Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 453: Chapter 356: This Autumn (Part 2)

Zhou Yun rested her hand on Yuk Chu’s shoulder, shaking her head, saying, ”Anyway, when I was filming ’Heart Inquiry,’ I didn’t dare to eat anything extra.”

Gu Huaichun clicked his tongue twice, saying, ”It’s tough for everyone.”

At this moment, the tall and slim Wen Xi walked over with an elegant and flawless posture, looking at Zhou Yun and everyone else, asking, ”What’s tough?”

Gu Huaichun stared at Wen Xi for a long time but ultimately didn’t have the nerve to mention how hard they worked to maintain their figures.

In front of Wen Xi, no one dared to say their life was tough.

As a top supermodel representing China in the world’s Top, Wen Xi was extremely strict with herself to the point of being harsh. It was only through a documentary about her that everyone understood what it takes to become a top supermodel. Strict diet and calorie intake for three meals a day, not one bit of excess calories entering her body, maintaining fitness and exercise routines daily for ten years, never staying up late, keeping regular schedules, all these efforts were to ensure that she could step onto the T stage at any time, just like she had been for the past ten years.

Zhou Yun held Wen Xi’s hand, saying, ”It’s nothing, thank you for coming today.”

Wen Xi hugged her and said, ”Let’s not be formal. You performed wonderfully, I really enjoyed this film.”

These people were all friends of Zhou Yun. Among them, some knew each other, and some did not. Today, the opportunity gathered them all together to talk, chat, and slowly get to know each other.

Finally, Liu Yuqian also hurried over at the end.

And the biggest surprise of the night came when Yao Yuanfeng told her in the late night that the first day’s box office pre-sales had exceeded ten million.

A first day’s box office pre-sale of ten million may not be considered an achievement for many films, and might even be deemed poor. But for ”Life,” it meant a lot. A prestigious box office forecasting agency predicted that ”Life” could very likely break one hundred million in box office, which was good news for Zhou Yun.

Often, people measure an actor by one standard: whether the actor can carry the box office.

This standard is commercial, but it’s also realistic.

Why does Shen Yao hold such a high status in the film industry? Because the box office of the movies he stars in is so impressively high, he’s a milestone no one in the cinema industry can ignore.

If Zhou Yun’s first film could break one hundred million at the box office, a new label would be added to her: box office puller.

For many production companies, this is the primary factor in deciding whether or not to use an actor.

What Zhou Lan was most concerned about previously was whether the art film ”Life” might perform poorly at the box office, causing the industry to doubt Zhou Yun’s ability to carry the box office.

”Life” was finally set to premiere.

Zhou Yun would be lying if she said she wasn’t nervous. She intentionally drank a little more at the post-screening party, hoping to sleep more peacefully at night without worrying about the next day’s box office results.

The film crew sent out every guest’s post-screening thoughts, and the general message was ”highly praised.”

Invited film doctors posted reviews on social media, and to everyone’s surprise, they were all positive.

Even the most critical film critics did not attack the film’s sincerity, only mentioning that the balance between artistic quality and creative form was not perfect, requiring Zhou Yun’s performance to buffer the abruptness of the creative form.

This was actually a good review as well.

On the premiere day, Song Chi, Gu Huaichun, Yin Zhou, Li Ci, Wen Xi, Yuk Chu, Liu Yuqian, Wang Jing, and others all posted on Weibo to promote ”Life.”

Zhou Yun started the roadshow.

First day box office results: 23 million.

Yao Yuanfeng instantly sent dozens of red packets in the ”Life” production group chat.

This was a remarkable first-day box office result.

Zhou Yun shared the celebration poster released by the film crew.

To her surprise, someone coldly mocked under her Weibo post: first-day box office at only 23 million? This is what’s called the hottest female celebrity of the year?

This comment was really an eyesore.

But Zhou Lan was clearly prepared; her arranged PR team promptly deployed a large number of internet commentators under this Weibo post: for a film with a cost of less than 5 million, a first-day box office of 23 million, which other films can achieve such a return on investment?

Meanwhile, the arranged press releases by Zhou Lan also went up.

A first-day box office of 23 million had Zhou Lan sighing in relief. With a sharp weapon in hand, she fought with confidence.

All over the internet and social media platforms, the news of Zhou Yun’s new film’s massive box office success was everywhere.

In just one day, New Shield and Chengqian Entertainment jointly spent nearly two million on promotional expenses.

This doesn’t even account for the expenditures before and after.

But the burning of promotional funds brought about visibly effective results: the next day, the box office didn’t decline but rather increased, reaching 30 million. Just in two days, the box office broke 50 million.

This number was once Zhou Lan’s beautiful hope for the film ”Life,” and it was realized in just two days.

They all underestimated this film’s infectious power among the youth.

In this peaceful and prosperous era, the love and breakup stories are the smoke and chaos of young people’s lives, and every scene they saw in ”Life” could find a corresponding moment in their memories.

Thus, many girls cried tears streaming, and many boys also had teary eyes.

How many people haven’t fervently loved someone from the bottom of their hearts, and how many have walked to the wedding site with the person they loved most initially?

Love is such a thing that, when spoken about as time passes, fundamentally, it can’t be fully let go.

It’s a season of falling leaves, with a chilling wind, dim moonlight, yellowing leaves, and the evening air growing cold.

After watching this film, walking in this beautiful season, they reminisced about their significant other, looked up at the sky, and then waved goodbye to someone who had been gone for a long time.

Cheers to this autumn.
