Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

At this moment, Ye Jian regretted not controlling her emotions. She had made them worry. Sometimes, she found it hard to control her emotions when it came to Captain Xia’s matters.

Rubbing her face, she looked up and gave the female soldiers a bright smile. ”It’s okay, it’s okay. I’ll be fine after resting for a while. Rest early. We’ll gather for exercise in an hour and a half.”

Due to the all-night skydiving, the original time of gathering and exercising at 5:30 am was delayed to 6:30 am. The soldiers were given one and a half hours more to rest and adjust. They were to gather and exercise at 6:30 am sharp and could not take leave.

The female soldiers who were training closely with the male soldiers weren’t as relaxed as they were half a year ago. After joining the Special Reconnaissance Team, they went from ordinary airborne soldiers to special airborne soldiers. The difficulty of their training increased.

The training during the day wouldn’t be delayed because of the all-night skydiving. This time, they could delay the gathering for one and a half hours. This was already a huge concession from Captain Lei.

Ye Jian didn’t want to affect everyone’s rest because of her. She chased them to the bed. ”Sleep. Sleep. We’ll gather in an hour and a half.”

In the future, she had to learn to control her emotions. Now, all the female soldiers, including the squad leader and deputy squad leader, centered around her. Her words and actions would directly affect the female soldiers’ words and actions. She had to be careful.

This was the only time she lost control of her emotions.

As she spoke, Ye Jian, who had already restrained her emotions, sent the female soldiers to their beds. Then, she climbed onto the upper berth and lay down. Fang Xin, who was sleeping on the lower berth, suddenly whispered, ”Lieutenant Ye, have you ever thought about going to do peacekeeping?”

Ever since Ye Jian mentioned ’peacekeeping soldiers’, Fang Xin didn’t feel sleepy anymore. She lay on the bed and rolled over twice. She mustered her courage and asked Ye Jian the question.

Fang Xin was a reserved and shy female soldier. She kept a low profile and was steady in everything she did. Captain Lei liked her personality.

Ye Jian liked it too.

Hearing her whisper, Ye Jian leaned out of the upper berth and looked down at Fang Xin, who was not sleepy. ”Why? Do you have any thoughts about going for peacekeeping?”

”Yes, I want to, but I don’t think I’ll be able to due to our military unit’s nature. Most of the peacekeeping soldiers sent out are from the army,” Fang Xin said softly. She didn’t want everyone to know. ”I thought about it when I was still in my old military unit, but I know that the chance is very small.”

It was so small that it was almost zero.

The probability of sending an airborne military unit for peacekeeping was very small. It was so small that it was negligible.

”It’s more dangerous to go out for peacekeeping than what we see on television. There are all kinds of variables and dangers that we don’t know about. The peacekeeping soldiers put their lives on the line every day. They might die at any time.

”Peacekeeping isn’t as simple as you think. The danger is deeper than you think. When you’re outside the peacekeeping camp, artillery fire will fall at any time.”

Ye Jian said in a low voice to Fang Xin and the female soldiers who weren’t sleeping, ”Peacekeeping is a bridge of peace built with blood and bones. As long as the war doesn’t end, the bridge will never be destroyed.”

This was spirit and love forged with life.

All kinds of things that had happened in the past flashed past her mind. Ye Jian closed her eyes to hide the emotions in them. ’Captain Xia, please come back safely. Please remember our agreement.

’If you go far away, I will wait for you.’

Fang Xin remained silent for a long time. After a while, her lips moved and closed again. She didn’t ask anymore. She closed her eyes as if she had fallen asleep.
