Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Just now, the reporter from Wanhai made a small mistake, and everyone was discovered to be in a predicament by the rebel soldiers. If his child cried in fear… he didn’t even dare to think about the consequences.

The mother raised her hand and hugged her son’s head. She kissed the little boy’s forehead deeply. ”Qi, be good. Sleep for a while more. When you wake up, we’ll be home soon.”

With his parents accompanying him and the soldiers protecting him, Qi, who was afraid of the gunshots, quietened down. He hugged his father’s neck tightly and closed his eyes.

The little boy’s relaxation made his father heave a sigh of relief. Then, his tense body leaned against the cold and uneven broken wall behind him. The night wind wrapped in gunpowder blew through the gap. He realized that he was sweating because of his son’s words.

He was even prepared to cover his son’s mouth if he cried out.

Fortunately, his son was sensible and didn’t cause a huge commotion.

He hugged his son with one hand and stroked his wife’s thin back with the other. He didn’t forget to kiss the top of his wife’s head. ”Don’t be afraid. We can’t let anything happen to us for Qi’s sake.”

For the sake of their son, the couple couldn’t collapse. Xia Jinyuan, who rushed out in front, had already disregarded his life and death. He rushed out from the cover and quickly rolled forward. He found the next cover. The bullets passed by his right shoulder, and dense bullet holes formed on his cover.

The flying dust and fragments formed a net that blurred his vision. A few specks of dust entered his eyes. Xia Jinyuan, whose eyes were hurting slightly, took a deep breath and rolled forward fearlessly.

He could only roll forward. There was no way he could run in the rain of bullets.

The well-prepared rebels had powerful firepower. They even mistook the target of the firefight for Amherst, a high-ranking official who had escaped, and asked for support.

The rebel soldiers who were attacking the nightclub with all their might didn’t think that Amherst had escaped. They thought that it might be the government forces who were helping Amherst leave. The rebels on both sides communicated for a short time and simply treated both places as their main targets. They increased their firepower and suppressed the other party completely.

White Crane heard the sound of empty bullets coming from the magazine and quickly retracted his rifle. He crawled back to his cover and changed into a new magazine as quickly as possible.

They could feel the increase in firepower from the other party. Major David’s expression turned even more serious. They should retreat. If they didn’t, everyone would meet God.

”We need to retreat immediately!” Major David gritted his teeth and said in a low voice through the earpiece, ”The rebels have strong firepower. We can’t fight with them until the end. China, we have to retreat!”

Bullets flew past his ears. Major David, who had eaten a mouthful of gunpowder and dust, was pressed down by the increased firepower and couldn’t raise his head.

Damn it! He had to think of a way to retreat!

Even if they wanted to retreat, they had to bring the reporters they saved along. Whether they could get out alive or not required God’s blessing. After shouting, Major David pounced to the side, avoiding the crumbling wall.

Bricks rolled down, and dust flew everywhere. Major David, who was hiding hurriedly, saw the lethal bullets grazing through the air. He pulled a line of fire and fired at the ruins they were hiding in.

Xia Jinyuan, who was suppressed by the rebels’ firepower and couldn’t move, panted. He replied Major David calmly, ”Major, arrange for two or three soldiers to leave with the reporters. We’ll hold them off first.”

”Okay!” Major David agreed. He would take them away while they could still hold on.
