Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 440: Chapter 439: Buying Candy for You

Seeing her suddenly state she couldn’t take it, Ye Haochuan was momentarily stunned; he couldn’t believe that this little girl hadn’t heard her elder brother, Han Dazhuang, speak of the benefits of the Postnatal Pill.

However, having spent so much time with Han Xue’er, he was aware of her temperament and knew there must be a reason, so he asked, ”Xue’er, what’s wrong?”

Han Xue’er hesitated for a moment. She had intended to remain silent, but pressed by Ye Haochuan’s persistent queries, she finally stammered, ”If I take this Postnatal Pill, then Sister Haimie, she...”

This lovely silly girl!

Ye Haochuan felt both moved and reassured. Having such a daughter, what more could a father ask for?

”Xue’er...” Ye Haochuan grasped her small hand, pressed it against his cheek, and gently caressed it as he spoke softly, ”I know what you want to say. There’s no need to worry about your Sister Haimie. With her talent, I can directly impart a Technique Manual to her, no need for this Postnatal Pill.”

”Oh.” Han Xue’er was then reassured, broke into a happy smile, but just as she was about to swallow the Postnatal Pill, she suddenly felt weak and was about to collapse to the ground.

Ye Haochuan, with his quick reflexes, hurriedly supported her, anxiously asking, ”Xue’er, what’s wrong with you?”

A realization struck him, and Ye Haochuan reached out to touch her forehead, finding it scorching hot, at which point he understood she was suffering from wind-cold due to overexertion.

He then took out a Wind-Cold Pill that he had concocted himself, ready to administer it to her.

Just at this moment, Han Xue’er woke up groggily and said apologetically, ”Brother Ye, I...”

”Silly girl, don’t talk. Look at you, you’ve been overworked these past few days, haven’t you? You’ve caught a chill. Here, take this Wind-Cold Pill that Brother Ye made. Once you take it, I guarantee it will cure your illness,” Ye Haochuan said with a smile.

Han Xue’er hummed in acknowledgment, and reached out her hand, ”Brother Ye, give it to me. I’ll take it myself.”

However, she seemed a bit weak, and as she raised her hand, it dropped back down helplessly.

”Look at how frail you are; you can’t even stand a breeze. Let Brother Ye feed you the medicine. Come on, be good, open your mouth for the medicine, and afterward Brother Ye will buy you some sweets,” he said.

Han Xue’er chuckled. Brother Ye really knew how to coax someone, treating her like a three-year-old child.

But in her heart, it was as sweet as if smeared with honey, an indescribable happiness.

Ye Haochuan then stuffed the Wind-Cold Pill into her little mouth, but as soon as the little miss tasted the medicine, her pretty face immediately revealed a hint of bitterness: ”Brother Ye, this medicine tastes so bitter...”

”Good medicine tastes bitter but is beneficial for ailments,” Ye Haochuan replied nonchalantly with a grin, ”How about Brother Ye chews it up and then feeds it into your mouth?”

”Ah!”

Han Xue’er felt weak all over when she heard that, Brother Ye was really too shameless... sending her heart pounding uncontrollably.

And so, under Ye Haochuan’s supervision, she gently opened her little mouth and swallowed the Wind-Cold Pill.

This Wind-Cold Pill wasn’t something trivial; as soon as it reached Han Xue’er’s stomach, its medicinal power dispersed immediately, and in no time, her wind-cold symptoms vanished and her spirit also recovered quite a bit.

Nodding, Ye Haochuan smiled and instructed Han Xue’er to take the Postnatal Pill as well.

Han Xue’er hummed an acknowledgment, swallowed the pill, and within a short span, she felt a transformation from head to toe, particularly in strength, which had obviously increased considerably.

It could be said that from now on, should she encounter those small-time troublemakers in society, the strength she now possessed would probably prevent her from suffering a major loss.

A quiet night passed.

The next morning, Ye Haochuan went to the hospital to work.

Since he had already instructed Kou Jing to manage the appointments and deliberately reduced the number of patients for him, by a little past ten in the morning, he finally finished seeing the registered patients. However, just as he was preparing to focus on cultivating the Longevity Technique, someone walked in.

He knew the person, it was Wang Tong, the same one who had argued with him before at the art college because of Zhang Ziyi.

With Wang Tong was a middle-aged couple, who by their flashy appearance, were clearly people of considerable social status and identity.

Ye Haochuan chuckled. Wang Tong had finally shown up, but that was to be expected. This kid suffered from innate kidney deficiency, and unless he found a medical practitioner within the Martial Arts Path Realm, probably only Ye Haochuan could save him.

”Doctor Ye, hello,” Wang Tong said, his face red as he spoke respectfully.

Ye Haochuan nodded and said, ”You’ve arrived?”

”Yes, Doctor Ye,” replied Wang Tong humbly.

Then he introduced the middle-aged couple behind him, smiling as he said, ”Doctor Ye, this is my father, Wang Jianming, and this is my mother, Ke Xiuhua. I brought them here mainly to let them see your medical skills and to convince them to pay the remaining ninety million so that you can treat my condition...”

”Stop talking, Tong,” Wang Jianming interrupted unceremoniously, then looked Ye Haochuan up and down with disdain, ”This Doctor Ye looks quite young, huh?”

Ye Haochuan knew what he meant; he was obviously doubting Ye Haochuan’s abilities, so he just laughed it off and said, ”Oh well...”

”Hmph!” Wang Jianming snorted heavily. ”What kind of medical ethics does this doctor have, asking for a hundred million as a consultation fee to treat my son? Isn’t that a bit excessive?”

”If you think it’s too much, you’re more than welcome to find another doctor to diagnose and treat your son,” Ye Haochuan said with a casual smile.

”What kind of nonsense is that?” exclaimed the middle-aged woman Ke Xiuhua indignantly. ”I’ve lived half a lifetime and have yet to see a doctor who dares to defy all decency by charging such an exorbitant fee. Are you, kid, out of your mind with greed? Be sensible and return the ten million my son gave you right now, or else you’re going to regret it!”

”Heh heh, Ms. Ke, are you implying that I, Ye Haochuan, pocketed your son’s ten million consultation fee?”

Ye Haochuan’s expression darkened. To give Wang Tong peace of mind, he had specially given him a Body-Strengthening Pill to take, which was worth ten million per pill. Was that money going to go down the drain?

”Exactly!” Ke Xiuhua said loudly.

Ye Haochuan chuckled but did not respond directly. Instead, he looked at Wang Tong and said, ”Wang Tong, when I gave you a Body-Strengthening Pill, you knew its effect. I don’t need to explain much, do I?”

Wang Tong nodded and said, ”Doctor Ye, that Body-Strengthening Pill really was extraordinary. I feel like I have endless energy now, my spirit has greatly improved, and even my slightly astigmatic eyes have completely healed. I believe in you, Doctor Ye, you can definitely cure my innate kidney deficiency...”

Wang Jianming and Ke Xiuhua stomped their feet in frustration. This damn son, why keep making things worse? Couldn’t he tell that his parents were trying to get back the ten million they were scammed out of? Ten million, that was a significant amount of money!

Right at that moment, Ye Haochuan began to laugh, giving off an air of mystery, ”Mr. Wang, you’ve been suffering from nephritis for some time now, haven’t you? And Ms. Ke, you have congenital lumbar disease, right?”

Wang Jianming and Ke Xiuhua were stunned speechless. How... how did he know all that?
