Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 241: Chapter 232: Eloping with Someone

”Even if you tie me up in a sack, fill it with cement, and throw me into the sea to feed sharks, it’s still a fact.”

”Go prepare a sack if she can’t explain herself, and just put it over her!” Teng Daye angrily said to the bodyguard.

”What causes anorexia? You think just getting some Chinese medicine, taking some appetite-inducing pills, or treating her with Western medicine for vomiting will make her better? Let me tell you, it’s not someone else who makes her sick, it’s you.” Qian pointed at the billionaire in front of her with a very professional attitude.

”If you want to listen, I’ll explain thoroughly. Anorexia almost only occurs among women. Today’s social standards demand girls to be soft and slender. Human beings have a herd mentality, some women keep pressuring themselves to become slimmer to gain acceptance, thus disrupting normal eating patterns. When faced with setbacks, they may feel unwelcome, become self-conscious, especially if there’s a parent-child conflict, the probability of anorexia or bulimia skyrockets.”

Qian’s professional explanation made Teng Daye sneer in contempt.

”Nonsense, my daughter, how could she be self-conscious? What doesn’t she have? Everything she eats, wears, or uses is the best, even the school she attends is a prestigious school that costs hundreds of thousands a year. She could be self-conscious?”

Qian snickered, ”Do you think you’ve given her the best? Her self-esteem issues likely stem from parent-child conflicts. In her heart, she doesn’t understand why she is a child without parental companionship? Can the best material conditions satisfy a child’s longing for family? Where were you when other kids had their parents around?”

Some patients with anorexia nervosa developed it due to family conflicts, facing social pressure, coupled with adolescent confusion, resulting in emotional conflict, eventually leading to anorexia.

”She knew from a young age her father was a businessman, busy making money every day. If I don’t work, what will I provide for her in terms of generous material conditions?”

”Teng Shuixian is an inherently introverted child, overly dependent on family, very sensitive, her mother is no longer here, the only one she can rely on is you. If you had spared a bit of your time making money to spend with her, having meals with her daily, would she be like this now?”

Though anorexia has potential links with genetics or hypothalamic-pituitary disorders, family systems theory in psychology believes the root of anorexia nervosa lies in a bad family environment.

”Complete rubbish, nonsense, incomprehensible.” Teng Daye felt as if a sharp sword pierced his heart, realizing his most cherished daughter’s illness was because of him seemed absurd.

”I’ve heard tales of your achievements from my elder brother. You built your empire from scratch, which is very commendable, frank, courageous, and a brilliant entrepreneur, but as a father, you have failed. Why is your daughter able to eat those hard-to-swallow leek pies?”

”If she’s hungry enough, she’ll eat anything!”

”Concealing illness from a doctor is the foolish act. Even you think that’s unreasonable, don’t you? She couldn’t eat a few mouthfuls in a week, anorexia makes her hardly feel hunger. I don’t know much about your past, but I guess, maybe when you weren’t this busy, you might have cooked her meals like that, and she subconsciously remembers that taste.”

Qian’s words stunned Teng Daye, it was as if fragments appeared in his mind but were blurry due to time.

”You find it unpalatable, but to her, food accompanied by her father might be the tastiest.”

Qian turned to leave, took two steps, then paused.

”You can come any time to put a sack over me, you know where my home is, but as a doctor, I must do what I should. As a father, did you do everything you should have, think about it yourself.”

The two bodyguards instinctively blocked Qian.

”Do you treat every patient like this? Or is it because Teng Shuixian is my daughter you think there’s a benefit?” Teng Daye’s voice carried a slight, almost undetectable weariness.

A long-seasoned old hand, unexpectedly poked at the sorest part of his heart by a teenage girl, weary and upset.

”There are two kinds of people who can be my patients: one who is extremely rich that I can bleed them dry, and one who just has pleasing looks that make me comfortable providing free service. Although Shuixian’s identity should be the first type, I can tell you, I have a connection with her. Even if she wasn’t your daughter, Mr. Teng, if she was just the daughter of a roadside fried churros vendor, I’d still save her—”

Qian paused, calmly glanced at Teng Daye, ”Maybe if she were a churro vendor’s daughter, she wouldn’t be sick either.”

Turning around, with a calm but irresistible tone said to the two bodyguards.

”Step aside for me.”

The bodyguards were unexpectedly intimidated by her aura, involuntarily parted, and Qian strode past them arrogantly.

After she had left, the two bodyguards only then recovered, how could they have let her go?

They hurriedly asked Teng Daye.

”Boss, should we bring her back?”

Teng Daye waved weakly, the stab Qian gave hit too painfully.

Qian went out and saw Teng Shuixian standing expressionlessly at the door, who knows how much she had heard.

Teng Daye saw her too and panicked.

”Shuixian, why are you here?”

Did his daughter hear?

Teng Shuixian acted as if she didn’t see him, and turned to Qian.

”I want to go with you.”

”Your legs are your own, you are free to choose.” Qian shrugged.

”Where are you going?” Teng Daye stepped forward.

Teng Shuixian pointed at him, ”Don’t follow us, or I’ll run to places you’ll never find!”

She turned back to Qian, ”Take me away!”

Teng Daye could only watch helplessly as his daughter, under his nose, left home with a brazen young girl.

”Boss, should we protect them secretly?” a bodyguard asked.

Teng Daye waved his hand, ”Follow from a distance, don’t let her notice.”

Qian led Teng Shuixian out of the door, they took a taxi, and Qian brought her home.

Jia Xiufang saw her daughter leading a skinny young girl back, the two were holding hands.

”Qian’er, who is this?”

”Mom, this is my friend, you can call her Shuixian.”

”Hello, Auntie.” Teng Shuixian curiously looked around Qian’s home, Qian led her to her room.

Qian’s room was just a small attic, minimal space, she invited her to sit down, Teng Shuixian looked around.

”Are you shocked by the life of a commoner? Your bathroom must be bigger than my room, right?” Qian joked.

Teng Shuixian nodded, ”Yes, but I used to live in such houses a long time ago.”
