Chapter 20, Difficult Secret Realm, Despair Village

Translator: Silavin

Under Sun Ge’s lead, everyone stepped into the Transport Array of the Secret Realm. They were quickly teleported to a new area.

It was also Lu Fan’s first time going into a Secret Realm, so he couldn’t help but be curious and carefully observe his surroundings.

This Small World was not too big. The edges were shrouded in a purple-red boundary, which could not be passed through. The area should also be around ten kilometres in diameter.

There was no sunlight inside the Secret Realm, and it was enveloped in some kind of purple fog, so the visibility was far lower inside. Only around a hundred metres.

Further out, one could only see the hazy outlines of some buildings.

Everyone was now at the edge of the Secret Realm. Moving forward, they could vaguely see what seemed to be a village ahead, with some low houses.

However, under the shroud of darkness and fog, the houses appeared dilapidated. They had an ominous feeling to them and were extremely strange.

After entering the Secret Realm, everyone’s Mission Panel got updated, allowing everyone to view the conditions for clearing this Secret Realm.

Opportune Secret Realm – Despair Village (Difficult)
Minimum Participants: 8

Recommended Level: 20

Secret Realm Clear Condition: Kill all zombies in Despair Village, current progress 0/1200

Introduction: Three hundred years ago, a plague of unknown origin swept through this ordinary village. Large numbers of people died, and corpses were piled up by the village’s lake. However, three days later, despair started to set in. The corpses had all disappeared overnight. That night, the surviving villagers discovered that some terrifying yet familiar creatures had forcibly opened their doors and… bloodshed, death, fear, despair spread…

“A Level 20 Difficult Secret Realm…” Sun Ge frowned.

Secret Realms were divided into Easy, Normal, Difficult, Terror, and Nightmare. The higher the difficulty, the more dangerous. That worked the same for Recommend Level. At the same time, the more difficult, the more rewards for clearing the Secret Realm.

A Level 20 Difficult Secret Realm’s danger level had obviously exceeded Sun Ge’s estimate. Originally, he thought that the Opportune Secret Realm in the Mountain Stone Plains should have the Recommended Level of around 15. With everyone’s average Level of 20, clearing it should not be hard.

However, for a Level 20 Difficult Secret Realm, even a team of ten Level 20 Players would find it tricky.

Right now, he was a Level 28 Swordsman and definitely had the ability to protect himself, but the team also had two newcomers, Lu Fan and Qin Qiu, who were only Levels 13 and 14 respectively. Their Combat Power was definitely lacking.

Facing such a Secret Realm, they might actually get wiped out.

“Young Mistress…” Sun Ge looked at Qin Qiu with a difficult expression.

Qin Qiu understood Sun Ge’s concerns. She bit her lower lip and made a decision after a moment, “It’s fine, Uncle Ge. Since we’re already here, how can we just leave? It’s just a Level 20 Difficult Secret Realm. We might not necessarily be unable to clear it. Don’t forget, I’m a Holy Light Mage. My Element is advantageous against Dark Element Monsters. It looks like the Monsters here should be of the Dark Element. So, my Combat Power against them is comparable to a Level 20 Mage.”

Sun Ge thought about it and felt what Qin Qiu said made sense, so he nodded and solemnly said, “Alright then, since that’s the case, let’s still clear the Secret Realm according to the original plan.”

“Everyone, stay alert. This Secret Realm is a bit harder than I thought. Don’t get distracted. Protect the Young Mistress and that Little Brother.”

Sun Ge and the others weren’t bad people. If Lu Fan was really just a student who came out to Level, with the goal of performing well in the major exam, then as his seniors, they needed to take care of him.

These words also made Lu Fan’s impression of this group improve quite a bit.

Everyone quickly stood in formation according to their Profession and they began advancing towards Despair Village.

After everyone moved forward about two hundred metres, a rustling sound came from the front. Clearly, something was rushing towards them at high speed.

Sun Ge raised his greatsword and shouted, “Everyone be careful! Monsters are coming!”

As Sun Ge’s voice fell, shadowy figures appeared in the front, accompanied by chilling howls. One by one, Humanoid Monsters rushed through the darkness and purple fog towards everyone.

This wave of Monsters numbered around twenty. They all had purplish-black skin with rotting wounds everywhere, emitting a putrid stench.

Lu Fan directly used Appraisal Eye on them, and the Monsters’ information became clear as day.

Decaying Zombie: (Elite, Actively Hostile Monster)
Level: 15

Strength: 45

Agility: 47

Mana: 20

Endurance: 31

Skills:

Corpse Poison – Claws and teeth carry Corpse Poison. Once inflicted, will cause enemy to continuously lose Health Points and turn into a Decaying Zombie after death.

Grab and Bite – Grab the enemy and then bite.

These were Level 15 Elite Monsters, with Attributes several times higher than the Bloodthirsty Gray Fox Lu Fan had encountered before.

However, for Sun Ge and the others, this kind of Monster was not hard to deal with.
