Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Jia Yan slightly increased his flying speed.

Whether or not he returns to Huaxia doesn’t make much difference to him.

He’s just used to this country, and his parents are here, so it’s normal for him to return.

Jia Yan planned to find a sparsely populated place in Huaxia to temporarily settle down.

He felt that his recent mutation would take more than a few days to adjust to.

Although his body was now more rugged, some parts had not fully achieved the effects of the mutation and would require time for recuperation and repair!

After all, his body was no longer that of the small mosquito he used to be!

Although his mutation had taken quite some time—nearly a week—it was impossible to completely transform his now vast body into a different form in just one week!

He needed a little more time to fully assimilate the effects of this mutation!

This is why he had given up on the idea of continuing to explore the “Divine Object” in the Wa Kingdom!

Even if he found it and got another chance to mutate, his body had only just completed its mutation.

It was impossible for him to undergo another mutation immediately, so he might as well wait for a better opportunity!

So, Jia Yan intended to return to Huaxia to recuperate for a while.

Once he had fully digested the entire process of this mutation, he would then think about further strengthening his power!

The vast land in front of him quickly magnified in his field of vision!

Jia Yan’s compound eyes flickered.

As he was about to approach Huaxia’s land, he immediately lowered his flying altitude.

Most military radars have a height issue.

As long as the altitude is reduced to a certain level, it can evade radar detection, allowing him to return to Huaxia’s land undetected!

Jia Yan was a bit nervous.

He did not know if Huaxia had any mysterious radar technology that could detect his figure.

After all, his body wasn’t small, and if there was advanced radar technology, he might be spotted!

Fortunately, his flight was still undetected this time!

Jia Yan flew back to the Huaxia land he had been away from for a week!

It was still afternoon.

In the southern regions of Huaxia, the weather at the end of October was still rather hot.

The scorching sun shone overhead, and Jia Yan, who was fond of hot environments as a big mosquito, felt extremely comfortable!

The smell of the soil in his hometown was delightful!

Jia Yan bathed in this earthy fragrance and the comfortably warm sunlight, flying into the coastal region of Huaxia.

The southeastern coastal areas of Huaxia have always been prosperous historically, and this remains the case in modern times.

Allowing his body to coast at a low altitude for a moment, Jia Yan flew into a forest!

He decided to wait until nightfall to act.

After all, the afternoon was a time of frequent human activity.

Venturing out now would certainly increase the risk of being detected by humans!

Not far from where Jia Yan was hiding.

There was a small coastal village.

This small village was fairly affluent because of its proximity to the coast!

However, in this affluent village, screams suddenly echoed out!

Accompanying the screams was the sound of a massive explosion!

Red light flickered!

Boom, boom, boom!

——

Houses were flung into the sky, debris exploded everywhere, and shattered bricks scattered all around!

The screams came to an abrupt halt.

Then, a not too large metal machinery slowly emerged from the rubble of the ruined house, shaking its four legs and stepping out.

This was a village that had long been deserted.

Although it might have been a prosperous place in the past, it now appeared somewhat dilapidated.

The once independent small western-style buildings in the village had become ruins, and the various licensed small cars were broken and parked haphazardly.

This metal creature looked very similar to the one Jia Yan saw in Mount Fuji’s molten cave, except that the one under Mount Fuji had faintly glowing red “eyes”, and this one did not.

That was the only difference!

There were no other metallic monsters with this one.

After briefly inspecting its surroundings, it seemed to realize there were no other living creatures near it, it began to move its four legs and headed towards the edge of the village!

Not too far from this place, Jia Yan, whose ‘antennae ears’ had greatly improved since his mutation, heard the distant explosion and alertly raised his head!

After waiting for a while, hearing no other sounds, he crawled back into a protective position, puzzled.

“It’s not even the New Year yet, and people are already setting off such massive fireworks.

This truly is a Huaxia custom!”

Big Mosquito decided to take a well-deserved rest.

After all, having just completed its transformation and then undertaken such a long flight, it found rest to be of utmost importance.

Thus, Jia Yan gradually fell asleep amidst the sporadic sounds of explosions echoing in his ears.

He didn’t even consider that these noses were not from firecrackers, but actual explosions!

