Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 426: Chapter 425: Get Lost Fast!

”There’s no misunderstanding,” Ye Haochuan snorted, his tone suddenly shifting, chuckling, ”but the prejudice is quite deep.”

Old Master Xiang grew more curious, and hastily asked what exactly was going on.

Ye Haochuan’s expression turned cold, saying, ”Old Master Xiang, you are unaware, this Secretary Tao’s granddaughter, I truly cannot cure her condition.”

”Ye Haochuan, what do you mean? If you can cure Senior Secretary Xiang’s hemiplegia, you can’t cure my daughter’s polio? I think you are deliberately refusing to treat her!” Tao Ying retorted unhappily.

I indeed am deliberately refusing to treat, so what? You want to bite me for that?

Ye Haochuan snorted, speaking coldly, ”Even if I were willing to treat, you might not be able to afford it!”

Tao Ying’s complexion changed, and indeed, she knew that what her husband and father had done was quite improper, but her pride, which she believed was above everyone else’s, prevented her from simply apologizing properly.

”Who said we can’t afford it?” Tao Ying huffed heavily, ”Isn’t it just money? Speak, how much? A million? I’ll transfer it to you right now via online banking.”

”A million will be enough?” Ye Haochuan scoffed, ”With polio like your daughter’s, the medication I use costs tens of millions per pill, and you think a mere million will suffice?”

”What? Ten million per pill?” Tao Ying’s face turned pale as she shouted, ”What kind of medicine costs that much? Ten million? Are you planning to rob a bank?”

”Body-Strengthening Pill, have you heard of it?” Ye Haochuan said with a disdainful expression.

”Body-Strengthening Pill? The one that Haishan University Affiliated Hospital advertises as the world’s most expensive?” Tao Ying was shocked.

She had heard from a friend at the pricing bureau about the medication and initially thought it was purely scamming consumers; she didn’t realize it actually existed.

”If you don’t believe it, forget it!” Ye Haochuan said dismissively, waving his hand, ”Enough said, please leave, we won’t send you off!”

Tao Ying looked extremely displeased. This Junior Godly Doctor Ye was simply too arrogant; who could stand it?

”Ye Haochuan, listen to me well, who do you think you are? We have already given you great face by coming to seek you, don’t be ungrateful!” Tao Ying shouted.

At the side, Tao Dongsheng was sweating profusely. This troublesome daughter! What is she saying? Doesn’t she know there is a VIP present?

Sure enough, he noticed Senior Secretary Xiang frowning, his eyebrows twitching, obviously suppressing his anger.

Seeing this, Tao Dongsheng couldn’t stay silent any longer, and yelled at his daughter: ”Shut up!”

Tao Ying was stunned, clearly not expecting her father to scold her like that.

Seeing her behave herself, Tao Dongsheng hurriedly apologized in a low voice, ”Doctor Ye, don’t listen to her ranting, about the consultation fee, let’s talk, how much? I’ll immediately find a way to raise it.”

”Fifty million!” Ye Haochuan said without a second thought.

”What? Fifty million?” Tao Ying’s voice rose again, ”Ye, you’re being overly extortionate, aren’t you?”

”Since that’s the case, then I am unable to assist further, please leave,” Ye Haochuan snorted.

”As a doctor, how could you engage in opaque dealings? I have never heard of such an exorbitant consultation fee, you are just too heartless.” Tao Ying became increasingly angry.

”Hmph, those who respect doctors, I treat for free, I do not accept a dime, but for people like your family, who curse and threaten at the slightest displeasure, even using your power to oppress, thinking you are high above, and others are mere ants to be trampled, why should I tolerate that?”

Pausing, Ye Haochuan continued, ”My medical skills are indeed for saving lives, but they are not for currying favor with powerful individuals like you. You refuse to admit and apologize for your mistakes, and you think you can deceive your way out with your underhanded tricks? Sorry, but I, Ye Haochuan, will not indulge such people!”

Having said that, Ye Haochuan gestured dismissively, ”Get out quickly! You are not welcome here!”

”Junior Godly Doctor Ye, may I say something?” At this point, Old Master Xiang spoke up.

He was indeed a cunning old fox, well aware of the grudge between the parties, and a significant grudge at that. However, seeing the little girl in Tao Ying’s arms, he felt somewhat sympathetic.

Towards Old Master Xiang, Ye Haochuan of course did not want to offend him openly, replying, ”Please speak, Old Master Xiang.”

”I’ve gleaned a bit about the troubles between you two, but after all, the child is innocent. For the sake of the child, why don’t you...”

Upon hearing Old Master Xiang’s words, Ye Haochuan looked again at the little girl in Tao Ying’s arms. She was a beautiful little girl with bright eyes and white teeth, unfortunately suffering from polio which caused severe deformity of her leg bones, leading to progressive paralysis of the lower body, truly a sight that tugged at one’s heartstrings.

However, Ye Haochuan had his principles. There were many more children in this world more pitiable than this little girl, who just happened to be born into a wealthy and prestigious family. What about those children struggling at the brink of subsistence?

”Old Master Xiang, there’s no need to persuade me further, my mind is made up. For people who readily abuse their power, I can’t stand to watch, and I will not offer my medical services until they realize the depth of their errors,” Ye Haochuan resolutely said.

Old Master Xiang sighed and could say no more, but out of curiosity, he really wondered what exactly Tao Dongsheng did to pressure others with his power that made Ye Haochuan so angry?

Thinking this, Old Master Xiang then sternly asked, ”Tao Dongsheng, you tell it, what exactly happened?”

On hearing his serious tone and being addressed directly by his name, Tao Dongsheng hardly dared to reveal the truth, stammering, ”This...”

”Let me tell it instead.” Ye Haochuan then recounted what had happened.

Upon hearing the full story, Old Master Xiang immediately blew his top, exclaiming, ”Well, you, Tao Dongsheng! Your son-in-law made a mistake, and rather than correcting him, you joined in pressuring others with your influence. You are really unfit to be the Secretary of the City Committee!”

”Ah!”

Tao Dongsheng’s complexion changed drastically. Although Senior Secretary Xiang had no real power, his influence was immense. If he decided to speak to the leaders in the provincial committee, Tao Dongsheng’s career would be completely ruined.

Realizing this, Tao Dongsheng quickly pleaded, ”Senior Secretary Xiang, I was wrong, it was my fault, please forgive me, I promise I will never do it again...”

”Why are you apologizing to me? You’ve got the wrong person,” Old Master Xiang said with a look of disappointment, sighing, ”Oh, this Tao Dongsheng, truly lacking vision. Can’t you see I’m trying to help you? Hmph, had it not been for your granddaughter’s pitiable condition, would I bother helping you?”

Seeing the look on Old Master Xiang’s face, Tao Dongsheng immediately realized his intention and quickly apologized deeply to Ye Haochuan, even bowing low.

At this moment, Tao Ying also realized the gravity of the situation, gritted her teeth, and followed suit by bowing deeply, saying, ”Doctor Ye, I was wrong earlier, I apologize to you, please...”
