Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 42, Giving Money

Translator: Silavin

Although Xiao Ye liked Han Ke’s food, this little rascal did not follow the rule of ‘not biting the hand that feeds you’. Whenever Lu Fan showed any affection towards Han Ke, she would get upset. She would start rubbing herself against Lu Fan, as if constantly reminding him, ‘Hey! I’m your favourite!”

Lu Fan had no way to deal with this. Xiao Ye was well behaved in every way, except when it came to him showing others affection. She would start behaving like a clingy and jealous girlfriend, even getting jealous of Han Ke.

Fortunately, Han Ke was open-minded. She found Xiao Ye’s behaviour to be amusing. Rather than take offence, she adored this little creature.

If Han Ke had been like Xiao Ye, this home would have undoubtedly turned into a battlefield.

While eating, Lu Fan and Han Ke discussed the issues with Han Ke’s Hidden Profession and its Skills.

After spending a long time researching, Han Ke still had not figured out the pattern behind the Enchanted Cooking. Sometimes, the same dish would boost different Attributes. Sometimes, it would permanently increase Attributes, sometimes only lasting for two hours.

The truly valuable dishes were definitely those that permanently increased one’s Attributes. Han Ke naturally wanted to make such dishes every time she cooked. However, she had no idea how to consistently achieve this.

The only thing they could be certain of now was that dishes made from a Crafting Recipe seemed to be able to gain the permanent Attribute increase feature, like the Meat Buns. Such dishes seem to be naturally enhanced by her Enchanted Cooking Skill.

Meat Bun was the only Crafting Recipe Han Ke had learned. Every basket of steamed Buns she made all had fixed Enchantment Effects. They all always increased Strength by one.

Lu Fan believes if Han Ke could learn more Crafting Recipes, she should be able to make more dishes that permanently increased Attributes.

Lu Fan decided that after they finished eating, he would take his Aunt to the auction house to see if there were any other Crafting Recipes for Cooks.

For Lifestyle Specialised Professions, Crafting Recipes were very cheap. They cost only tens of thousands for one. Just by selling one basket of Buns at the auction house, they could easily buy many Crafting Recipes.

The Hidden Profession of Enchanted Cook was really powerful. If nothing else, it was definitely exceptional at making money.

While the two were eating, someone knocked on the tightly closed shop door.

Han Ke glanced at it and asked, “Is someone here to buy Buns? I’ve already put up a notice about our shop’s temporary closure. There shouldn’t be anyone knocking…”

Lu Fan dismissed it, saying, “It might be a regular customer of our shop. They are craving the food you make. It’s fine, we don’t need to worry about it. They should leave soon.”

However, after waiting for a while, the knocking still did not stop.

Han Ke had no choice but to go and open the door to see who it was and what they wanted.

Lu Fan also put down his chopsticks and grabbed Xiao Ye, stuffing her into his clothes.

The door opened with a clatter, and Han Ke saw a beautiful girl, with a distinguished background from what she wore, standing at the entrance of the shop. She was wearing a Priest’s robe, looking pure and holy, with delicate skin and fine features. Her beauty was no less than Han Ke’s.

It was Qin Qiu.

When Qin Qiu saw that the person who opened the door was a stunningly beautiful woman in her mid-twenties, the faint smile on her face suddenly froze.

She had come today to give Lu Fan ten million Dragon Coins as a means of displaying her gratitude. Because the driver had sent Lu Fan here yesterday, Qin Qiu knew that Lu Fan lived in this Bun Shop.

Qin Qiu knew some stuff about Lu Fan’s Family situation. She was aware that he was an orphan living with his Aunt.

If a middle-aged woman had opened the door, Qin Qiu would not have been surprised. However, the one who opened the door was a young beauty not much older than herself, which surprised Qin Qiu greatly. She did not even consider this woman might be Lu Fan’s Aunt.

Seeing Qin Qiu stunned, Han Ke took the initiative to ask, “Are you a customer here to buy Buns? The shop is closed for a few days. Please come back in a few days.”

Qin Qiu came back to her senses and quickly asked, “No, I’m here to see Classmate Lu, Lu Fan. He should be living here, right?”

As soon as Qin Qiu finished speaking, Lu Fan had already come to the door. He smiled at Qin Qiu and asked, “Classmate Qin, why are you here so early?”

“Lu Fan!” Qin Qiu’s smile blossomed again when she saw Lu Fan.

At the same time, a strange light flashed in her eyes. Because today, Lu Fan had already showered and had a change of clothes. He looked completely different from when they were in the Mountain Stone Plains.

At that time, Lu Fan looked as miserable as a beggar, but now, he had transformed into a clean and sunny dashing young man.

Lu Fan was already good-looking before. With the huge contrast from their first meeting, it made Qin Qiu’s eyes light up for a moment.

Qin Qiu even felt her heart skip a beat. She seemed to have lost self-control, and her face slightly reddened as she stated, “Tomorrow is the major exam. I was worried you might be in a hurry to buy Equipment and Potions. So, I took some money from home early this morning and came to find you.”
