Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

The apartment door was gently pushed open, and Grace Roe walked in quietly. The light in the living room of the bedroom was still on, and the long-haired carpet absorbed the sound of her footsteps.

The bedroom door was open, and from inside came sounds that made one blush and heartbeat quicken. Joshua Hughes’s words reached her ears. That woman was truly a dangerous vixen, look at how she had bewitched her son. Her son actually said she was his life; she could hardly believe that these words came from her cold-blooded, ruthless, decisive and deadly son.

She wasn’t a mother who liked to steal, but she couldn’t help walking forward, slowly drawing closer......

The bedroom door was closed, and Avery Jane pushed Joshua Hughes’s body, her voice hoarse: ”Why is there someone?”

Both embarrassed and anxious, it seemed likely it was Joshua Hughes’s friend. If it were a bad person, they would probably be killed by now. What to do, how embarrassing.

”Don’t be afraid, Avery, it’s fine....” She was obviously really scared, her whole body still stiff, not able to relax at all.

Holding her, he rolled over, gently kissing her eyes, soothing the frightened young girl.

”Don’t do this in the future, it’s all your fault.” If he had closed the bedroom door when he returned, none of this would have happened, it was all his fault.

This issue was a big one, the young girl would probably bear a psychological shadow from it.

Joshua Hughes got up from the bed, switched on the light, and while putting on a pair of home pants, looked at the young girl’s reddened eyes. If he guessed correctly, it must have been her who came. Casually, Joshua picked up a robe and threw it on, bending down to kiss Avery Jane’s smooth forehead: ”I’m going out for a bit, you sleep first.”

He smiled and joked with her, but it earned him a roll of eyes from the young girl.

The light in the living room was still so warm, but the presence of a person who shouldn’t be there made Joshua Hughes feel very uncomfortable.

The woman sitting in the sofa, even appearing late at night, still had her hair neatly tied, dressed in a black dress, looking impeccable: ”Joshua, I’m sorry, but I have an urgent matter to discuss with you.”

Grace Roe knew she had just crossed her son’s taboo, not to mention appearing at that time. But for the sake of her son, she was willing to do anything. Looking at Joshua Hughes’s tired face, his eyes a little swollen, obviously showing signs of insufficient rest, it seemed that woman truly intended to drain her son dry.

Joshua Hughes cast her a cold glance and sat down.

”Joshua, what’s going on with you and Evelyn, why did you drive her away?” Grace Roe was truly troubled over this matter. She didn’t like the Yates Family people, but surely they were better than that woman inside.

”Don’t mention her again, please leave. Since I was six, my affairs have been none of your business.” Joshua turned to glance at the securely-closed bedroom door, appreciating its good soundproofing.

But he still wasn’t at ease. This was the best time of trust between them. Avery Jane completely trusted him, and this life to him was akin to paradise. So he couldn’t allow anyone to destroy it, even if that person shared a blood relationship with him. Moreover, the person who had the closest blood relation with him actually wanted to kill the woman he loved most. It was unforgivable. She, a woman from a prestigious university, actually believed the fraudulent words of some charlatan. He had planned to find her, just not now, not here.

”Joshua, she is pregnant with your child. What you are doing isn’t right.” Grace Roe advised in a low voice, the abandonment of his wife and child would ruin Joshua Hughes’s entire image.

”It’s a Hughes Family child, not my child. The Hughes Family has more than just me.” Joshua Hughes spoke with indifference, but his words hit Grace Roe’s heart like an atomic bomb.

”You, what did you say?” Grace Roe could hardly believe what she was hearing. Did he mean that the child wasn’t his, but belonged to someone from the Hughes Family?

She looked at Joshua Hughes with a pale face, how did it end up like this.

”As long as it’s mine, Luis Hughes is always interested, isn’t he? Congratulations, Mother, you can still be a grandmother, just that the child’s father has changed.” Joshua Hughes’s thin lips spat out words that cut like a knife into Grace Roe’s heart, bleeding profusely.
