[Subscribe Please]_1 Jia Yan hovered in the air, eagerly watching the cyan grey pebble he’d just dropped vanish from sight.

It was falling towards the ground below.

Jia Yan monitored its descent with his compound eyes.

But after a while, a touch of disappointment appeared in his vision.

Given the time that had passed, the pebble should have reached the ground by now but there was no reaction whatsoever!

Jia Yan swooped down towards the ground.

Now the tedious part – searching for the tiny pebble in the vast wilderness.

Yes, Jia Yan was currently performing an experiment – a ‘throw’ of the cyan grey pebble.

If the pebbles, as he speculated, were indeed the energy source of the Metal Monsters, then the explosion these creatures produced in the end would surely originate from the pebbles!

It was now time for him to put his theory to the test.

If he was correct about the nature of the pebbles, then they should be pretty volatile at this stage!

If he could set off a successful explosion, then the might of the blast would replicate that produced by the Metal Monsters!

That was an explosive power Jia Yan truly feared!

“If my memory serves me right, during a previous attack, I managed to cut the heart out of one of those Metal Monsters.

It was killed instantly and couldn’t detonate itself, but its heart still exploded!

I was fortunate to escape the blast radius thanks to my supersonic attack or else I would’ve surely been affected!”

Jia Yan’s compound eyes darkened.

He couldn’t believe he could be wrong with his line of thinking!

The Metal Monster must have completely lost control over its heart, still it managed to detonate on impact.

He remembered hurling the heart with full force and it exploding on hitting the hard cemented ground.

Could it be the pebbles have a characteristic where they can explode through a severe impact even if they are not attached to the Metal Monsters?

If this characteristic is real, then Jia Yan’s idea of ‘Long Range Attack’ would definitely be based on these cyan-grey pebbles!

Although these pebbles might be related to the next phase of evolution and using them as ‘ammunition’ seems wasteful, if they make up for Jia Yan’s lack of long-range attack capability, then their use is certainly justified.

Especially given how much Jia Yan fears the Metal Monsters’ explosive power.

If he, too, possessed similar weaponry, it would be like trading a BB Gun for a cannon!

With this secret weapon in his arsenal, he would be unstoppable in future battles.

This easy-to-procure weapon doesn’t even require any refinement!

The advantages are manifold!

It’s hard to describe how perfect these pebbles are as temporary-long range weapons!

But his first trial was a failure!

Jia Yan was a tad disappointed, but he accepted that failure could be due to some other objective reasons, not necessarily a flaw in his theory.

“Probably it has something to do with the terrain too – this wilderness is too soft.

If the pebbles have explosive characteristics, they won’t explode that easily else the Metal Monsters would detonate quite easily and wouldn’t stand a chance in a fight.”

He hadn’t lost hope!

“Found it!”

After searching the wilderness for a while, Jia Yan managed to find the faintly glowing cyan grey pebble.

He picked up the pebble with his forefoot.

The pebble was so tiny that he had to be very careful picking it up with his now massive leg.

But that’s exactly what he needed!

If he had to carry heavy missiles like human fighter planes, it would be a huge burden on his ability to fly!

His agility and acceleration would greatly be compromised.

If he was dealing with these cyan grey pebbles though, things would be much simpler!

Jia Yan looked at the pebble in his leg.

Even though the first attempt had failed, he was more expectant of this object.

He took to the skies again.

“Since the first trial was a failure, I’ll try with a more forceful impact this time!” Jia Yan was lost in thought.

His speed increased!

He reached supersonic speed in an instant!

Then the Big Mosquito in the air flung the cyan grey pebble in his leg straight down!

The pebble, being thrown at supersonic speed, would descend at an alarming pace and even if it was a small ordinary stone, its destructive force would be terrifying – comparable to the power of a high-calibre sniper round!

Under Jia Yan’s eager gaze, the pebble that plunged into the wilderness below stirred up a series of fluctuations!

Then under changes that even Jia Yan couldn’t follow, it exploded completely!

A burst of Pure Blue Material Power was released!

This force turned blood red, seemingly due to some unfathomable chemical change that had been triggered.

The force was so strong that it caused an enormous explosion!

