Chapter 1971: Chapter 1972: The Concealed Scene

At yesterday’s exchange meeting, Maya had already proven her power through the prophecy of the Doomsday Scenery. Coupled with her identity and status, when Maya stood up, no one would think that she would speak nonsense.

However, it slightly surprised them, how much prophecy did Maya actually see?

Seeing Maya stand up, Lapuye did not let the Observer speak, but looked at Maya with kind eyes: ”Witch Maya, are you ready to speak?”

Maya nodded: ”Yes.”

Lapuye gestured with his short staff, indicating that the upcoming time belonged to Maya.

Maya pondered for a moment, then spoke: ”I’m sorry, what I want to say today is not a new prophecy, but a supplementary explanation of the Doomsday Scenery I mentioned yesterday.”

As soon as she finished speaking, everyone’s attention was drawn to Maya, including some self-important Observers who couldn’t help but listen attentively.

For the upper echelons of the Southern Domain Wizard World, what most caught their attention yesterday night, apart from the Seed and the Peach Heart Theater, was the Doomsday Scenery that Maya mentioned.

Although Lapuye said that this Doomsday Scenery might not occur in the Southern Domain, this cannot be certain. Often, the more we wish something bad doesn’t happen, the more the answer leans towards the bad side.

The crowd was united against the Seed; they were in awe yet expectant towards the Peach Heart Theater; but regarding the Doomsday Scenery Maya mentioned, they felt alert and fearful.

It can be said that among these three major prophecies, the one that instilled the greatest fear in everyone was the Doomsday Scenery.

Now, with Maya bringing up this prophecy again, naturally the crowd was filled with suspicion and attention.

Maya took a deep breath before saying: ”In fact, regarding the Doomsday Scenery, there was a segment I didn’t reveal yesterday. In this segment, there appeared a group of figures. Due to certain rules and traits, although I saw these figures, I didn’t clearly see their appearance. I don’t know who these people are, but they feel somewhat familiar, so I withheld this segment yesterday to verify their identities.”

Maya’s excuse was slightly clumsy. But no one minded, because even Observers would conceal some information when speaking about future segments. So, Maya’s hiding of information wasn’t the issue, the focus was, why did Maya suddenly choose to reveal the information she had concealed today?

Does this mean that the figures she saw could affect everyone’s assessment of the Doomsday Scenery?

Everyone was tense, watching Maya, waiting for her explanation.

Maya slowly turned and looked at a Prophet Wizard sitting not far from her. He was a man whose time seemed misplaced on him; his face was youthful, his skin as transparent as a baby’s, but he had dry white hair and a pair of weary, murky eyes.

His robe was embroidered with clocks of various styles and fashions, and just from this peculiar Wizard Robe, one could identify him.

He hails from the Frostmoon Alliance, a Prophet Wizard who believes in the Wheel of Time, ”The Pendulum Clock” Luci.

Luci seemed to sense Maya’s gaze too, he slowly lifted his eyes, and the two pairs of equally old eyes seemed to transcend the gap of time even across the few steps between them.

Maya looked deeply at Luci: ”Among the figures I saw, one was from the Frostmoon Alliance.”

Although many had roughly guessed the reason Maya was solemnly watching Luci, it still slightly surprised them when Maya spoke it out.

Seeing people from the Frostmoon Alliance in the Doomsday Scenery, what does this signify?

”Who is it?” Luci asked with a frown.

Maya gently raised her hand, and an Illusion Node she had prepared long ago quickly condensed a shadow in mid-air. Initially, this shadow was only in human form, revealing no features.

”At first, what I saw was just such a vague figure. However, after my investigation and analysis, I have confirmed this person’s identity.” Maya waved her hand, revealing the True Body of the shadow.

The hall was in an uproar, for anyone who had followed the recent New Star Tournament could recognize the True Body of this shadow.

This youth with black cat ears... isn’t he ”Cold Eye Cat” Wildhe?

Luci scrutinized Wildhe’s appearance: ”This person has not yet been incorporated into the ranks of the alliance members.”

