Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 202: Chapter 202: Restrain Yourself

When Qian stood on stage and looked at the dense crowd below, she felt like slamming the door and leaving.

These kids, exams are coming up, and instead of tying their hair up and studying in the dorm, what are they doing here!

The reluctant female boss was seated and applying makeup.

”Qian, your face is darker than my pot’s bottom.”

”Whose fault is it?” Qian said with a stern face.

”Hehe, don’t be mad, just perform well, I’ve got a super big surprise for you later!” Shi Touyu said mysteriously.

”What surprise could you have, more of his photos?” Qian snorted, this little mischief.

”Even better than that, you’ll definitely like it.” Shi Yu’s eyes flashed with a mysterious light.

The performance was still a while from starting, and the small theater was bustling with people.

The president of the drama club, also a male actor, stood contently behind the stage, sneakily pulled back the curtain a bit, and narcissistically said.

”They’re all drawn here by this handsome guy, right?”

”President, wake up, everyone is here for Qian!” Shi Yu interrupted the president’s illusion.

”Can’t you let me bask in it for a while?” The president was deflated; he’d been in this club for almost three years, and this was the first time they had so many people for a performance. However, he soon perked up again.

”Qian joining is such a boost to our popularity! It’s worth the costly posters we printed and put up on the bulletin boards of every institute. Look at how many people came for Qian’s stage debut!”

”What posters?” Shi Yu turned her head.

”Nothing, nothing.” The president felt that although it wasn’t a big deal, Shi Yu shouldn’t know about it; she was too close to Qian, and she might get angry if she knew.

It’s said that as soon as they were put up, they were grabbed instantly.

The poster was a side profile of Qian, completely bare-faced, of her in class, wearing headphones and reading a book, secretly snapped by Shi Touyu just as she lifted a hand to adjust her headphones. Her slender wrist was revealed, with a clear jade bracelet complementing her cool demeanor, her long lashes casting a beautiful shadow on her face. It was just a side profile, yet it was unexpectedly captivating.

”Xiaoyu, I don’t think Qian really likes performing stage dramas, aren’t you afraid she’ll come after you later?” The president asked Xiaoyu.

”I just think she’s always reading without any hobbies, wanted to bring her out for some fun. She’s been talking in her sleep lately, don’t know why she’s so stressed...”

”What are you saying?” The president looked at Xiaoyu, who instantly put on a cheeky grin.

”It’s nothing, I’m not afraid of her being angry, because I have my immunity card.”

”What kind of immunity card is so effective?” The president was curious.

Shi Touyu looked at a corner of the stage below, smiling without saying a word.

In the audience, the most prominent spot had been reserved in advance by the club members.

Now in this spot sat three very handsome men, though in casual wear, everyone could tell they had an aura not typical for students, many female students were glancing their way.

”The youngest, how did you end up here?” Yu Mingyi had received a call from his younger brother at night, forcibly dragged over by the youngest.

”What do you mean ’end up’? Sounds like I’ve been imprisoned somewhere.” Yu Minglang protested.

Sitting next to Yu Minglang, Qiao Zhen laughed explaining to Yu Mingyi.

”Second brother, we came here straight after getting off the plane.”

They had been working overtime for quite a while, originally planned to rest at home after returning to the country, but as soon as the young boss heard his girlfriend was going to perform, he was invigorated like he’d drunk chicken soup, and came straight here.

On top of that, Shi Touyu called, saying Qian was performing tonight, even as the female lead.

Once Yu Minglang heard this, how could he let it pass? His girlfriend on stage, if there’s a chance, he must watch, if there isn’t, he’ll make one! Not only did he plan to watch, he was dragging his brother and friends along!

He hadn’t even given Qian a heads-up, waiting for the surprise.

As soon as the shabby curtain was pulled open, Qian appeared in a dark red velvet tailored suit, greeted by gasps below.

So handsome!

This outfit was really something the drama club invested in, said to be hand-made by a club member’s mom, drawn by Shi Touyu, paired with a shirt having incredibly intricate large ruffled borders, stirring amazement with its appearance, extreme retro vibe!

Besides Qian, hardly anyone could handle such an outfit, her aura indeed resembling that of a vampire countess.

Yu Minglang was so captivated, look at my Qian, how beautiful!

But as the play started, Yu Minglang saw more and more things were off.

Who wrote this lousy script?

His Qian, why play such a role? What is this nonsense, secretly in love with such an ugly guy, and even shamelessly pursuing him?

Yu Minglang watched with burning anger while others were moved to tears, some girls behind them were already wiping tears, what a touching love story!

Qian’s acting couldn’t be considered great, especially since she naturally disliked this kind of shamelessly chasing after a man role, delivering lines through gritted teeth, but her looks were enough, not just men were charmed, women too were captivated by her.

Yu Minglang had been enthusiastically watching, but halfway through, he couldn’t hold back the jealousy burning in his chest.

”Youngest, restrain yourself.” Mr. Yu beside him could feel Yu Minglang’s restlessness.

”I’m stepping out for a bit.” Yu Minglang stood up, Mr. Yu sensed that him getting up now could lead to trouble, just wanted to stop him, Qiao Zhen quickly blocked Mr. Yu.

”Mr. Yu, have you been busy working lately?”

”Hmm.”

Taking advantage while Qiao Zhen delayed Mr. Yu, Yu Minglang decisively got up and headed to the backstage.

Backstage, Shi Yu held the script, coordinating the direction for the last scene.

”When Qian smashes the cup later, you immediately play the music, it has to be something really sad, like the one we chose yesterday, the kind that tears one apart...” Shi Yu was speaking when suddenly she felt the script in her hand being taken, she was about to see who was so rude, but then saw Yu Minglang with a dark face.

”Ah!! Qian’s man! How did you get in here?!”

She had heard from her brother that Yu Minglang could come, but didn’t expect him to be so bold, directly entering the backstage.

”What nonsense is this script?” Yu Minglang flipped to the last scene, furious.

His Qian was the treasure held in his hands, how could she become the one chasing a man in a play, and being harshly ignored!

”Well, it’s just a play, can’t take it seriously...” Shi Yu saw Yu Minglang’s face looking like this, her heart started pounding.

Gosh, how does this man become so scary once he’s away from Qian, feels like just a glance sends chills, only Qian isn’t afraid of him.

Shi Yu suddenly had a bad premonition, feeling like she might have ended up offending both Qian and her man!

The last scene with Qian was about to play, Yu Minglang couldn’t bear watching any longer, could he really let his Qian get dumped by another man? Even in the play, no way!
