Chapter 1961: Chapter 1962: Restoration Complete

The Tree Spirit Avatar opened its eyes shortly after.

”Rhein already knows. He is in a meeting right now but will come over later to personally contact City Lord Rosen and Dean Muse.”

After conveying the message from Rhein, Tree Spirit said to Angel, ”As long as the major witcher organizations unite, eliminating the Seed shouldn’t be difficult. By then, you won’t have to worry about being targeted by the Seed.”

”However, before taking formal action against the Seed, you might need to lay low for a while.”

Angel understood this reasoning, as he also needed some time for self-reflection recently. Therefore, he didn’t need to deliberately avoid attention, nor was he in the mood to stir up trouble.

After discussing the Seed, Tree Spirit inquired about Angel’s progress with the restoration. Once he confirmed that Angel hadn’t yet officially repaired the Magical Energy Array, Tree Spirit didn’t say much, only asking to be notified after the repairs were completed before disappearing, evidently eager to return to hear gossip from Rhein’s side.

Angel returned to the relic, feeling significantly more at ease.

In his view, the Seed posed little threat to him. As long as he stayed under the radar until the major witcher organizations band together to eradicate the Seed, he would be worry-free. And the waiting time shouldn’t be too long since prolonged delays would be detrimental to the Southern Domain Wizards’ Realm. Angel estimated that by the year’s end, both sides would likely enter a standoff, relieving him of worries about being targeted by the Seed.

Feeling relaxed, Angel picked up the Blood Ink and carving pen to begin the repair of the broken Magic Patterns on the Door.

Immersed in the Magic Pattern restoration work, Angel completely lost track of time. Moreover, because his spirits were high, his repair efficiency exceeded expectations.

When the Morning Star of the next day rose from the dark and somber night, casting its first light on a new day, Angel’s restoration was finally complete.

When the final corner connected by the carving pen was completed, the blood-red lines emitted a faint glow.

The glow lasted for about half a minute, changing from a deep red to a light shade, and finally turned colorless before being absorbed into the Magic Pattern.

After the light receded, a sense of harmony was apparent between the door and the Magic Pattern. It was as if the dense Magic Patterns had naturally grown on the door, rather than being engraved.

Angel used the Eye of Nalda to conduct a comprehensive inspection of all the Magic Patterns.

After confirming the symmetry and accuracy of each Pattern and ensuring no anomalies in the energy flow in the circuits, Angel finally breathed a sigh of relief.

At this point, Angel could confidently say that the Magical Energy Array on the door had been successfully repaired.

Now, all that remained was to inject energy into the ”Trigger Magic Pattern” to activate the Magical Energy Array.

However, Angel did not immediately activate it. Instead, he stretched lazily, carefully examined the Magic Pattern, and, filled with a sense of achievement, walked out of the relic.

Angel naturally went out to call Tree Spirit over.

He could activate the Magical Energy Array on his own, but to be safe, he called Tree Spirit over as well. If anything went wrong, Tree Spirit could quickly inform Rhein, preventing Angel from getting into trouble.

After a while, Tree Spirit’s Avatar returned to the relic with Angel.

Tree Spirit appeared very excited. Since his main body couldn’t move and he seldom participated in adventures or explorations, he was naturally curious when a relic containing secrets appeared within the range of his cognitive abilities.

Now, with the possibility of obtaining answers from the door, how could he not be thrilled?

”The repair of this Magical Energy Array is perfect. Even if a Magic Rune Mage were to come, they couldn’t find any faults.” Tree Spirit also checked the Magical Energy Array. Although he himself couldn’t draw Magic Patterns, he could certainly assess the quality of a Magical Energy Array with his discerning eye.

”Shall I start the activation now?” Angel spoke, preparing to step forward to activate the Trigger Magic Pattern.

”Wait, let me activate it.” Tree Spirit stopped Angel, not out of concern for Angel’s safety but simply because he wanted to be the first to unravel the mystery of the relic.

It didn’t matter who activated it; Angel nodded and stepped back to the side.

Although Tree Spirit snatched the right to activate, he didn’t immediately go to the Magical Energy Array. Instead, he threw a leaf, which transformed into numerous green tendrils in mid-air, like sprouting branches, swiftly weaving through the corridors into every room of the relic.

These green tendrils were Tree Spirit’s tendrils, allowing him to explore the surrounding changes in real time. By covering the entire relic with these tendrils, Tree Spirit wanted to see what changes might occur within the relic once the Magic Patterns on the door were activated and whether the hidden room would be revealed as a result.

After confirming that every step was correct, Tree Spirit nodded to Angel, and the green tendrils gradually extended towards the Trigger Magic Pattern.

As Tree Spirit injected energy into the Trigger Magic Pattern, the once dim Magical Energy Array instantly lit up.

The Magical Energy Array was clearly successfully activated!

Tree Spirit and Angel both eagerly awaited any follow-up events, with Tree Spirit distributing his consciousness across every tendril, prepared for any potential anomalies...

However, to their surprise,

there were no anomalies.

Just as Angel’s initial assessment, the Magical Energy Array was purely defensive. Even though it was successfully activated, it remained in a passive state unless attacked.

”Could it be... the mechanism must be triggered before it reveals itself?” Tree Spirit asked Angel, staring at the glowing Magical Energy Array on the door.

”Master Tree Spirit, do you mean that when an intruder triggers the defense mechanism, the relic wouldn’t retaliate but instead reveal a hidden room?”

Tree Spirit: ”...Perhaps the hidden room is very dangerous, meant to lure intruders inside.”

”If the hidden room is dangerous, then there shouldn’t be any exit passages there.” Angel replied, having previously deduced that there was a hidden passage, confirming that the hidden room indeed had an exit.

”Either way, we should give it a try first to see.” Tree Spirit insisted on triggering the mechanism to assess the situation.

Angel pondered for a moment and then approached the Magical Energy Array. ”I carefully examined the Trigger Magic Pattern during my repairs. Its danger is significant, but there shouldn’t be any trickery. Let me check again.”

Angel knelt down and began to re-examine each line of the Pattern on the door. His focus was not on the Magic Patterns he had repaired but rather on those that originally existed.

Seeing Angel so seriously inspecting the Magic Patterns, Tree Spirit said nothing more, standing behind Angel and waiting patiently.

Angel extended his finger, outlining the air along each Magic Pattern.

As time ticked by, Angel suddenly paused when he reached a corner of the Pattern.

”Hmm, here... there seems to be a repeated Connective Magic Pattern?”
