Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 767:- Demand Exceeds Market Supply

[If, before all of this ends, your father and brother change, then we will immediately give up our plan. What the Istarin Empire ultimately hopes to achieve is peace. We do not want war, nor do we promote war.]

After reading the last part, Soraya felt complicated. The chances of her brother and father changing are next to zero. If they did change, she would be the first one to stand with them.

After all, blood is thicker than water. Even though she has been treated horribly by her father and brother, if there was a choice, she wouldnʼt want to see them dead. Soraya had zero interest in joining hands with the Istarin Emperor to overthrow the current Emperor and the Crown Prince to become the first and only Empress or Female Monarch of the Dune Sovereignty.

As long as her family members changed and gave up on this toxic ambition of theirs, she would help them in any way possible. After reading the letter, Soraya lay on the bed with her arms spread. The letter lay next to her. She had a feeling that moving toward everything was going to become much more difficult. She also understood why the Emperor added the last part. One of the reasons Aditya added the last part was to assure Soraya that the Istarin Empire wasnʼt after the vast lands of the Dune Sovereignty Empire. Rather than being its enemy, the Dragon Monarch hoped to work as allies moving forward. But under the current regime, this wasnʼt possible. ʼSigh...!!!ʼ Soraya sighed heavily as she thought of the future. No matter what happens, she cannot let the Empire fall. As its princess, she loved this place. Despite how her father and brother treated her, she still loved her birthplace. Due to her late mother, this Empire held a significant importance in her heart. Soraya did not mind if the Istarin Empire integrated the whole Dune Sovereignty Empire. Whenever the Istarin Empire took territory from an Empire or Kingdom, that territory only saw prosperity. This meant that under Adityaʼs regime, the whole Dune Sovereignty would become a much better place for hundreds of Millions of people to live. ʼWhat I hate the most is a person who thinks he is a God and thinks he can do whatever he wants.ʼ Soraya thought to herself. The Princess found it absolutely ridiculous when her father, the Emperor, portrayed himself as the God. ʼFrom a very young age, he has successfully brainwashed that stupid and arrogant brother of mine to the point where there was no space left for any redemption.ʼ She would have followed the same path as well if Emperor Charles had given the same importance and attention that he had given to the Crown Prince. ʼThe things that he did in the interest of the Empire and following the orders of My father are just unforgivable.ʼ This was coming from Garrickʼs own biological sister. One has to wonder just what sort of evil and chaotic things he did to even make his sister stand opposite of him. ”Milady, what would you like to have?” Liora asked Soraya after noticing that her Lady was done reading the letter. Whenever Soraya skipped breakfast with her family, she usually had it in her own room. ”I am not hungry. Ask Mira to bring me green tea along with a fruit salad.” ”Understood!!” Liora left the room to find Mira. Mira wasnʼt so far away. When Liora came out, she met Mira, who had also come here to see her lady. ”Liora, has Milady awakened?” Mira asked in a gentle and calm tone. ”She has!!! Do you need her for something?” Liora asked in an emotionless tone. Her tone was neither friendly nor cold. This was just how Liora was. ”I have come here with a few letters that I think Milady would like to read.” Liora nodded her head in understanding. ”Alright!! Please tell Milady that I am heading to the Kitchen.” Since Mira was going to be with their Lady, Liora decided to take the task of preparing her Ladyʼs breakfast. Knock!!! Knock!!! Knock!!!

”Come in, Mira!!” Only Mira knocked on the door using this pattern. Mira was another loyal maid of Soraya. Unlike Liora, who helped Soraya with all daily life activities, Miraʼs role was slightly different. In the eyes of the Emperor and the Crown Prince, Mira was a maid that Soraya often sent out of the Royal Castle to buy various things that are found in the capital. Aside from that, Mira was skilled at cleaning. If she wasnʼt running an errand for her Lady, she usually did the laundry. Secretly, Mira was through which Soraya received all of her information. She is known as The Discreet Messenger.

