Chapter 1995: Chapter 1996: Color Match Mania

Babaya looked curiously at the tangled colors in front of her: ”Sir, what is this?”

”This is your test,” Angel smiled slightly, ”All you need to do is erase all these colors, then you’ll have passed this test.”

Erase all of them? Babaya’s brows furrowed slightly.

This mess of colors was an illusion created by Angel. To erase them, normally you’d need to use the Illusion Technique to be effective. But Babaya hasn’t learned the Illusion Technique, and Angel wouldn’t deliberately set up such a question to make fun of her. That means there’s another way to erase these colors, and it’s something she can do.

But how exactly should she do it?

As Babaya was pondering the solution, Angel provided the answer: ”To eliminate the color is actually quite simple, just focus on one color, and use your awareness to sketch the shape it takes in the illusion, then you can make it disappear.”

The main purpose of this test was to observe whether Babaya’s awareness is pure, so Angel directly gave the answer; there was no need for Babaya to waste time guessing the method.

”Erasing colors is simple, but you must remember: you have to sketch the shape in the illusion in one go, and each time you can only focus on one color. If during sketching you get distracted by other colors, you’ll have to start over.”

Though Babaya was puzzled about the significance of the test, she still followed Angel’s instruction and began to focus her vision on the colors.

Babaya first chose a touch of dark green.

This green wasn’t evenly distributed, but it wasn’t entangled with other colors, making it relatively easy to sketch.

Once Babaya had a rough impression, she began preparing to sketch.

However, before starting, Babaya hesitated, wondering how to sketch using awareness.

Babaya tried focusing her gaze on that touch of dark green, gradually building the green’s outline in her mind. As she completed sketching the outline, that touch of dark green in the illusion began to blur and then completely vanished.

”Was it really like this?!” Babaya was surprised, thinking she had to use spiritual power to sketch; she didn’t realize it was this simple.

Babaya couldn’t help but look at Angel, uncertain whether what she’d done was correct.

Angel nodded: ”Very well done, though the start is simple; it won’t be so easy later on.”

As soon as he finished speaking, at the spot where the dark green had dissipated, changes started. The nearby colors began to spread, like flowing water, into the empty spot left by the vanished green.

This meant the colors were not only unevenly distributed now but were also starting to move!

Once they started moving, you couldn’t sketch the outline slowly. You had to complete the sketch in your awareness as quickly as possible.

Gazing at the abstract-like illusion, Babaya felt pressured.

Under this pressure, Babaya cautiously chose another somewhat simpler color, again green, but a lighter green.

Babaya carefully observed the light green’s motion trajectory, and at a certain moment, she instantly sketched an outline in her mind.

The light green in the illusion disappeared accordingly.

”Succeeded!” Joy surged in Babaya’s heart, but she dared not relax, knowing it would definitely become increasingly complicated.

Next, Babaya chose a tender green. Again, success at the first attempt. Babaya wasn’t concerned, thinking it was simply because the initial stages were smooth.

Crimson, one attempt success; orange, one attempt success; vermillion, one attempt success...

Babaya thought the hardest must be yet to come, but didn’t notice the colors in the illusion disappearing visibly fast.

This speed of disappearance even surprised Angel.

The reason Angel set up this test was to prepare Babaya for helping Jon develop the mother tree network. In the network, awareness is the passkey. So, to develop the mother tree network, strong awareness is necessary.

The color test Angel set mainly tested awareness.

Or rather, the expression and purity of awareness.

Generally, the purer one’s heart, the purer the awareness; but if the heart is too pure, like a child’s, then the expression of awareness is much weaker.

Only when both are present can one clearly separate the mixed colors.

Angel had always believed Babaya had a pure heart and, after experiencing so many twists and turns, should be capable of completing this test.

However, in Angel’s anticipation, Babaya completing the test wouldn’t be easy, probably requiring many retries to slowly achieve success.

Yet, much to Angel’s surprise, Babaya had succeeded on the first try every time so far.

And the speed was incredibly fast.

The entire color disappearance looked like Babaya was playing... a color-matching game.

It seemed as if there wasn’t the slightest obstacle in Babaya’s heart.

The more Angel observed, the more surprised he became. At the same time, his admiration for Babaya grew even more.

”With a pure heart and a determined, hardworking character, not contaminated by external forces, nor afraid of external changes, carrying independent thoughts and a spirit of progression.” Angel nodded secretly, believing Babaya might be the one among the trio with the greatest potential to go the furthest.

And the one most capable of shouldering the significant responsibility of the race.

After Babaya erased a patch of pure white color, she was about to move to the next color but found, upon turning her head, that the surroundings were already empty.

Babaya was still waiting for the most challenging color to arrive.

And yet, it was... all done?

”Is it really this easy?” Babaya found it hard to believe, muttering softly to herself.

”Well done,” Angel smiled gently, ”Although it’s not difficult, achieving completion on the first try is actually not easy.”

After Angel spoke, with a light wave of his hand, a mix of colors appeared again as an illusion before him.

Angel looked at Kudodo: ”Now, would you like to give it a try?”

Kudodo, who had been eagerly watching Babaya remove colors, nodded without hesitation upon hearing Angel’s invitation.

Following Babaya’s method, Kudodo first picked a cyan color.

Success on the first attempt.

When the color began flowing, he then picked an orange-yellow and succeeded again on the first attempt.

Angel, seeing this: ”...”

Angel had Kudodo try merely to make a comparison, to show Babaya that completing this test wasn’t that easy. However, this comparative education seemed rather unsuccessful.

Watching Kudodo erase colors swiftly and getting more excited, Angel saw a demeanor like a wealthy playboy in a casino pursuit of entertainment... Kudodo indeed seemed to treat this test as a matching game.

Nevertheless, Angel was slightly comforted that, as the colors got more entwined and harder to separate, Kudodo did make mistakes.

For the color he made the most mistakes on, Kudodo took four tries to make it disappear successfully.

Four attempts seemed a lot, but from Angel’s perspective, it was quite good. He originally thought Babaya would make ten or more mistakes.

After Kudodo succeeded in erasing the colors, Angel no longer focused on comparisons but, after a moment of silence, asked: ”Would you... like to join too?”
