Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 465: Chapter 367: Third Audition Segment (Part 2)

Both acting styles worked in this script, but Zhou Yun preferred Zhang Mo’s performance.

Because she simply felt that Wan Duoyan wouldn’t fall in love with a man prone to emotional outbursts, as Wan Duoyan himself is someone who easily gets angry and loses his temper. A long-lasting relationship with another emotionally excitable person is unlikely.

This was her intuition.

Xue Qin and Shi Luoqi did not announce the results on the spot.

Next came the audition for the role of Meng Fanyan.

Wui Zhichang was the first candidate.

Because of Gu Huaichun’s recommendation, Zhou Yun watched Wui Zhichang’s performance with more concern.

The audition included the scene where Wui Zhichang first met Wan Duoyan on the airplane.

Zhou Yun somewhat understood why Xue Qin wanted to try this scene; the main function of the character Meng Fanyan is the impact of the contrast between his ”good image” at the start and his ”bad image” at the end on Wan Duoyan.

Therefore, establishing this ”good image” from the beginning is a key factor for the success of Meng Fanyan’s character.

Wui Zhichang came dressed in a white shirt, black dress pants, and leather shoes, exhibiting an elite style.

He sat in the chair, leisurely took off his glasses and placed them in the case, then took out a notebook and began to write and draw.

Throughout the process, his demeanor exuded a lazy and elegant temperament.

The second actor auditioning for Meng Fanyan looked much better than Wui Zhichang in terms of appearance.

Wui Zhichang’s appearance wasn’t bad; he was handsome, refined, and had an elite look.

But the second actor had a strikingly handsome appearance.

He had a pair of eyes that seemed to draw women in deeply.

The moment Zhou Yun laid eyes on this actor, she sighed. She knew Wui Zhichang’s chances were slim. Sometimes, that’s how casting goes. One person might have prepared thoroughly, perfecting every detail from their hair to their fingernails, fitting the role a hundred percent. But then another person comes along, without any preparation, and just with a smile or a glance, there’d be an illusion as if their soul was possessed—Okay, that’s the character, he is the character.

The two people auditioning for Wan Long were both college students, matching the age requirement, and their performances varied greatly. Zhou Yun felt there wasn’t much suspense; the boy named You Tianda was basically Wan Long incarnate, having a somewhat ragged and unruly temperament, speaking with droopy eyes. The other boy was too green, seeming mild-mannered ordinarily, and his forced swagger made the performance rather obvious.

After the auditions ended, Xue Qin asked the six people to leave and did not announce the results on the spot.

After the candidates left, the few people gathered for a meeting.

Shi Luoqi asked Zhou Yun, ”Xiao Yun, do you have any thoughts?”

Zhou Yun smiled and said, ”I’ve pretty much formed an opinion.”

Shi Luoqi nodded and said to Xue Qin, ”My feelings today are the same as my judgment last time.”

Xue Qin nodded, ”Same here.”

Shi Luoqi said, ”Let’s all write down our choices and see if they match.”

The staff brought paper and pens for the three of them.

As expected, their choices were identical: Zhang Mo, Feng Chaotian, Luo Zhiheng.

Xue Qin looked at Zhou Yun with some surprise, seemingly not expecting Zhou Yun’s choices to match her own.

Zhou Yun smiled, ”Actually, it’s a pity for another actor competing for the role of Meng Fanyan, Wui Zhichang. He also performed very well and obviously prepared very conscientiously, but Feng Chaotian has a huge advantage in terms of appearance.”

”Director Xue said the exact same thing,” Shi Luoqi said with a smile, ”Your opinions are really aligned.”

Zhou Yun looked at Xue Qin, surprised.

But Xue Qin coughed lightly and picked up her phone, as if someone had sent her a message.

”Let’s finalize the actors then,” Shi Luoqi said, ”I’ll go sign contracts with the three of them and we’ll meet later to read the script together.”

Zhou Yun nodded.

Shi Luoqi asked, ”Have you had the makeup test?”

Zhou Yun replied, ”I tried the makeup once before, but haven’t been told the results yet.”

Xue Qin commented, ”Not much difference, the main thing is that you are still too slim now, your face needs to fill out more.”

Zhou Yun nodded, ”I’m already trying to eat more, hoping to meet the requirements before shooting starts.”

”It’s not a hope, you must achieve it,” Xue Qin stated, ”Wan Duoyan is not a beautiful and fashionable girl; she isn’t so concerned about her looks.”

”Alright, I will do it,” Zhou Yun asserted, ”I’ll add more to my meals and eat two pieces of chocolate before bed.”

After the auditions, Zhou Yun was going to visit the company and meet with Zhou Lan.

Once in the car, Zhou Yun called Gu Huaichun.

”Wui Zhichang actually performed quite well, but the other actor competing against him fit the image better, so we went with the other person.”

Gu Huaichun said, ”He already told me. He knew he had no chance after the audition.”

”Ah?” Zhou Yun didn’t expect Wui Zhichang to be so perceptive.

Gu Huaichun continued, ”He said when you saw the other person, your eyes looked different.”

Zhou Yun sighed, ”I feel quite sorry.”

”What’s there to be sorry about? Isn’t this the nature of acting? You might not succeed even after a hundred auditions,” Gu Huaichun remarked, ”You and I are just the lucky ones. I have many classmates who can only play minor roles with a few lines. They are not inferior to me, some even perform better than I do. Sometimes I feel embarrassed to see them.”

”Comparing myself with them, the only extra I have is a bit of luck, and for that, I feel apologetic,” Zhou Yun said, ”I know the feeling, I’ve felt it too.”
