Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 206: Chapter 206: Yep, No Problem

The boiler room looked about two stories high, with a large and a small boiler platform inside. The larger one was almost two stories high, and as you approached, you could hear the roaring sound of a steam train. When the group rushed in, the first floor was empty.

”The big one should be 20 tons, the small one estimated to be a few tons. With this setup, at least a few people should be on duty, why is there no one?” Qiao Zhen asked.

”The school wants to save money.”

Yu Minglang saw there was another basement level below. He exchanged a glance with his brother, picked up the shovel placed on the side, and silently went down.

Boiler rooms usually operate on three shifts. Currently, it’s the understaffed night shift. It’s the early heating period, and the heating requirements aren’t as strict, so the school saves costs by having only one person on the night shift. That person is probably the crime suspect.

Yu Minglang made an accurate judgment, silently heading downstairs with Qiao Zhen and his brother.

The way to the basement was a dilapidated iron ladder. The deliberately lowered footsteps of the three were drowned out by the sounds machines made, with the boiler conveyor belt making creaking sounds like the footsteps of death. The three held their breath.

The heat in the basement was very high. Yu Mingyi felt his palms covered with sweat, unsure if it was from the heat or nervousness. He had experienced many rescue operations but had never felt this tense before.

Unacceptable. The little girl he had saved from death over ten years ago had now become a lifeless corpse...

The few brief steps Yu Mingyi took were extremely slow. He forcibly suppressed the terrifying images in his mind, compelling himself to stay calm.

Yu Minglang led the way, using special military hand signals to communicate with Qiao Zhen, indicating for Qiao Zhen to distract the suspect while he launched a side attack. He also gestured for his second brother to rescue the hostage. The two nodded to show their understanding.

”You ungrateful woman, you’re a jinx. You’re lucky I’m willing to marry you, yet you refuse. A university student, huh? What does that matter? You’re still getting laid by me!”

The man’s voice echoed clearly. Yu Mingyi saw Dong Yi lying motionless near the boiler platform. The sleazy man was tearing at her clothes. She made no response, unsure if she had fainted or...

His expression turned solemn. Yu Minglang immediately turned back, tapped him twice to signal calmness, not to alert the snake.

An even more shocking sight was the wooden board placed near the large boiler, which made people speculate that after committing the crime, the suspect might intend to incinerate the body in the boiler!

This was terrifying, planning to destroy the body!

Dong Yi was wearing rather tight pants, which were difficult to take off. The man pulled at them twice unsuccessfully, swore, and stood up, seemingly looking for tools.

”Hey buddy, what are you doing?” Qiao Zhen suddenly spoke. The man was startled to see someone had come down, yelped in fright. Yu Minglang dashed over like a flash. The man reflexively tried to turn back to grab Dong Yi, already touching her clothes when Yu Minglang launched a kick directly at his arm, and the sound of bone breaking, paired with the man’s scream, instantly filled the basement.

”Damn, you’re quite bold, huh? To play such dangerous games on campus, you dare?!” Yu Minglang stepped on the man’s broken hand, asking viciously.

”I did nothing wrong, she’s my wife, she’s my—ah!” The man tried to argue but was silenced again by Yu Minglang’s kick, eyes rolling back in pain, nearly passing out.

Yu Mingyi picked up Dong Yi, checked carefully, her head was bleeding, seemingly struck by something heavy, but her breathing continued, she was alive. Yu Mingyi sighed a breath of relief.

Her clothing was a bit disheveled but intact. Thankfully, Yu Minglang and the others arrived in time, or else...

Qian had arrived by then too, stood on the stairs, took a peek, and dared to run down only after seeing the bad guy subdued.

”Da Yi!” She rushed over anxiously.

”She’s fainted, might have a concussion.” Yu Mingyi handed Dong Yi to Qian with a stern face, then stood up.

He pulled out his phone to prevent others from entering, only allowing the doctor in, immediately sending someone to fetch school leaders over, and then called the director to send plainclothes officers quickly, deploying everything in the few minutes.

Such incidents happening on campus, with Dong Yi being a student, couldn’t be publicized, as the rumors circulating among students could blow things out of proportion. For Dong Yi’s sake, Yu Mingyi instantly thought of many considerations.

Yu Minglang was still stepping on the bad guy’s arm, pain making him howl, ”You’re quite bold, huh? To dare kidnap a female student and have intentions of murder and incineration, how can you be so ruthless, huh?!”

”I was wrong, I really was wrong, I hadn’t done anything yet, I just knocked her out, and then you all came. I didn’t accomplish anything...” The man continuously begged. He had just drunk a little alcohol, courage inflated by drink.

After being rejected by Dong Yi, he harbored a burning fury inside. His twisted, radical thoughts fueled his actions. The school urgently needed a boiler worker, and he had previously done this work, using his operator license as leverage to get in, work the shifts and spend time pondering Dong Yi, secretly observing her.

Today he saw Dong Yi coming to watch a performance near the boiler room, his mind went askew.

Initially, he just wanted to drag her out, hoping she’d reconsider, but Dong Yi was resolute not to be with him. They argued on a path, coincidentally finding a brick, struck at Dong Yi as she turned to leave after her resistance, and dragged her to the boiler room.

He intended malice but failed to remove her clothes and was caught red-handed by the arriving Yu Minglang and others.

Thank goodness for Yu Minglang, experienced in handling major cases, wasting no time, coming straight over. Had he delayed even a bit, Dong Yi might have been spared incineration but still violated.

”Get up, youngest.” Yu Mingyi said sternly.

Yu Minglang stepped aside, freeing the half-dead suspect who tried to flee, only to be dragged by Yu Mingyi straight toward the boiler.

The terrified criminal screamed, Qian nervously tugged Yu Minglang.

”You should stop him, what’s second brother trying to do!”

Was he going to throw him into the boiler?

Yu Minglang covered her eyes, preventing her from witnessing the horrifying scenes.

”My second brother knows what he’s doing, it’s fine.”

”Ah!” A scream erupted from behind, accompanied by the smell of something scorched.

Yu Minglang and Qiao Zhen turned their backs simultaneously, avoiding looking, yeah, no problem.
