Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

Tiger falling from grace is bullied by dogs, now even a housekeeper can speak to her like this, Evelyn Yates gritted her teeth, almost biting them to pieces.

”Watch over Miss Yates, I will personally see her out in a while.” The housekeeper was a man, unsuitable to stay long in such a room, so he let two maids watch over Evelyn Yates as she packed her things. In fact, there wasn’t much to pack, nothing here belonged to her, none of it.

”Mom, please come pick me up.......Joshua has kicked me out, he won’t let me stay here......” Evelyn Yates picked up the phone, unable to speak through her sobs.

”What did you say? Evelyn, are you joking, you two are being playful, right? Your belly is so big, you’re almost due, truly childish.” Being woken up in the middle of the night was clearly an unpleasant experience, and what Evelyn Yates said was even more like a bolt from the blue, incomprehensible. Harper Johnson thought it was just a marital spat, trying to advise her while sitting up. Beside her, Arthur Yates was also awakened by the crying over the phone, begrudgingly opened his eyes, and grabbed the phone: ”Evelyn, don’t be childish, Joshua is in a bad mood, you should go along with it, how could you act like this? You’re heavily pregnant now, come back, how to come back, come back for people to laugh at our Yates Family? A woman presented herself, got pregnant, and was then sent back, where should I put this old face?”

”Father, no, I didn’t provoke him, it was Joshua.....he said the child in my belly isn’t his at all.....Father, quickly send someone to pick me up, I’m about to be kicked out, they won’t even let me take clothes home, Father we’re all finished, all finished......” Evelyn Yates cried her heart out, never before had she felt such despair, looking at her protruding belly, what was this, the Yates Family used every trick in the book, only to end up like this.

Ordinarily, she often put on airs as the mistress in the Hughes Family, bossing around the servants who tolerated her only because of who the master was, now she was like a fallen phoenix not even comparable to a chicken, with cold eyes watching her cry bitterly at the bedside, yet no one comforted her, not even handing her a tissue.

Harper Johnson was stunned hearing the sound over the phone, shivering all over, could it be true, is this why Joshua Hughes has been ignoring her daughter all these months, so the child really isn’t his?

”Avery Jane, it must be that damned girl Avery Jane’s doing, husband, now our Evelyn has been harmed miserably by her, you said she would handle matters for our Yates Family, what shall we do now?” Harper Johnson was flustered, quickly getting dressed, calling for the driver to get the car ready. No matter how angry she was, she couldn’t ignore her own daughter, now she needed to first head to the Hughes Family and see things for herself.

So it was like this, Arthur Yates sat dumbfounded on the bed, thinking everything was under his control, thinking once his grandson was born, he’d be the rightful father-in-law of Joshua Hughes, and then all sorts of collaborations with Hughes Clan Enterprises would be even easier, he had thought when Joshua Hughes came to propose, he’d demand five percent of Hughes Clan’s shares as a betrothal gift, he thought apart from Joshua Hughes, the Yates Family could rule this city as well, he thought he could revive the family’s fortunes, as the Yates Family had already fallen during his generation. But all of this had collapsed, Avery Jane, that woman who deserved a thousand cuts, where is she now? He must strip her to the bone to quell the anger in his heart.

There was no traffic on the highway in the middle of the night, the car was fast, but it still took some time, after all, the Hughes Family was some distance from the city center. By the time they arrived, Evelyn Yates’s eyes were swollen like peaches, she looked haggard and pale.

”Evelyn, how did you become like this, no wonder Joshua Hughes won’t even glance at you.” Harper Johnson was full of anger, looking at the two maids: ”Go get a cup of hot tea, and bring a basin of hot water for the Young Madam to freshen up.” As those two maids still stood there motionless, Harper Johnson’s anger grew even more intense.

”Even the servants dare to bully me.” She picked up the phone and dialed a number, since it was owed to her, she’d have to make them pay together.

”Madam Hughes, your son’s manners are excellent, playing with my daughter’s belly, now driving her away, the servants won’t even serve a cup of tea, is this considered hospitality?” Harper Johnson spoke with sharp sarcasm, her tone hard, not a trace of the previous obsequiousness and gentleness, now she could only turn to Joshua Hughes’s mother.
