Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 444: Chapter 443 The Topic Queen

It turns out that the protagonist recommended by Director Feng for the shoot was a second-tier female star recently entangled in scandals, named Shen Bingbing.

This Shen Bingbing, who Ye Haochuan knew of, gained fame originally as an internet celebrity. However, after becoming well-known, she acted in several tepid movies. Her acting was terrible, and the films’ box office performances were disastrous defeats. But this woman was adept at using controversial topics to promote herself, using the guise of sexiness to gain exposure with wardrobe malfunctions, thereby continually increasing her notoriety.

In the eyes of many, she was the quintessential ”publicity queen.”

Although Director Feng’s idea somewhat matched Ye Haochuan’s principle of ”stirring controversy,” Shen Bingbing’s reputation was truly dreadful, virtually a ”public bus” and ”mistress king” in the eyes of countless Huaxia netizens. Ye Haochuan really didn’t want his Ye Family Medicinal Cuisine Shop to be tainted by such a rotten woman.

Because that would likely cause many in the public to think the Medicinal Cuisine Shop, which hires such a rotten woman for advertisements, is a den of filth.

Unexpectedly, just as he was decisively rejecting the idea, Shen Bingbing suddenly showed up in the studio, surrounded by a crowd of people.

At that moment, Shen Bingbing was dressed provocatively, heavily made-up, wearing oversized sunglasses, and decked in jewelery from head to toe. Although she looked bewitching and seductive, she gave off the unbearable aura of a tacky nightclub hostess.

Upon seeing her, Ye Haochuan and Xiao Haimie instantly frowned. With such attire, she significantly damaged her impression, and letting her shoot an advertisement for the Medicinal Cuisine Shop was out of the question. She lacked an aura of elegance and splendor and instead embodied vulgarity, which could destroy the advertisement.

”How can today’s female stars be so shameless? Look at her, not wearing underwear and daring to appear in public like this,” Xiao Haimie said, her eyebrows furrowed.

Although her own clothing and appearance were also very enticing, they were appropriately so, charming without vulgarity, breathtakingly beautiful, unlike Shen Bingbing, whose exposure was repulsive.

Ye Haochuan laughed, ”Indeed, indeed. Female stars of the past seemed as if they came from heaven, but the stars of today are more like they came from Heaven on Earth.”

With a snort of laughter, Xiao Haimie gave him a sideways glance, ”Heaven on Earth? You can really say that? That place full of filth, you must’ve frequented it in the past, right?”

”Please, Sister Mei, eating is fine, but one can’t just say anything. You’re really wronging me. I’ve always been pure and upright. How could I possibly go to a place like Heaven on Earth, which I avoid like snakes and scorpions?” Ye Haochuan quickly clarified.

”As if you’d dare!” Xiao Haimie huffed.

Ye Haochuan then breathed a sigh of relief.

Just then, a wave of strong perfume wafted over, and that was Shen Bingbing approaching with a swaying waist toward Ye Haochuan and the others. It had to be said, this woman really knew how to socialize. The moment she got near Director Feng, she affectionately clung to his arm and asked sweetly, ”Brother Feng, how is it? Is my role confirmed?”

Upon hearing this, Ye Haochuan and Xiao Haimie immediately understood that Director Feng’s relationship with Shen Bingbing was extraordinary; there was probably something secretive going on, or else the old chap wouldn’t be insisting on recommending Shen Bingbing.

After all, the two financiers, Ye Haochuan and Xiao Haimie, were right beside him. Director Feng, with an embarrassed look, maintained some distance from Shen Bingbing and said seriously, ”Bingbing, come, come, hurry and meet these two, Chairman Xiao and Mr. Ye. Whether you can secure the role as the leading lady of the advertisement or not will depend on their attitude.”

Upon hearing this, Shen Bingbing immediately smiled at Xiao Haimie and Ye Haochuan, ”Bingbing has met Chairman Xiao and Mr. Ye.”

However, the moment her eyes landed on their faces, her expression showed a hint of surprise, evidently not expecting Xiao Haimie to be so enchanting and Ye Haochuan to be so striking.

Xiao Haimie’s brows furrowed, quite unable to stand the woman’s flirtatious demeanor, but out of courtesy, she didn’t react and simply nodded lightly in response.

Ye Haochuan was rather okay with it. Although Shen Bingbing gave people a somewhat bad impression, she at least had some manners, so he didn’t say much and just smiled and nodded.

”Chairman Xiao, Mr. Ye,” Shen Bingbing said with a faux charm, smiling coyly, ”I heard that you spent millions on producing a commercial. Could you consider me for the female lead role? I’ve seen President Zhou’s advertising plan, and I think the temperament of the female lead described in the plan matches me quite well. If I were to take the role, I believe we could achieve very good results.”

Xiao Haimei smiled, ”Sorry, Miss Shen, we already have someone else in mind.”

Shen Bingbing was taken aback and glanced at Xiao Haimei, then gave Director Feng a deep look, her eyes seeming to say, ”Director Feng, what’s going on?”

Director Feng’s face instantly contorted with embarrassment as he hastily intervened, ”Chairman Xiao, didn’t Mr. Ye just mention? This ad campaign aims to fully leverage hype, and with Miss Shen currently engulfed in controversy, having her as the main character would certainly make the advertisement exceptionally effective.”

Xiao Haimei still stuck to her original decision, shaking her head with a smile, ”Sorry, but we’ve indeed settled on someone.”

”This...” Director Feng choked, not knowing what to say for a moment.

However, Shen Bingbing’s complexion changed, becoming less pleasant. She huffed, ”Then, may I know which big-name star Chairman Xiao has invited?”

”I believe I have no obligation to report that to Miss Shen, do I?” Xiao Haimei replied with a light smile.

Immediately, Shen Bingbing’s face became extremely unsightly as she laughed in a strange tone, ”Chairman Xiao, of course, you have no such obligation to report to me, but after the ad is produced, it still needs to pass the review of Haishan City’s Broadcasting and Television Bureau, right? Coincidentally, the Chief of Haishan City’s Broadcasting and Television Bureau is this young lady’s godfather...”

Godfather?

Ye Haochuan felt nauseated upon hearing this. Nowadays, women seeking godfathers was certainly not a sign of good intentions!

When Xiao Haimei heard Shen Bingbing’s words, she responded with a cold smile, ”So what Miss Shen means to say is, if we don’t cast you, even if we produce the advertisement, it won’t get approved. Is that it?”

”Exactly,” Shen Bingbing huffed arrogantly.

”You...” Xiao Haimei was always strong-willed and had never been threatened before. She was about to explode when Ye Haochuan held her back.

Xiao Haimei looked at Ye Haochuan curiously, not understanding what he intended to do.

Ye Haochuan gave her a reassuring smile and then, looking at Shen Bingbing, chuckled, ”Miss Shen, no need to get upset. Honestly, in my view, with your qualities, you really resemble a big star. Having you in the role would be more than fitting.”

Shen Bingbing, unaware of his true opinion, took his words as genuine support and cooed, ”May I ask which big star Mr. Ye is referring to?”

”Ah, look at my memory, let me think... You resemble Yui Hatano, or is it Julia Kyoka?... My apologies, but with your clothes on, I really can’t quite recognize you. How about this, take off your clothes so I can have a proper look, what do you say?”

Ye Haochuan said this with a mischievous chuckle, intent on shocking his audience.
