Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

Avery Jane seemed to be in a bit of a mood, but it was hard to pinpoint exactly what was wrong. She just felt a little heavy-chested, so Joshua Hughes had a bodyguard accompany her downstairs to find Emma White.

”Oh my God, Avery Jane, I was so worried! Where did you go? You disappeared so suddenly yesterday. I went to that room to find you, but they wouldn’t let me in. There were people guarding the door.” Emma stared at Avery, who had suddenly appeared in front of her like magic. Just like yesterday when Avery vanished into thin air. After finishing her sentence, she glanced at the handsome guy in black who stood about two meters behind Avery. He looked somewhat like the guy who was guarding the room’s door yesterday; from his clothes to his movements, even his facial expressions were strikingly similar.

”I’m sorry, Emma. I had some things going on yesterday and forgot to call you.” Avery looked at Emma apologetically.

”What happened exactly?” Emma asked quietly, pulling Avery closer and whispering in her ear, while keeping an eye on the stern-faced man in black.

”It’s nothing, really. My boyfriend was staying upstairs, so I went to his place yesterday.” Avery said, lowering her head sheepishly. Was she prioritizing romance over friendship? Emma must be really upset.

”I knew it! Is your boyfriend one of the company executives? Wait, don’t tell me. Let me guess. There are about twenty unmarried executives in our company, excluding the impossible ones. Let’s see... Is it Manager Clark? Wyatt Clark looks like someone who fits the image I’m picturing.”

”No, Emma, stop guessing. I’ll introduce him to you when the time is right.” Avery didn’t want to say more about it, fearing that Emma might keep probing until she unwittingly reveals the truth. After all, it wasn’t the best time to announce their engagement. Joshua mentioned that he’d gradually transfer some of his work to others next year, then find a time to hold the wedding and make it public. But she always felt as though the wedding had already happened. Joshua would tease her, saying she was dreaming about marrying him, making her slightly embarrassed even now.

”Avery, I’m truly envious of you. Your boyfriend is so outstanding.” Only the company’s elites and top executives lived upstairs, and their annual salaries were quite handsome.

”You’re too picky. Look at how many people adore you.” Avery and Emma strolled through the cruise ship mall, browsing from one corner to the next. They found the selection surprisingly comprehensive, with all the goods being duty-free. Emma was overjoyed, bursting with excitement.

”It’s not that I’m picky. I’m not actually. Isn’t the current trend about the three 180s? If a guy meets those standards, I’d marry him.” Emma compared herself to a new swimsuit, handing another one to Avery.

”What are these three 180s?” Avery asked curiously, looking at the bikini that seemed a bit too revealing. The lower part was held together only by a golden metal ring - how could anyone wear that?

”A 180 square meter house, a height of 180 centimeters, and, well, a tool of 180 millimeters.” Emma chose a black set, picking a white bikini for Avery. The white one demanded a perfect figure, and Emma didn’t feel confident enough to pull it off. The black one felt safer for her. The white set was perfect for someone like Avery, both pure and sexy.

”A tool?” Avery blushed deeply as she finally caught on. What kind of criteria was this?

”Honestly, the third one is the most important. Avery, does your mysterious boyfriend meet these standards?” Emma put the items in a small cart, continuing to shop in the sprawling luxurious mall. Everything here was genuinely expensive, but considering the generous year-end bonus, she decided it was time to splurge a little to catch the eyes of some elites. More people would be at the pool in the afternoon.

”Sort of, I guess. I don’t really know,” Avery said, quickly putting the swimsuit back on the shelf and grabbing a more conservative set.

A 180-square meter house - the place they’re living in now seems quite large. Joshua is definitely over 180 centimeters tall; she was sure of that. A tool? Avery blushed so fiercely she couldn’t bear it. It wasn’t like she could use a ruler to measure - what kind of standard was this?
