Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 409: Chapter 408: You’re Not Convinced, Are You?

Thinking of this, he strained his ears to listen keenly, but after his soul had attached itself to the body of this assistant, he had become an ordinary human. His formidable cultivation was of no use at all, and with no other choice, he finally gave up.

”Good, it’s fine as long as there’s nothing wrong. Remember, Blondie, if anything happens, call me immediately!” Bao Guozhong instructed and then hung up the phone.

Since he was not sure which valley Zhao Bingqian and her sister were in, Ye Haochuan couldn’t help feeling a bit unwilling, and asked, ”What’s the situation?”

Bao Guozhong asked doubtfully, ”Why are you so concerned about this?”

Seeing his suspicious look, Ye Haochuan cursed himself for being too hasty and quickly explained with a smile, ”Brother Bao, I’m just worried...”

”Brother Bao?” Bao Guozhong was taken aback for a moment, frowning tightly, ”Didn’t I say, you’re my assistant, you don’t have the right to call me Brother Bao, you must call me Mr. Bao, in front of others and behind their backs. What’s going on today, have you forgotten my instructions?”

Ye Haochuan inwardly cursed his luck, damned if the saying ’talk more and you’ll lose’ wasn’t true, why had he forgotten.

Fortunately, his mental fortitude was extremely strong. He smiled, regained his composure, and said, ”Mr. Bao, I’m sorry, I forgot your instructions just now.”

”Is that so?” Bao Guozhong was somewhat skeptical, but he didn’t seem to give it too much thought and waved him off, ”All right, go check if they have come up yet?”

Ye Haochuan finally felt relieved, oh-ed in response, and turned to leave.

However, what he didn’t know was that the moment he turned around, an odd glint flashed in Bao Guozhong’s eyes.

Once out of the temple, Ye Haochuan contacted the van escorting him via a walkie-talkie, and upon learning that it would take another seven or eight minutes to reach the summit, he felt quite reassured. He thought it would be a good idea to search the nearby valleys during this gap; perhaps he would find something.

With that in mind, he went to a secluded grove where no one was around, and ran headfirst into a locust tree—his soul immediately left his body, while the body belonging to the assistant slowly slumped to the ground.

After that, the soul-separated Ye Haochuan began to drift toward the direction of the valley.

Because he had absorbed very little Essence Qi from that assistant, he didn’t have much time left—no more than three minutes. He was required to return his soul to his body within that period; otherwise, he would face the fatal consequence of his soul dispersing.

Just as Ye Haochuan was searching around the valley, Bao Guozhong back in the temple was feeling restless. After his assistant had left, the more he thought about it, the more he felt something was off, so he quietly went to the surveillance room set up in the temple.

In the surveillance room, a large screen displayed footage. Every corner inside the temple, as well as its surroundings, were under surveillance, ensuring every move of every person was under his watchful eyes.

No wonder he was so cautious. Once bitten, twice shy; he didn’t want to make the mistake of being capsized in the gutter again.

Therefore, he had spent a lot of money to have the surveillance cameras installed here.

Soon, he found his assistant in the surveillance footage, inexplicably running headfirst into a tree, then toppling to the ground.

This scene startled Bao Guozhong: ”What’s going on?”

After a while, seeing that his assistant still hadn’t gotten up, Bao Guozhong felt that something was amiss. He immediately got up to send someone to check. Soon, his assistant was carried back, revived with some water splashed on him.

”What happened to you?” Bao Guozhong asked in a grave voice.

”What happened?” The assistant shook his head, completely confused.

”What?” Bao Guozhong frowned deeply, ”How did you end up running into a tree just now?”

”Run into a tree?” The assistant still seemed completely oblivious.

”You don’t remember anything about what just happened?” Bao Guozhong pressed on.

The assistant shook his head, seemingly unable to recall anything.

Watching this, Bao Guozhong felt an eerie chill. He wondered if this young man had encountered some evil. But after careful questioning for a half-day, he still couldn’t get to the bottom of it.

However, this was enough to make Bao Guozhong’s heart grow wary.

But it was already too late. At this moment, the urgent voice from the walkie-talkie carried on the assistant suddenly transmitted, ”Brother Xie, Brother Xie, it’s not good...”

That Brother Xie was actually the nickname of the assistant.

Upon hearing that something was not good, Bao Guozhong’s heart sank rapidly. He hurriedly grabbed the walkie-talkie and asked, ”What’s the situation?”

”That kid Ye Haochuan suddenly struggled free from the handcuffs and started fighting with our brothers in the van! It looks like Ye Haochuan is too formidable; he’s completely getting the upper hand, and he has overpowered all our brothers in the van...” came the anxious reply from the walkie-talkie.

”Shit! Has Ye Haochuan grown a leopard’s guts? Does he no longer care about his woman’s life?”

Furious, Bao Guozhong picked up the walkie-talkie and ordered the snipers to get ready. However, for some reason, the assigned snipers gave no response at all.

”Damn it! Why is it dead silent again?” Bao Guozhong cursed once more.

At this moment, the formidable Ye Haochuan, as if entering a realm devoid of people, appeared in front of Bao Guozhong after consecutively knocking down more than a dozen men.

”Ye... Ye Haochuan, don’t you mess around!” Bao Guozhong gritted his teeth angrily as he faced his arch-enemy.

”This young master is going to mess around, what can you do about it?” Ye Haochuan said with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile.

Bao Guozhong’s face changed. Ye Haochuan’s reckless audacity was clearly beyond his expectations.

”Hmph, Zhao Bingqian and her sister are both in my hands. Aren’t you afraid for their lives?” Bao Guozhong said hatefully.

”Haha!” Ye Haochuan laughed out loud, shaking his head, ”Bao Guozhong, oh Bao Guozhong, do you think that by hiding them at the bottom of the valley, I would have no means against you? If you don’t believe me, why don’t you make a phone call to Blondie now and see if you can still get through?”

”Ah!”

Bao Guozhong’s complexion changed drastically. If Ye Haochuan could precisely state the hiding place of the Zhao sisters, it was likely that he had already prepared a thorough rescue plan.

Despite that, he was still somewhat unwilling to concede and quickly pulled out his phone to call Blondie. Soon, the call connected, but a woman’s voice answered, ”Bao Guozhong, you damn bastard, how dare you take me and my sister to some desolate wilderness. Just you wait, you’re doomed, doomed...”

Upon hearing this voice, Bao Guozhong instantly jolted, hastily throwing away his phone. Damn, wasn’t that his ex-aunt’s voice? Where was Blondie?

By this point, he had no desire to ponder what had happened; he turned and ran.

”What, you think you can still get away now?” Ye Haochuan pointed casually, executing a move of the Eternal Regret Finger Technique. Forceful True Qi instantly pierced a bloody hole in his lower leg.

”Ahhhh...”

Bao Guozhong face-planted on the ground, clutching his leg and wailing in agony!

The people around were all desperados hired by Bao Guozhong, especially a few armed with knives. But witnessing how Ye Haochuan effortlessly made a silent, bloodied hole in their employer’s body, everyone was scared witless, their faces deathly pale.

”Why are you all still standing around? If you don’t want to be maimed, scram!” Ye Haochuan ordered.

The desperados, frightened by his towering killing intent, fled in all directions, pissing and shitting themselves, including the assistant surnamed Xie.

In the blink of an eye, only Bao Guozhong was left alone on the scene.

However, the guy was tough, and after yelling for a while, he slowly endured the pain and propped himself up. He glared at Ye Haochuan with eyes that could almost devour a man whole.

”You’re not convinced, are you?” Ye Haochuan huffed and then flew up with a kick, landing it heavily.
