Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

”I don’t like it at all, she’s the one who likes you bullying her.......” Avery Jane glanced at Donna; her eyes were practically glued to Joshua Hughes, not leaving him for even a second. What a frightening woman—she dared be like this right in front of her; who knew what she’d be like when Avery wasn’t around.

”Doesn’t matter who likes it.” The bikini strap showed on Crystal White’s shoulder, a faint fluorescent green that made her skin look even more enticing. Her shoulders were slender yet rounded, the lines graceful and alluring, not twisted out of shape from being too skinny like some women nowadays, nor carrying that heavy, bulky feel some women’s shoulders had. Her sexy collarbones seemed as if they could hold a pool of clear water; the waist beneath his hand was slim and soft, full of elasticity. A faint, subtle fragrance rose from her body, tugging at his heart.

It made him want nothing more than to bite through that thin strap, press her down beneath him and ravage her hard—but he really couldn’t.

”Avery, I still have something to deal with today. I probably won’t be back until this afternoon. You are not allowed to go downstairs alone, understand?” Joshua Hughes looked at the bodyguard in black not far away, signaling with his eyes for him to guard her closely and stick to her every step.

:”You’re really controlling.” Avery Jane didn’t like this feeling at all. It was like being in prison. Even though this prison was luxurious and romantic, Joshua’s expression seemed a bit heavy and a little stern, not like he was joking, so she just nodded.

Joshua Hughes finished his coffee. The chef had already made him a breakfast. After he ate, he kissed Avery Jane on the forehead, smoothed her hair, and reminded her once more, ”Be good.” Then he left the top deck. This kind of matter couldn’t be delayed even for a moment, nor could it be handed off to someone else. Today he had to find out who was pulling the strings behind the scenes.

The ship’s broadcast sounded with a sweet voice: ”Dear elites of the Hughes Clan Group, we’re delighted to be spending New Year’s with you on this cruise. On such a special day, we’ve prepared the best game for everyone. Now please gather on the deck, and leave your room doors open. Our staff will place a lucky star in each room. One hour later, everyone will return to their rooms. The first person to find the lucky star will receive a 300,000 yuan prize provided by Mr. Joshua Hughes, chairman of the board of the Hughes Clan Group. The second person will receive 200,000, the third 100,000, and there are ten additional lucky prizes of 20,000 each. We believe this will be the biggest New Year’s red envelope you’ll get. Now please come to the deck and line up by department. Do not disrupt the order of the game. If anyone is standing in the wrong team, please point it out immediately; otherwise their eligibility to participate will be canceled. One last reminder: when you leave your rooms, the doors must be kept open, otherwise your eligibility to participate in the game will also be canceled. Please be on deck in twenty minutes.”

The whole ship was about to boil over. Three hundred thousand for the first one to find it—who would be that lucky person? Those still eating in the restaurant gulped down a few bites and rushed back to their rooms, leaving their doors open, and then more and more people slowly gathered on the deck, forming several groups. Everyone excitedly discussed who would be able to get that enormous red envelope.

Joshua Hughes sat in the monitoring room, sharp eyes fixed on all the screens. Almost everyone had poured out. Fortunately the ship was big enough; the second and third deck had slowly formed into several square formations, and nothing seemed particularly abnormal. His hawk-like gaze swept over every frame, with the person in charge beside him keeping a cautious, nervous watch as well, but they still hadn’t found anything. Had his eyes played tricks on him that day, had he seen wrong? But he clearly remembered that person.

Time ticked by—five minutes, ten minutes, fifteen minutes.......

Everyone was as hyped up as if they’d been injected with chicken blood, staring at the time on the wall. When the cheerful bell finally rang, they swarmed back to their respective rooms. The deck fell silent in an instant. Just moments ago it had been as noisy as a school playground after the bell; in the blink of an eye there was no one left, only the cruise staff remaining.

”Mr. Hughes, I really did see that weirdo that day.....” The person in charge stammered. It wasn’t possible to see a ghost in broad daylight, but they still couldn’t find him like this, and he’d made Mr. Hughes waste so much money for nothing. What was he going to do?
