Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 234: Chapter 225: Food Is Heaven

”Immediately find someone to buy the things I asked you to deliver. Send me to the hotel under your name during this time. I need to discuss tomorrow’s menu with the head chef. Tell them to fully cooperate with me; whether it succeeds depends on their performance.”

”...is it that simple?” Yu Mingli had been worried about this for a long time.

”Treat the dead horse like a living one; anyway, even if I don’t get involved, you can’t win this bid. This is the worst situation.”

Qian spoke with full confidence, and Yu Mingli could only half-believe and half-doubt, sending Qian to the kitchen.

The chairman brought this young girl into the kitchen, making everyone in the kitchen anxious.

”From now on, listen to her.”

”Yes!”

Qian gathered everyone in the kitchen and swept them with her gaze.

”Who among you has the worst cooking skills here? Preferably the apprentice type.”

The chefs looked at each other. What is she trying to do? Is she planning to lay off staff?

No one wanted to admit they were not skilled in front of the big boss.

Qian repeated her question, and seeing no one willing to admit it, Yu Mingli told the head chef.

”You say it.”

The head chef, seeing the chairman speak, didn’t dare to hide anything. He pointed to the chef with the shortest hat who had just arrived and said, ”It should be Little Ma, who just graduated from chef school. His skills are actually not bad, though they can’t compare to those of the master chefs, but they are not inferior to the ordinary junior chefs either. Boss, everyone comes from their youth, give him a chance to learn well.”

Qian looked at the person the head chef mentioned, nodded with satisfaction.

”Alright, it’s him. You, step forward.”

Qian spent nearly 3 hours in Yu Mingli’s kitchen. At first, Yu Mingli was watching from the sidelines, but after a while, he couldn’t keep watching.

As there was an urgent matter at the company, he left first. When he came back a few hours later, Qian had already finished the product, satisfied, praising the young chef endlessly.

”Young man, make sure to perform at today’s level tomorrow, don’t make any mistakes.”

”Sis, am I really up to it...” The young chef looked at the stuff he made, apprehensive inside.

Making this for an important client, will I really not get fired by the boss?

”Is it done?” Yu Mingli came in. Qian handed him a pair of chopsticks.

Yu Mingli took a look, casually picked a bite, and was stunned the moment it entered his mouth.

”This...”

”Brother, how is it?” Qian looked at him expectantly.

Mr. Yu swallowed the food with difficulty and angrily gulped the water beside him.

”Qian, are you trying to kill your brother?”

The chef next to him saw the boss eat it and shrank back in fear.

That’s it, his bright future is over! He wonders if he’s about to be fired.

”Brother, you must trust me. From now on, we’ll be allies on the same boat. We stand to gain or lose together.”

Qian was too satisfied with the food she had muddled with for so long, Now whether it succeeds or fails, it’s all about this.

”I’m not doubting you now; I doubt my life.” Yu Mingli drank several mouthfuls before suppressing the strange taste in his mouth.

”The world seen through normal eyes is different from that seen by people around me. Brother, once it succeeds, remember to give your young employee a raise.”

Looking at the seemingly ordinary food, there was a subtle mystery hidden within it.

In her past life, Qian had explored and summarized a lot to treat this big client. The food close to Teng Shuixian was a result of her extensive investigation around Teng Shuixian and exhaustive attempts after countless communications.

The advantage of reincarnation showed; in her previous life, the method took many attempts to find, but now, she’s walked the shortcut.

Yu Mingli was still uneasy, but Qian was right. In this situation, only treating the dead horse like a living one can work. He himself sensed that if nothing was done, this oily bid was sure to be lost.

When sending Qian home, Yu Mingli said to her.

”Qian, how confident are you about this bid?”

”More than fifty percent.” The main reason Qian helped her brother wasn’t the bid; she really wanted to meet her past life’s patient early.

”...too confident. I just called to invite Mr. Teng and got rejected.”

”Do as I say, send the stuff to his house. I’ll send this. Right now, he’s probably still at the office and not at home. It’s the best time to send it.” Qian handed him a note she wrote.

”Won’t it provoke Mr. Teng’s displeasure? I feel he seems to protect his family much.”

”It’s precisely because he values family concepts heavily that we should deliver the things to his daughter. You wait for him to call you proactively.” Qian unbuckled her seatbelt, ready to get out; she opened the door but didn’t rush to exit and spoke to Yu Mingli half-smiling.

”Brother, I know what kind of people I’m dealing with and know his surname. It’s because I know his surname that I am clear about what I should do. With Yu Minglang, however far the future goes, I don’t know; but as long as he is my boyfriend, I stand on your, Yu Mingli’s, boat, every single day. That’s a sure thing; are you happy?”

After saying this, she slammed the door and left gracefully.

Yu Mingli, a veteran of many battles, took quite some time to recover from Qian’s words.

It felt to him, this was definitely not something a young girl could say, more like a seasoned old hand; the determined women he’d encountered rarely possessed the bravado Qian had.

”If Minglang doesn’t marry this girl back, and she ends up in a competitor’s family, our Yu family will suffer a great loss,” Yu Mingli muttered, shaking his head, Qian’s words echoing in his ear.

She said she knew Minglang’s surname, and knew clearly what she should do.

Yesterday she didn’t agree to Mr. Yu’s request, not wanting to be in a disadvantaged position by accepting others’ favors, nor wanting to be someone lower, waiting hand outstretched for help.

Today she made it clear, she’s part of the crew but not just a supplicant waiting for benefits.

As for whether she’s truthful, that will be made clear tomorrow.

When Qian entered the home, the gathering was already dispersed, and her uncle’s family was chatting with Jia Xiufang.

”Qian’er, you’re back.”

”Mm,” Qian replied indifferently to Auntie.

She glanced at Jia Xiufang’s face and guessed that the two families must have reached a consensus. On the day she went out for alignment and expressed her stance, her uncle should have already settled the matter.

Qian didn’t pry and used the excuse that she was tired to go upstairs. Jia Xiufang came up after a while.

”Qian’er, have you eaten?”

”I had dinner at Yu Minglang’s home.”

”Child, why didn’t you tell me before going to his house?”

”There isn’t much fuss at his place; I know my limits.”

Qian knows how to interact to ensure the Yu Family doesn’t dislike her, not waiting until Minglang is there to go, considering Mrs. Yu didn’t pick times Minglang was around to send food to her.

Relationships are cultivated over time, and as she has a long way to go with Minglang, maintaining harmonious relations with his family is beneficial to their future.

Just like she told Mr. Yu, she’s already standing on the boat, and that boat is surnamed Yu.