Wildhe, hailing from Winter Academy. The Frostmoon Alliance is a coalition of several Witcher Organizations, one of which is Winter Academy.

But as Luci pointed out, the Frostmoon Alliance, though a coalition, is exceedingly exalted, recruiting elites from various Witcher Organizations, thus forming a formidable force. Although Wildhe is from an affiliated organization under the Frostmoon Alliance, he has not yet been recruited into the alliance itself, so he cannot be considered an official member of the alliance.

What Luci was essentially expressing is simple: why Wildhe will appear in the Doomsday Scenery in the future should have no bearing on the Frostmoon Alliance.

However, since this is an event that will happen in the future, it cannot be ruled out that Wildhe might be inducted as an official member of the alliance in the near future.

”Since Wildhe appeared, could this Doomsday Scenery be related to some Otherworld that the Frostmoon Alliance is currently conquering? Or perhaps, a world about to be pioneered?” someone speculated.

Luci listened too; if this were indeed the case, he would definitely need to report back to the higher-ups of the alliance for careful re-evaluation of the worlds currently being pioneered and about to be pioneered, to avoid any unforeseen mishaps.

However, as speculations abounded, Maya continued: ”I don’t know if it’s an Otherworld being conquered by the Frostmoon Alliance; however, besides Wildhe, there are several other figures. These figures do not all come from the Frostmoon Alliance.”

So saying, Maya revealed all the shadows she had seen.

The forms of the shadows varied, but only three shadows showed their true faces, namely Wildhe from Winter Academy, Dong Liz from Shaloo Ridge, and Falga from Silent Hill.

”I recognized only these three; the rest are either too indistinct or don’t have obvious features. However, if you’re familiar, feel free to try identifying them.”

Just as Maya finished speaking, a bespectacled young man excitedly exclaimed: ”That sword-wielding woman is Mrs. Monica from the Valley of Breeze! I’m certain!”

After some questions, they learned that this bespectacled young man was a Prophecy Apprentice from the Forest of Night Whisper. He also works part-time as a reporter for ”Glowing City Night Talk” and once interviewed at the New Star Tournament.

He didn’t only recognize Monica but also identified several others, including the wide-shouldered man as Kairu, the one in a puffed skirt as Doll Sheila, and the one with a round shield as Romid...

Initially, everyone was perplexed about why these people from various Witcher Organizations would appear in the Doomsday Scenery.

Yet, as the bespectacled young man identified more people, their feelings grew increasingly peculiar.

Though these individuals come from diverse Witcher Organizations, they share two common characteristics: First, they’re all apprentices; second, they’re all contestants in the New Star Tournament, those so-called Supernovas!

”These people are all apprentices from the Southern Domain; could the doomsday indeed occur in the Southern Domain?”

”But why are they all contestants from the New Star Tournament? Could it be that this is related to Sky Mechanical City?” someone murmured.

Though others did not respond, this speculation, nonetheless, became a consensus.

The crowd turned their gaze to Oupulia—the Prophet Wizard residing in Sky Mechanical City, hoping to garner some answers from him.

However, Oupulia appeared just as bewildered as they were, evidently unaware of any mystery within.

”After the exchange meeting concludes, I’ll contact City Lord Rosen to inquire about this matter. I will inform everyone during tomorrow’s exchange meeting of the details,” Oupulia said sincerely, gaining the acceptance of the audience.

After all, this issue involves several Witcher Organizations. Sky Mechanical City also has a precedent of causing harm to a large group of apprentices in Purification Garden, and judging by the shadows, this group of apprentices appears not to be in good condition. Therefore, regardless of whether or not this matter is related to them, Sky Mechanical City needs to clarify this.

Once Maya had supplemented her prophecy, she sat back down.

Maya hadn’t anticipated that everyone would so quickly turn their suspicion toward Sky Mechanical City. However, this was exactly what she wanted, as she had learned some inside information from Angel, but still wanted to hear how Sky Mechanical City would respond to this matter.
