Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Wanhai was a special case. It was impossible not to save those reporters. They could be saved, but it depended on how they were saved.

After passing through the relatively quiet streets and crossing over to the South District, the scene became a little clearer. The streets on both sides had become much livelier. You could even see a few children kicking a football that was so dilapidated that its original color couldn’t be seen.

Here, the most common forms of leisure and entertainment were hard to come by. In war-torn countries, survival was the foundation of the citizens. What was leisure and entertainment? Some children had never enjoyed the joys of childhood since they were born.

Eight kilometers away from the South District, there was a heavy fire zone where the two armies were fighting two days ago. One of the shells accidentally entered the civilian area, and there were heavy casualties. That day, Xia Jinyuan and his comrades even saved the injured here, but they didn’t participate in the firefight.

Unless it was absolutely necessary, the soldiers of the peacekeeping forces were not allowed to participate in the crossfire between the two countries. This was the rule.

T6, who got out of the car, looked down at the football that had accidentally hit him. He waved at the boy standing timidly not far away. The boy didn’t dare to come over because of their combat uniforms. T6 shouted in English, asking him to retreat further. He then kicked the football over.

The most common activities in the team were basketball and football. T6 played football well. He raised his leg and kicked the old football.

According to his calculations, this kick would definitely reach the side of the boy who had retreated much farther. However, he didn’t calculate whether the football could withstand his kick. He only heard a bang and several bullets being loaded beside him. The relaxed atmosphere instantly tensed up as they entered combat preparations in seconds.

T6 looked at the football that was kicked through. His gaze was blank.

He saw the distrust and fear in the boy’s eyes when he looked at him. He wanted to kick the football over and let him pick it up. He was doing it out of goodwill… That was all!

”F*ck! You scared me!”

V8, who was quickly hiding behind the armored vehicle, looked at T6’s right leg and cursed. He put away his gun and walked out. He said coldly, ”He kicked the little kid’s football until it exploded. Are we going to compensate him with another football or what?”

The boy who was waiting for the ball to be kicked over almost cried when he saw this.

Then, a few boys, who were scattered everywhere, walked out timidly from various corners. They looked at their only football with confused eyes. It was the ball that could give them the most joy. They saw that the round football had been kicked through and was still hanging on the foot of a soldier from an unknown country. Everyone revealed sad expressions.

They had been playing with the ball for a few years. They were afraid of it spoiling. Every time, they would only play football for a while… That was all. In the future, they would never play football again.

Children looked the most innocent when they were sad, and it was infectious. Even Xia Jinyuan was affected by their sadness. His mood was so heavy that it was oppressive.

”T6!” He shouted in a low voice. ”How long are you going to stay stunned? Take down the football!”

T6, who knew that he had done a huge bad thing, quickly bent down and took down the football that he had kicked until it was flat. He touched it in his hand and said with embarrassment, ”What should I do, Captain? This… I can’t fix it.”

He was about to cry himself.

Xia Jinyuan took the football and looked at it. There was a huge hole in the top. There was no way to repair it. But where could they get a football now? A shop? Where could they buy a football?
