Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Xia Jinyuan, who was making the last adjustment, knew that Major David had his best interests at heart. He smiled slightly. ”Major, thank you for your advice, but I have to save her. I have the responsibility to protect any Chinese citizen.”

Even if the person outside who urgently needed to be rescued didn’t recognize herself as a Chinese citizen…

Major David was silent. After a few seconds, he replied, ”Okay, I respect your choice. We’ll cooperate with your rescue! I hope you can come back alive.”

”I’ll come back alive.” Xia Jinyuan held the grenade tightly, and the smile on his handsome face deepened. His little fox was still waiting for him. How could he break his promise?

”One, two, three… Suppress!”

As Xia Jinyuan’s cold voice came from the earpieces, the comrades of the Xueyu unit focused their firepower on the main attack. Major David and the rest split up the firepower of the rebels. The two sides cooperated, and gunshots rained down.

Chen Shuzhen was dumbfounded. She hugged her head and couldn’t even scream anymore. Her entire body was trembling like a dog that had fallen into the water in winter. She no longer had the arrogance she had in the past.

In the ruins, Chen Shuzhen’s two colleagues were already hugging each other in fear. They didn’t even know that Chen Shuzhen wasn’t hiding at all.

A life-or-death situation was the best way to test human nature. For instance, the two male reporters, who usually curried favor with Chen Shuzhen because she was a lady, slipped away faster than anyone when it came to facing death.

If she lost her life, everything would be for nothing.

At this moment, the couple was hugging their son tightly. The family of three squeezed together, warming each other up and leaning on each other. In the dark, the fear in their eyes was something they would never experience again.

”Daddy, I’m scared.”

The little boy’s soft voice floated into his father’s ears clearly. His father, who was also afraid, could easily put on a facade in front of his son who needed his protection. He kissed his son’s delicate little face and comforted him very softly, ”Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid. We’re brave men. Don’t be afraid.

”Do you know who has been protecting us? They’re the men of the People’s Liberation Army. With them around, we don’t have to be afraid.”

”What does the People’s Liberation Army do? Why are they here? Why don’t we have to be afraid?” Although the little boy was afraid, he didn’t know what life and death meant. His attention was quickly diverted as he asked his father curiously.

”The soldiers from the People’s Liberation Army can knock down bad people and save us. They’re very powerful. They’re even more powerful than Superman. As long as we have them, we’ll be safe.

”Weren’t you separated from us previously? In the end, it was the soldiers from the People’s Liberation Army who sent you back to us and even saved us. Qi, don’t you think the People’s Liberation Army is very powerful?”

The ignorant child didn’t understand much. After his father’s explanation, he still didn’t quite understand. He blinked his innocent eyes and whispered, ”Will we be safe as long as the soldiers don’t leave? Will the soldiers send us home?”

”The People’s Liberation Army will send us home. That’s why you don’t have to be afraid. With the soldiers from the People’s Liberation Army and Daddy and Mommy around, you don’t have to be afraid.”

His father coaxed him patiently. He was so afraid that his hands and feet were trembling, but he tried his best to control his voice. It sounded very calm, making his son feel safe.

He had to coax the child. He was afraid that his son would cry from fear.
