Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 438: Chapter 437 Do I Need to Spoil It?

Following closely behind Zhong Linghui was a middle-aged woman who looked like a nanny, carrying two shopping bags in her hands, which Ye Haochuan identified at a glance as girls’ clothing.

”Mom, you’re finally here, my sister and I have been waiting so long,” Lin Zixuan burst with excitement, throwing herself into her mother’s embrace.

At that moment, Lin Qingxuan also joyfully approached, and the three women hugged each other, crying and laughing, leaving Ye Haochuan out in the cold.

Fortunately, Zhong Linghui came to her senses and gestured for Ye Haochuan to come over.

After all, she was an elder, so Ye Haochuan could only scurry over obediently.

”Hehe, hello Auntie Zhong,” Ye Haochuan greeted with a smile.

”Haochuan, I really owe you one for tonight’s incident. Without you, my two daughters would have suffered a great deal,” Zhong Linghui said with a smile.

A future mother-in-law sure knows how to talk. It warmed Yours Truly Ye right in the cockles of his heart.

Ye Haochuan nodded to himself, but he knew this was his future mother-in-law’s way of pacifying him. After all, sweet words don’t cost a penny. She might very well be using the classic strategy of offering a sweet date before wielding a big stick.

”Haochuan, could you come out for a moment? I have something to say to you,” Zhong Linghui suddenly said.

Given that they were in a three-star hotel, the room wasn’t very spacious. In order for her daughters to change clothes comfortably, she had to ask him to step outside with her to talk.

”Sure,” Ye Haochuan readily agreed.

The two of them then went out to the corridor, which was, fortunately, empty.

”Haochuan, about tonight’s incident, I hope you keep your lips sealed and not tarnish my daughters’ reputations,” Zhong Linghui huffed, her tone carrying a hint of a threat.

Damn, Qingxuan that little girl is one thing, but Eldest Miss Lin, that violent chick’s reputation, do I, Yours Truly Ye, even need to slander it?

Ye Haochuan was speechless. In all of Haishan, who didn’t know about Eldest Miss Lin’s unrestrained nature? Today’s shenanigans were probably her doing as well. If I hadn’t come to the rescue in time, who knows what might have happened to her by now? Yet you, her mother, still think your daughter is demure!

However, despite his internal gripes, Ye Haochuan dared not voice his thoughts in front of his future mother-in-law, and simply chuckled, ”Auntie Zhong, you really think too poorly of Yours Truly Ye. Am I, Ye Haochuan, someone who shoots his mouth off?”

”I hope so,” Zhong Linghui said with a nod, speaking indifferently, ”But I expect not to hear any gossip whatsoever, after all, Zixuan and Qingxuan are both girls.”

For the love of—will this never end?

Ye Haochuan felt a bit annoyed inside, but he chuckled, ”Rest assured, Auntie Zhong, even if Eldest Miss Lin and Second Miss Lin don’t care about their reputations, mine is still very precious to me.”

What a sharp-tongued little slicker!

Zhong Linghui shook her head, pondering for a moment before saying, ”Haochuan, there is one more thing I think I should clear the air with you about.”

Seeing her serious demeanor, Ye Haochuan sensed that something was amiss and said, ”Please speak, Auntie Zhong.”

”Actually, as parents, we are not that conservative towards our children’s relationships; in fact, we are quite open-minded. However, no matter how open-minded we are, there are boundaries. Among the most important is that we will never accept someone who is not faithful in a relationship,” Zhong Linghui said.

Great, this remark is clearly insinuating that Yours Truly Ye is unfaithful in love.

Ye Haichuan chuckled and said, ”Auntie Zhong, I agree with what you’re saying, completely agree. As for me, I also hate it when people are unfaithful in relationships.”

Seeing his grinning face, Zhong Linghui was a bit puzzled. Does this brat even understand what I said?

”So, you understand what I mean?” asked Zhong Linghui.

”Understand, understand,” Ye Haichuan laughed, ”But what I’m saying is, I hate it when others are unfaithful. As for myself, well, you know.”

This sly guy, actually playing word games with me, despises infidelity in others but not in himself—what kind of person does that?

Zhong Linghui was completely speechless, but she also realized that her earlier admonishments were as effective as preaching to a duck—it hadn’t worked at all.

It seemed that getting this rascal to back off voluntarily was out of the question, and considering his background wasn’t simple — he even had the family patriarch’s approval and was strongly pushed towards a match with Qingxuan—it was clear that the only way forward was to stop Qingxuan from interacting with him.

With her mind made up, Zhong Linghui calmly said, ”Alright, I understand your premise. From now on, you’re not allowed to get close to Qingxuan. She’s still naïve about relationships, and I hope you won’t hurt her.”

These words were undoubtedly a death sentence for Ye Haichuan.

Ye Haichuan would be lying if he said he wasn’t frustrated, but since his future mother-in-law had spoken so frankly, it wasn’t wise for him to insist. Otherwise, things would only get more complicated.

”Auntie Zhong, rest assured, although I may be a bit of a Casanova, when it comes to relationships, I tend to be passive. As long as no one comes to seduce me, even if she’s as lovely as a fairy, I’m not interested.”

Ye Haichuan smiled, his message quite clear: he wasn’t interested in her daughter, but if her daughter were to throw herself at him, then he couldn’t be blamed.

Zhong Linghui’s expression changed, and just as she was frowning, Ye Haichuan chuckled, ”Auntie Zhong, it’s getting late. Since both your daughters are now with you, I’ll excuse myself. Goodbye.”

Without looking back, he walked away.

Watching him leave, a chill settled on Zhong Linghui’s face, and her inner thoughts grew even more firm.

Suddenly, the door opened, and Lin Zixuan and Lin Qingxuan, the sisters, came out.

Seeing no sign of Ye Haichuan, Lin Qingxuan’s face instantly betrayed a hint of dejection.

”Mom, where did that guy Ye Haichuan go?” asked Lin Zixuan.

”He had urgent matters to attend to, so he left,” Zhong Linghui said nonchalantly, then glanced at Lin Qingxuan, ”By the way, Qingxuan, I’ve asked your cousin in the United States to help you apply to a university there. Prepare yourself in the next few days; you’re going to study abroad.”

This was the brilliant plan she had just thought of; as someone who had been through the ups and downs of love, if she wanted to sever her daughter’s relationship with that philandering scoundrel Ye Haichuan, then keeping them apart was the best way—preferably by not meeting for a long time. Given enough time, even the deepest feelings would fade.

”What?” Lin Qingxuan was shocked, ”Mom, I’m doing well studying here at Haishan University, why do I need to study abroad?”

”Although Haishan University has some fame in our country, it’s leagues behind the prestigious universities overseas. For the sake of your future, it’s best if you follow what I’ve arranged and just focus on your studies,” Zhong Linghui said in an irrefutable tone.

Lin Qingxuan was reluctant but didn’t dare to raise any objections, given her gentle nature.

Lin Zixuan, though not the sharpest tool in the shed, could tell there was more to the matter; it was clearly aimed at dealing with that brat Ye Haichuan. Hehe, my mother really is one step ahead.
