Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 240: Chapter 231: Courting Disaster

”Did you also just take the small portion of the house, and give the large portion to your second uncle?” Qian drank her soup without raising her head.

Jia Xiufang felt guilty and worried her daughter would get angry, ”Qian’er, how did you know?”

”With your big-hearted nature, it would be strange if you didn’t do so. Forget it, less is less. If my grandpa were alive, he’d probably have done the same. As long as we made them uncomfortable, I’m satisfied.”

”Well, your second uncle’s family has so many people, and your two cousins aren’t married yet. I and your first uncle can spare them a bit, and our family needs to add some money to get a bigger one.”

”Fine, do as you wish.” Qian knew her mom would do this, which is why she didn’t stay; she was afraid she’d lose control.

Even if it’s just tomato and egg stir-fry without eggs for Jia Xiufang, that taste is home.

To bring her big-hearted mom to this point, Qian was satisfied.

The next afternoon, Jia Xiufang sent Qian out to buy soy sauce, and as soon as she walked out, she saw a Bentley parked at the door.

”Mr Chen, our Mr Teng would like to invite you over.” A driver spoke politely when he saw her come out.

Qian wasn’t surprised at all at how they found her home address; she opened the car door and got in.

”Take me to the small shop up ahead first; I need to buy a bottle of soy sauce.”

After buying the soy sauce, Qian told Jia Xiufang she wouldn’t be home for lunch.

”Qian’er, where are you going? I planned to take you and your brother shopping for clothes this afternoon.” Now that she had money, the thing she wanted most was to wipe out the shame from the divorce and buy some good clothes for her daughter and son, wear designer brands!

”I’m going out to treat the world—Mom, use this soy sauce well, it was bought riding a Bentley.”

Qian patted her mother’s hand and turned away.

Jia Xiufang looked at the soy sauce, utterly baffled.

”Ice pear? I have frozen pears myself!”

The driver took Qian to the city’s largest hotel. The Teng Family wasn’t based here; it was a temporary residence.

She met Teng Daye, dressed in a suit like yesterday, seeming as if he’d just returned from a drinking party, still smelling of alcohol, his face flushed.

Seeing Qian, he extended his hand, and they shook hands briefly.

”Miss Chen, sorry to bother you again. My daughter’s not feeling well today, and she doesn’t have any friends here. I hope you can keep her company.”

Teng Daye’s face was full of worry.

After returning from business, he heard from the accompanying bodyguard that his daughter had vomited after lunch. He was perplexed. Although it was the same dishes as yesterday, all from the restaurant, he’d specially requested them to be made well.

His daughter had eaten those unpleasant leek dumplings and fried fish before, so why couldn’t she swallow such delicate fried fish and dumplings today?

Teng Daye thought of Qian. Though he wasn’t sure if this girl approached his daughter for the Yu Family’s business, he’d seen Yu Mingli’s company’s proposal, which was excellently crafted and had significant collaboration potential. Offering the project to Yu Mingli was reasonable.

To have someone coaxing his daughter to eat, making her happier, he’d be willing to pay any amount.

”I’m fine with accompanying her, but Mr Teng, do you want me to be her companion as a friend, or as a doctor? I can responsibly tell you, if you don’t face Shuixian’s illness seriously, even if I persuade her to eat a meal or two, there will be no progress later on.”

”My daughter isn’t sick.”

”It’s not shameful to be ill. Anyone can have psychological issues. If treated early, I’m confident she’ll recover quickly.”

How long did it take Qian in the last life to cure Teng Shuixian?

An entire year.

This was based on Qian’s strong professional foundation. The most complicated anorexia treatment can take a long time, with some using several years, though a portion will self-recover after a few years.

This illness sounds simple—just not eating—but prolonged lack of food leads to various diseases and immeasurable effects on the body.

”I’ll stress again, my daughter is healthy; she just has picky eating habits, she isn’t sick!” Teng Daye’s face had turned very ugly.

Qian was fearless.

”Anorexia has the highest mortality rate among psychological illnesses! Only 50% of patients can be fully cured! When a patient’s weight falls below 65% of standard weight, the mortality rate is 15%, yet there’s also a 50% chance of self-recovery. Do you want to gamble your daughter’s youth on tomorrow?”

Hearing Qian mention death, Teng Daye’s face turned Qing Tie, he pointed a finger at Qian, and instantly two burly bodyguards surrounded her. Yet even in this situation, Qian remained unafraid.

”Trying to use this as a threat for me to cooperate with Yu Mingli? Aren’t you afraid you won’t get out that door?” Teng Daye, usually a calm middle-aged man, cared most about his daughter. Qian’s actions today had crossed his line.

Qian was fearless, ”You can give your business to whoever you want, I don’t mind, I’m just addressing the issue from a doctor’s perspective.”

In her past life, she remembered every patient distinctly. As she made large amounts from their medical fees, she also sincerely entered each of their psychological worlds, assisting them in freeing themselves from mental struggles, telling herself not to grow attached, yet each left an imprint in her heart.

”Take her out, never let me see her again!” Teng Daye knew this girl wasn’t simple. Yu Mingli had great influence, although in business, Teng was much stronger than Yu Mingli, the Yu Family’s background couldn’t be ignored.

”Tell me, how does it feel to watch her eat then vomit? Want to know what your daughter feels when she does? It’s simple, ask a Chinese doctor for some emetic medicine and experience her sensation.”

As the bodyguards dragged Qian out, Teng Daye was so enraged he’d lost his usual composure.

”Let me tell you, the Q City cooperation project, I’d rather casually give it to others than to Yu Mingli. We’ll never cooperate with him again!”

”Whether you cooperate or not, we don’t care for the cold-blooded money of a man who won’t care for his daughter. My brother has brains and is capable of making however much money he wants, he doesn’t lack your business, but how many daughters do you have?”

”Stop! Bring that girl back!”

Qian confidently walked back, her hand tucked in her pocket, exuding more presence than Teng Daye.

In her past life, she operated the country’s top private psychological counseling studio, generating millions in annual profit, having encountered countless important figures; Teng Daye was just one. To Qian, these people were merely tasks to handle like potatoes under a chef’s knife, facing her professionally. No matter how powerful one was, they’d act courteously before her.

”Explain to me how I don’t care for my daughter! If you can’t clarify, regardless of your backing, I won’t let you off!”