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!—

The ground of the wilderness lit up with bright blasts under the gaze of an expectant Jia Yan, followed by a major explosion!

The sky was filled with flames and plumes of smoke that rushed upwards, reaching the high altitudes where Jia Yan was hovering!

“Success!”

Jia Yan, hovering in the sky, looked at the scene below, his heart filled with indescribable joy!

The power of this explosion was no less than the self-detonation power of those metal monsters; it seemed to be even a smidge stronger!

“Perhaps the power of this explosion depends on how much of the azure color that cyan grey stone has.

If there’s not much, I estimate the power won’t be very large,” Jia Yan speculated.

Below, amid the massive explosion, a hurricane swept through the barren mountain, causing trees further away to sway chaotically.

An enormous hole, about seventeen to eighteen meters in diameter, formed on the ground due to the intense blast.

This power was somewhat terrifying, and the flame created by the explosion was the most dreadful thing.

Jia Yan hadn’t forgotten how he was scorched by the flame during the metal monster’s self-detonation, nor ignored the mysterious penetrating force that almost cost him his life!

And now, he had mastered that force!

Heat welled up in Jia Yan’s heart.

With this power, his long-range and group attack abilities had evolved significantly—it was a milestone-like momentous breakthrough!

Jia Yan began his journey home.

He felt excitement in his heart, but also a little calmness.

He thought, “I only have forty-one of these cyan grey pebbles.

They could help me in my next evolution.

I’d rather not lose the hard-earned pebbles so carelessly, unless absolutely necessary.”

Not to mention, using them to attack the metal monsters could potentially cause the cyan grey stones in the monsters’ bodies to explode as well!

Despite the seeming durability of the metal monsters from their previous encounters, the possibility was not zero.

He knew too well that this explosion attack was different from his sonic attack.

What if the monsters survived the explosion and launched a suicidal attack against him?

The more he thought about it, the more discrepancies he found.

Regardless, discovering the explosive feature of the cyan grey pebbles was a monumental breakthrough for him.

It provided a unique and flexible attack method!

Of course, the actual combat effect of this method would only become clear during real battles!

Jia Yan didn’t have many cyan grey pebbles left for further experiments.

He felt agony!

The explosion of that stone seemed to detonate inside his heart, causing him to bleed internally!

In just a few minutes, he was back on his home rooftop again.

This time, Jia Yan didn’t hear any sounds from his family, and all the lights in the house were off—his family was sound asleep!

“Sleep soundly, I will protect you all.”

Jia Yan, with his massive body, stood on the rooftop.

His six feet clutched the ground, and he gazed with his compound eyes at the gradually lightening horizon.

Dawn was breaking.

So much had happened overnight.

Jia Yan had just returned from the Wa Kingdom, but he had not expected to engage in intense battles immediately upon his return!

He was extremely tired; the battle against the squad of metal monsters almost exhausted his flying limit.

He knew very well that he could only fly for about half an hour, but the last battle, involving sonic flying, lasted nearly that long!

“Even though I really want to rest, a new day has already begun.

I have no choice but to take a brief nap.”

Jia Yan was truly tired.

Seeing the lightening sky, he reluctantly lay down.

Time didn’t allow him to sleep; all he could do was rest briefly by laying down.

The sun was shining brightly.

Today was going to be a beautiful, sunny day.

However, for the people bathing in the sunlight, their mood was far from beautiful.

At this point, the situation had become utterly chaotic!

Overnight, an even larger area of the vast human-controlled territory on this huge planet was lost!

Today, the media finally declared ‘The Third World War’ in newspapers and websites!

Yes, the threat posed by the metal monsters was being taken seriously all around the world!

The world dubbed this conflict as ‘World War’, marking the beginning of a decisive fight!

In the morning, over a dozen major countries finally announced that they were entering a state of emergency!

The Stars and Stripes Country, Huaxia, Russia, England, F Country, India, Wa Kingdom, Deutsches Reich…

One by one, countries announced the declaration of emergency.

Large troops began to assemble.

Some of the sensitive weapons that had been kept in storage were eventually put on the war weapons list!

The major countries began to exchange information more closely!

The world was about to change!