It had been a long while since Jia Yan had last dreamt.

Although he was a mosquito capable of sleep, his slumber was seldom untroubled due to his constant state of vigilance and danger.

However, now that he had become so powerful, this was the perfect time for him to get proper rest.

To neglect this opportunity would be a disservice to himself!

Under the warm sun, surrounded by the fragrance of plants, and the light scent of earth, it was perfect weather for rest!

Jia Yan quickly entered a state of sleep.

The distant sounds of explosions continued to echo incessantly.

Just like other countries in the world, Huaxia was similarly consumed by panic and strife!

Not long after the so-called ‘metallic monster crisis’ erupted in the Wa Kingdom, Tumen City, located on Huaxia’s northern border, was overrun by a swarm of metallic creatures that emerged from the underground world!

Upon seeing humans or any other form of life, these monsters would annihilate them.

The red laser-like weapons they wielded caused casualties with each bombardment!

The defensive capabilities of these creatures were outrageously powerful.

The majority of the weapons utilized by the military had no effect on them.

Although research had indicated that these creatures did have vulnerabilities, recognizing these vulnerabilities in actual combat was nearly impossible.

As a result, Huaxia was completely helpless against these monsters!

And it wasn’t just Huaxia, the entire world was helpless!

The formidable defence of these creatures, along with the devastatingly powerful laser-like weapons they carried atop their heads, made them a perfect fusion of the strongest offensive and defensive capabilities!

They had an exceptional individual combat power and didn’t rely on collective movements.

For reasons still unknown, these monsters would gather at a location for some time, then disperse, spreading their attacks and instigating chaos.

The Huaxia National Army had tried to capitalize on these gatherings by launching attacks using powerful weapons, a few days prior.

However, this tactic was utterly ineffective.

Due to the unique characteristics of these metal monsters, they rarely gathered in groups larger than a thousand in a small area.

Furthermore, a group of only a few could easily match the firepower of a hundred-man Huaxia Army combat squad without being at any kind of disadvantage!

If these small groups encountered formidable enemies, they possessed some kind of encrypted communication method that allowed them to summon more of their kind.

Thus, human combat squads could not engage these monsters in prolonged battles at one location, or they risked being overwhelmed by an incessant stream of these monsters, drowning any and all soldiers in waves of attacks!

The most significant military engagement in Huaxia took place two days prior!

At that time, more than three thousand metal monsters burst out from underneath a renowned natural cave tourist attraction, launching a brutal massacre on the unsuspecting tourists above.

At that very moment, a Huaxia military convoy, whilst en route to reinforce the northern frontline, happened to pass by the afflicted region.

The fully-armed soldiers hurriedly disembarked the train, ensuing an epic battle between a five-thousand-strong army and over three thousand metallic monsters!

This historic battle saw a total deployment of over twenty-two thousand Huaxia soldiers and over a hundred sorties by fighter jets!

The battle commenced during the day and lasted until the night of the following day!

The outcome was a complete defeat for the Huaxia National Army that fielded over twenty-two thousand troops!

Despite extensive bombings and airstrikes, only a little over three hundred of the three thousand metal monsters were eliminated.

Meanwhile, the Huaxia National Army suffered deaths and injuries of over four thousand soldiers, while the battle resulted in the obliteration of two cities!

The civilian casualties were countless!

A refugee crisis had begun to take shape.

However, unlike refugees from previous dynasties, these refugees had no idea where to go!

Countless metallic monsters seemed to have sprung up overnight in the Earth World.

Incomplete estimates put their numbers within Huaxia’s borders at around two hundred thousand!

Two hundred thousand incredibly formidable monsters!

Upon learning this number, both the authorities and public alike displayed expressions of dread.

Based on the attrition rate of the largest battle, it was estimated that at least three million Huaxia soldiers would need to sacrifice their lives to eliminate this army of two hundred thousand metallic monsters!

Does Huaxia have such a large army?

That battle involved some of Huaxia’s finest military units, fully equipped.

What would they do once the elite troops were exhausted, and the weapon quality degraded, in the ongoing war?

Furthermore, during that battle, the monster’s concentration resulted in an amplification of the effectiveness of artillery fire.

What would happen if the monsters dispersed instead?
