below the bridge of her nose completely, leaving only the area around her eyes exposed.

Zheng Xiaojue and Cao Jun flank her side.

Wearing her headphones and facing the media who come early to intercept her, she lets them snap a few photos to have something to show for their efforts.

But unexpectedly, Zhou Yun encounters Lew Qingqing in the VIP lounge.

Ever since that last phone call, the two of them have not been in contact.

Seeing Lew Qingqing now, Zhou Yun notices her whole demeanor has worsened, somewhat wilted.

And she’s only accompanied by one assistant.

In the past, whenever Zhou Yun saw Lew Qingqing, she was always surrounded by many people.

”What a coincidence,” Lew Qingqing initiates the conversation.

Despite looking much worse, Lew Qingqing still makes herself look very refined.

At least compared to Zhou Yun, Lew Qingqing looks the part of a female celebrity.

Zhou Yun takes off her scarf, her mood somewhat complicated.

The things that Lew Qingqing had done previously—though without evidence—Zhou Yun trusts her own judgment. Uncertain how to approach Lew Qingqing, she hesitates on what attitude to adopt.

Lew Qingqing approaches her and says, ”I haven’t congratulated you yet; ’Heart Inquiry’ has finally started airing.”

Zhou Yun shakes her head, ”What’s there to congratulate?”

Lew Qingqing: ”Indeed, after all, you and I are different. I’m not like you, almost losing my job.”

”Just because of a pregnancy, is that necessary?” Zhou Yun says.

Previously, Lew Qingqing took a bold risk and proactively revealed her pregnancy. She then spread words to the outside that the father wasn’t someone from the industry, thus she wasn’t disclosing his identity, keeping it confidential, finding an excuse to hide the fact that she wasn’t married.

Although her company was annoyed, they didn’t want Lew Qingqing to fall into an even worse public opinion mire, so they put in a lot of effort to steer the narrative and shift the focus from when Lew Qingqing got married.