Through Mira, Soraya has managed to set up a very small information-gathering network across the capital. All the major events of the Empire never escaped her ears, even if she was confined to the Royal Castle. Mira wouldnʼt be here if she didnʼt have something to inform. ”Mira, good morning!!” ”Good morning, Milady!! I hope youʼre doing well!!” Mira politely greeted Mira. Unlike Liora, Mira was very gentle and kind. Her voice was very soft and gentle. It was very pleasant to the ears. Mira was a young woman about the same age as Soraya. Unlike Liora, Mira isnʼt that tall. She is slightly shorter than Soraya. She had short red hair that reached down her neck. She had a skinny body, but with her maid outfit, she looked gorgeous. She wasnʼt inferior to Liora in beauty. Both of them had unique charms. Miraʼs charm was her gentle and kind personality. What makes her unique is the fact that her gentle personality can affect others. ”Mira, sit down.” Soraya patted the empty place next to her. ”Milady, itʼs alright!!” Sitting next to the Princess on her bed wouldnʼt be appropriate. ”What are you hesitating for? We have known each other for as long as we were alive. Is there any reason for you to hesitate?” Their relationship was really close. Both of them were like childhood best friends. Soraya pulled Mira and made her sit next to her. ”Mira, are you here with some new information?” Asked Soraya in a soft tone. Mira nodded her head. Because of their close relationship, she gave this very important task to her. Only someone like Mira could seamlessly gather information for centuries without being caught by anyone. ”Milady, this time, the news is very important,” Mira said in a very serious tone. ”We have observed fluctuations in the prices and demand for weapons and medication.” ”Itʼs almost as if someone.....!!”

”Someone is preparing for war.” Soraya completed Miraʼs sentence. Mira silently nodded her head. ”War is the least common and non-surprising thing in the Dune Sovereignty Empire.” ”Yeah!!! However, since the war has continued for many centuries, the prices of weapons and pills in the market have stabilized. But this time, the demand exceeded the market supply.” ”Although we tried to find out who was responsible for this, it wasnʼt easy. The buyers were different people from different fields. They werenʼt able to find any connection between them.”

”But that doesnʼt mean this isnʼt done by the orders of one person. Maybe, you guys havenʼt found the common factor that connects all the buyers. But the fact that suddenly so many buyers suddenly started purchasing pills and weapons is very unusual and odd.” Soraya seriously said. She can currently think of one person who might have done something like this. ”What should we do?” Mira asked with a serious face. ”Nothing!! Just keep gathering information as usual. We canʼt do anything other than that.” In the end, Soraya sounded bitter about this fact. ”Understood!!!” Mira nodded before her eyes fell on a book. ”Milady, I am curious to know what book you were reading last night.” The book cover was crimson red, and there was no title. It was a very thick book. ”Oh.....!! Itʼs a history book. In this book, the story of the Rabbit Princess, also known as the Moon Princess, is told.” ”What made me read this book is that her story is very similar to mine. Though, her story was already completed more than fifty thousand years ago.” Soraya looked out of the window. There was a look of longing in her eyes. ”In the end, she manages to overcome her inner conflict and the cold-blooded Emperorʼs life with her future husband. Having no one else to rule in order to make sure that the Empire doesnʼt fall, she reluctantly sits on the throne and becomes the Empress.” ”Though, just eight years shortly after ascending, she was poisoned to death by her own husbandʼs second wife.” ”Why would she do that?” Sorayaʼs maid asked while holding the thick book in her palms. ”I donʼt know. This whole story was written from an outsiderʼs perspective, so itʼs missing a lot of information.”

”For example, there is very little information about the Husbandʼs marriage life. I donʼt know how many wives he ended up having.”

”Itʼs not even known if the Rabbit Princess became the first wife or ended up becoming the 3rd wife or maybe even 4th.” It made sense since no one would share their private story to be published. ”Well, letʼs not get distracted.” ”Mira, continue gathering information. If youʼre lacking funds, donʼt hold back. Let me know when you need funds.” As the Princess, Soraya had a few small businesses around the Empire that her men ran. She also received a monthly allowance, though she canʼt easily use it as it raises questions about where she is using her funds. Other than that, she had accumulated a small fortune over the past few centuries. In the past, Soraya mostly collected information about the capital so that she could use it to invest in businesses. ”I will!!” ”If there is nothing else, I will take my leave.”
