Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 478: Chapter 375: Marketing Methods (3)

...

Late night.

Zhou Yun made a cup of coffee and brought it to Song Chi.

”Go back and rest first,” said Song Chi. ”It’s going to be a while before I’m done here.”

”It’s alright, I can’t sleep at this hour anyway.” Zhou Yun sat down next to Song Chi, stroked his face, and said, ”I don’t have work tomorrow morning, so I’ll keep you company for a bit. When I feel sleepy, I’ll just nap on the sofa in your rest area, don’t mind me.”

Song Chi smiled, ”Thanks for keeping me company.”

”I just feel helpless that I can’t do anything to help,” said Zhou Yun. ”It would be great if I knew how to solve this situation.”

”It’s not something you need to worry about, we have professionals dealing with these matters,” said Song Chi. ”Don’t worry. Everyone in my team is an expert in their own field, we’ve already completed what we needed to do quite well. Now it’s up to them.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Although I’ve joined the cast, for any promotional events that I can help with, you can count on me. Be it live streaming or interviews, I’ll cooperate, just like you.”

”I know.”

Zhou Yun leaned her head on Song Chi’s shoulder and together they gazed out at the city’s night view through the window.

It was late at night, yet the city lights still twinkled like stars.

”It’s really not easy for a show to go from production to broadcast,” Zhou Yun remarked softly.

”But still, many people love this industry,” Song Chi replied.

Zhou Yun nodded.

It was 4 a.m. by the time all the departments had their plans ready and another meeting was held to go over the plans, after which Song Chi finally took Zhou Yun home.

During the day, others would execute the plan.

Zhou Yun slept until nearly noon before waking up. When she opened her eyes, Song Chi was already out of bed.

She got out of bed, left the bedroom, and heard Song Chi talking on the phone.

He was on the Balcony.

Zhou Yun didn’t disturb him, poured herself a glass of water, and drank it.

After a while, Song Chi finished his call and turned back inside.

”What shall we have for lunch?” asked Song Chi.

Zhou Yun shook her head, ”No time for lunch, I have to leave soon. Xiaoju bought me some bread, I’ll eat it on the way.”

A look of concern flashed across Song Chi’s face.

Zhou Yun quickly raised her hand, ”Stop, stop, stop! I really don’t want to hear any of this ’I’m worried about you’ talk. A young person like me doesn’t need to be fretted over just for staying up all night.”

Song Chi giggled at the interrupted sentiment.

”How’s the situation today?” Zhou Yun asked.

”Pretty good, we’ve methodically publicized Director Kang’s directing skills, especially the big scene coordination from the first two episodes last night,” Song Chi said. ”We arranged for a technical expert to disguise themselves as a random onlooker and make professional analysis posts about many aspects of the first and second episodes. The publicity this morning was quite effective.”

Zhou Yun smiled and said, ”That publicity girl on your team is really skillful; she even came up with such a tricky marketing strategy.”

Nowadays, everyone’s publicity approach is trending towards blunt simplicity because the simpler and more straightforward, the easier it is to go viral.

Yet the publicity strategy finalized last night went against the grain—if ”Heart Inquiry” is shot so impressively, then alright, we’ll earnestly tell the audience exactly where the show excels.

Sure enough, these technically complex yet impressive posts unexpectedly hit a sensitive spot on the internet.

”6666666!”

”Awesome, still sharp as ever!”

”As expected of the national team’s Director Kang, this kind of film still needs the old generation of Artists to helm to be made right.”

...

Most people joining the discussion hadn’t actually watched the show, but the technical posts themselves were akin to a spoiler. After reading the technical analysis, it gave people an illusion that they had seen the show, and thus, their enthusiasm to participate in the discussion skyrocketed.

When Zhou Yun set out to work in her car, unsurprisingly, the technical post had gone viral in marketing circles.

Zhou Yun understood that this is the kind of marketing Song Chi mentioned, one that wouldn’t affect the show’s inherent quality and reputation.
