Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

The guard at Luis Hughes’ door was removed. At this time, he was the least suspicious because he stayed downstairs the entire time and never left. There was no time for him to release the snake in the afternoon.

”From now on, you guard the entrance. No one is allowed upstairs.” Something was secretly stretching its tentacles in the dark, always catching people off guard. He hated this, so he had to eliminate these lurking dangers as soon as possible.

”You two, come in.” Joshua Hughes looked at the two bodyguards and spoke coldly.

Inside the awning on the deck, the table still had the delicacies that hadn’t been eaten much earlier. The scent of food lingered in the air, and the red wine in the crystal glasses shimmered enticingly. Joshua Hughes lazily sat on the divan, but his eyes shone sharply, piercing through the air with a cold and stern aura that engulfed everything.

”You are both the best bodyguards and have been with me for many years. Who did it?” Joshua Hughes slowly uttered his words like ice shards. If it was really them, capturing evidence would not be easy because they were the top in the industry. Knowing how to protect people means they also know how to bring someone down, and the two are intrinsically linked.

Both lowered their heads slightly, neither responding.

Bodyguards have their own codes. These two were retired special forces soldiers, excelling in physical fitness, observation, reflexes, counter-surveillance, and psychological endurance. Such people can best protect your safety. But if their hearts waver, they become the most terrifying. Because of his identity and some strong methods in his early years, which stirred up quite a bit of turmoil, he always had a few loyal bodyguards secretly protecting him. But today’s situation was something he never anticipated.

”It’s okay if you don’t say anything. From now on, you two will stay together day and night. Bathing, eating, even going to the bathroom, you must not separate until the truth comes to light. Our contract is for fifteen years. From now, there are nearly ten years left, and you must be together day and night, even during home holidays. I suppose sharing a bed with three people would be particularly interesting,” Joshua Hughes said with a devilish, chilling smile at the corner of his mouth.

”In this line of work, having done such things, there will never be another employer willing to hire you again. I’ll give you a bit of time to think. How about tomorrow morning? When the sun rises, I want to hear your answer. You can talk through the night; as long as it’s the truth, it can never be forever hidden. Many people want to kill me. You’re not the first, nor will you be the last. But those who failed to kill me died more pitifully than me.”

Joshua Hughes observed the two, his expression calm and indifferent: ”I’m going to sleep. I don’t mind keeping you for ten years. Your endurance is excellent, so endure it slowly.” He stood up from the divan, picked up the phone, and walked out of the big red tent. The tent, which once looked festive and bright, now seemed like a terrifying bloody maw about to swallow everyone whole.

Two people who can never separate—such words sound beautifully like a vow. But at this moment, it felt chilling. Two tall, burly men together day and night, even sleeping together, and both have entirely normal sexual orientations. Such a life feels not like being in prison, but similarly, a loss of freedom that is more crushing than any interrogation.

”Lance, please check if these two have shown any abnormalities recently. Quickly.” Because since someone else on this ship was cooperating with the person who released the snake, it was like an invisible bomb that could explode at any time. Avery Jane couldn’t go downstairs. Someone was planning all this, and before it was eradicated, he needed to place Avery Jane somewhere safe.

It had been a long time since such danger approached. The bloodthirsty and violent cells inside him began to activate one by one, excitement radiating from his pupils. The one worry was that he used to be alone, and no matter what happened, it didn’t matter. But now it was different. He started having concerns because of Avery Jane, and he didn’t want her to encounter any danger again.

Avery Jane, until her eyelids were heavy, hadn’t waited for Joshua Hughes to return. She climbed into bed and fell asleep until morning. When she opened her eyes, she found he hadn’t returned at all. The pillow next to her was untouched, and she only occupied half the bed. The other half was cold, without his scent or warmth, as he didn’t return that night. On this top floor, which room could he have stayed in? Surely he didn’t spend the night in the wind on the deck.

Donna? Ever since she came to know this name, it grew like weeds in her heart, now more wild. Had he gone to see Donna? Was she ill? Was he worried and went to accompany her? After all, it was a first love—something unforgettable. Avery Jane subconsciously bit her lip. How annoying. This ambiguous relationship unsettled her.

That Donna was just slightly taller than her, with a larger chest and thicker lips. What was so attractive that caught Joshua Hughes’ fancy in his youth? Avery Jane stood up and walked to the wardrobe. Joshua Hughes had prepared several outfits for her. She wouldn’t lose to any woman. She wanted to capture her husband’s attention and not let him look at another woman.

Joshua Hughes had people prepare several sets of clothes suitable for the sea. He said they were all hung in the closet. But when no one was around on the top floor, she always wore a loose silk gown, without the opportunity to dress up well.

Though she was prettier, she was much older. Many styles she could wear, but Avery Jane might not be able to pull it off. She already felt Donna’s provocative looks yesterday, but she wouldn’t back down......
