Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

:”Taoist Johnson, long time no see, long time no see.” His sharp thin lips curled up in a dazzling and sarcastic arc, his charming eyes carrying a faint smile that was hard to discern, but emanating a chilling aura.

:”This is Mr. Hughes, right?” The middle-aged man’s eyes, resembling withered leaves, glanced at him, indeed, he was a man full of power.

:”I heard that Taoist Johnson saw something dirty beside me?” The black-clad bodyguards had already brought over a chair, and Joshua Hughes sat down, eyes fixed unwaveringly on Taoist Johnson.

:”Since you already know, I’ll tell you truthfully, there is a woman by your side, she has a ghost attached to her, which is why Mr. Hughes has been exhibiting some abnormal behavior recently, but you yourself are unaware. I can’t say more, heavenly secrets must not be revealed, it shortens one’s life.” His gaze was too sharp for Taoist Johnson to meet, and he closed his eyes.

:”Who told you to say that?” Joshua Hughes’s gaze grew colder, his ink-black eyes seemed as if they were layered with ice.

:”No one, I just saw it and naturally have to help people with it.” Taoist Johnson did not open his eyes but spoke with certainty.

:”Have you read your own fortune then?” Joshua Hughes crossed his legs, lazily leaned against the chair, and wore a teasing smile akin to a cat playing with a mouse.

:”Did you foresee that today is a bad day for you, not suitable for going out, or perhaps a day of bloodshed?” Joshua Hughes took out a cigarette, and his attendant swiftly lit it for him; he exhaled lightly, smoke swirling around, further obscuring his thoughts?

:”What do you intend to do? I’ve seen many things, a brat like you...” Taoist Johnson was obviously a bit anxious, opened his eyes, only to see Joshua Hughes’s eyes cold to the extreme through the smoke.

:”If you truly seek to help the people today, we’ll let this matter go, but why did you accept a 500 million check? That check was issued by the Hughes Family, and if I want to know, one call to the bank will tell me who issued it. Tell me, who sent you to meddle in this muddy water, risking life for money, you’d better not do that, or have you seen too many ghosts and are thinking of turning yourself into one too?” Joshua Hughes’s voice was as cold as if it drifted from the farthest depths of Inferno...

:”I performed a ritual for you, naturally, I’d charge a fee.” Taoist Johnson lowered his head, muttering under his breath.

:”Stop reciting scriptures, even if you really summoned a deity today, would it plead for you? Blinded by profit, collecting money just to plot against someone, if you keep quiet, you’ll suffer.” Joshua Hughes was growing impatient, recalling that venomous snake on the boat, thankfully he had kept Avery Jane from going down to the cabin, who knows what dangers would have ensued.

:”Stop babbling, it’s really annoying, I have matters to attend today. Let’s start by plucking out his eyeballs, he talks about seeing ghosts every day, how uncomfortable that must be.” Alexander King walked out from behind, looking impatient.

Another equally striking man stood behind Joshua Hughes, holding a thin silvery knife as if by magic, his seemingly gentle face subtly exuding a murderous aura.

This reminded Taoist Johnson of that morning, at dawn, while he was conducting his daily breathing exercises in his yard, several men in black intruded, led by this one, looking at him with cold eyes and an indifferent demeanor. He was not one to be trifled with, tenacious and renowned among the high society elites, Joshua’s name was well known, as was Alexander King. He never expected to embroil himself in such a matter.

Joshua Hughes took the small knife from Alexander King’s hand, looking at Taoist Johnson. He hadn’t even wielded the knife, yet the air seemed to slowly fill with a scent of blood.

Gradually, the tall, robust figure advanced step by step towards the frail middle-aged man, the frigid and eerie aura made Taoist Johnson’s pupils contract with nervousness and fear. His legs trembled involuntarily...

Joshua Hughes approached Taoist Johnson, saying nothing more, his bloodthirsty eyes fixated on him causing waves of panic within Taoist Johnson’s heart,:”Mr. Hughes, I’m just acting out of good intentions...” Taoist Johnson murmured, trying to justify himself. But he understood, any defense was futile before this man.

Joshua Hughes leaned in-------

:”You still won’t talk?” The tone was light yet felt like mist before a volcanic eruption.

Taoist Johnson instinctively shook his head; if he spoke, everything he had painstakingly cultivated and accrued in life would be ruined.

”What a pity.” Joshua Hughes’s lips curled in a mesmerizing arc, his thin lips gently uttered these three words, this fake Taoist had a hard mouth; perhaps he thought he saw enough dignitaries to assume he would be spared some dignity, yet now, not even the King of the Underworld’s dignity was to be given.

The knife rose and fell without a trace of hesitation, a chilling scream echoed in the serene courtyard:”They say people who can communicate with spirits have stronger abilities once they go blind.” He mumbled to himself, dodging the blood splattering from Taoist Johnson’s eye socket with nimble reflexes. Immediately, the air was thick with the stench of blood, even the fragrant evergreen bamboo planted nearby couldn’t mask the nauseating smell.

”Speak, how did it come to this?” Joshua Hughes said coldly.

Taoist Johnson clutched one eye, wailing pathetically, his face pale as paper, black-red blood trickled from his eye socket, a horrifying sight.

: ”Still not talking?” The bodyguard next to him kicked the chair, a mighty impact sent both man and chair flying, his emaciated body crashed onto the bluestone tiles, making a sound like bones striking the floor.

Taoist Johnson’s lips trembled with fear, he couldn’t believe Joshua Hughes acted so directly.

: ”Did you think I was joking?” Coldly, Joshua Hughes chuckled:”You dared to target others’ lives, did you not imagine a day when you might be without yours?” His voice remained calm, yet sent chills down one’s spine.

:”I’m giving you one last chance, I won’t repeat myself.” Joshua Hughes’s voice carried a cold chill as if rising from the fissures of the earth.
