Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

181: Chapter 16: Slicing the Metal Monster!

[Seeking Subscription]_1 181: Chapter 16: Slicing the Metal Monster!

[Seeking Subscription]_1 The metal monsters scattered, proving incredibly tough to tackle.

There was a specific instance illustrating this!

Once, a unit was ordered to engage in a battle with a battalion of metal monsters in the northern land.

This unit only had five hundred people, but they were structured as an ‘artillery unit’!

The amount of firepower they had was truly terrifying!

This was a unit that, in a time of war, could not find the main force.

After all, Huaxia had been at peace for a long time, leading to units who, although they often participated in drills and training, would always make certain mistakes in a wartime situation.

This was inevitable!

Upon discovering about a hundred instances of metal monsters wreaking havoc on a certain northern village, this 500-man artillery unit immediately prepared for battle!

Fortunately, a grand evacuation of the people in the northern land had already been carried out, and the villagers had already withdrawn!

This unit was a ‘self-propelled rocket artillery unit’ with six, formidable 130mm self-propelled guns!

Naturally, as an artillery unit, their method of attack was using artillery!

At the beginning of the encounter, this artillery unit started their ‘enclosure-kill’ style attack on the hundred scattered metal monsters!

However, this continuous barrage from the powerful artillery upon these petite metal monsters had an utterly despairing effect!

In this occasion, because the metal monsters moved in clusters, the six guns only managed to damage three metal monsters in the time it took for the monsters to charge through the artillery attack into the unit.

Even the damaged metal monsters still had some attacking power left!

The red beams fired by the hundred metal monsters drowned the artillery unit entirely after two rounds of gun firings!

A battle of fire against fire, but the victors were still the metal monster battalion!

They could even be said to have won an absolute victory.

There was no suspense at all!

Even in terms of firepower, they couldn’t match the metal monsters!

Facing such a vast power gap, all of Huaxia chose to adopt a defensive strategy.

Only defending a few important cities, they vowed not to go into a fight with the metal monsters until a way to deal with them was found!

In such circumstances, the tragic state of places outside those big cities was imaginable.

The whole world was like this!

Right in the midst of this monstrous era, a giant mosquito monster seemed to be reborn from the sea and, tireless, traveled thousands of miles back from the country of Wa!

What change would this giant mosquito bring to the already rotten scenario?

Would it cause the situation to become even more chaotic, or better?!!

No one knew.

But given the current chaotic world, anything happening seemed not so strange.

Jia Yan took a short rest in a relatively quiet, sea-adjacent forest.

This sleep was necessary for him.

The night’s sleep relieves the fatigue that had accumulated due to mutation and the slight weariness from the constant journeying.

He slept till midnight!

Feeling refreshed and full of unprecedented strength!

“Okay, now should be the time when humans sleep most comfortably, I can set off!”

Jia Yan stood up.

His long six feet were like steel, each one propped to the ground, causing it to sink slightly.

Jia Yan’s weight at this time was definitely around a hundred kilograms!

And this was probably because he was a flying creature.

It was likely due to the instinct of biological evolution that his mutation-induced weight was controlled.

Otherwise, his hundred kilogram weight would have certainly increased!

To make this hundred kilogram body take flight, the flapping of wings required much more force!

Buzz buzz buzz!!!——

The sound of wing flapping grew louder.

Jia Yan’s figure gradually ascended, the sound of his wings flapping became much louder, and his acceleration speed was much faster!

Once a certain speed was achieved, his wings wouldn’t need to keep flapping, and he could glide through the sky, saving strength during flight!

But this flight wasn’t that simple to achieve!

Just as Jia Yan prepared to ascend higher into the sky!

Boom!

A dazzling red beam shot towards him from a short distance away in mid-air!

The speed at which the beam shot was absolutely very fast!

Moreover, this red light had a very familiar feeling!

As if seen somewhere before.

“It’s those metal monsters!” In a mere flash, Jia Yan seemed to immediately recall from fragments of his memory anything related to this red light!

This red light held a deep impression for him!

It was precisely the peculiar attack of the monsters arising from underneath Mount Fuji a few days back!

Jia Yan was taken by surprise, an absolute shock!

Thinking about it also, it was unsurprising – previously considered thousands of kilometers away, it was suddenly right in front of him and was even attacking in a sudden ambush.

Anyone else in his place would probably not be able to accept this for a while!

But he was, after all, not an ordinary mosquito, not even comparable to an ordinary human!

The current Jia Yan could be classified as a super mosquito who had been through many fights.

At this time, he had a strong intuition towards battle, an intuition that easily enabled him to instinctively face certain crises, even before his brain had time to react!

As the red light shot towards him!

There was a sudden flash in the eyes of the giant mosquito!

In that instant, his actions were faster than the turning of his head!

Flying in mid-air, his body abruptly came to a halt!

Then, he swiftly made a change of direction towards the ground!

His speed was smooth and flexible!

The red beam shooting towards him, akin to a fiery meteor shooting up from the ground, when Jia Yan had finished his evasive moves, had already reached him!

Zoom!!——

Jia Yan saw a fiery red light whizz past him!

Then, this fiery red object shot into the vast dark night sky, as if it could fly to the ends of the Universe!

The next moment, Jia Yan’s compound eyes finally resumed their normal expression from fright.

He turned his head back, focusing on the ground, at the metal monster looking up curiously.

The flying creature seemed to be a bit different from the weak creatures it had encountered before.

The metal monster was observing the Giant Mosquito Monster flying overhead, and Jia Yan above was also scrutinizing this suddenly appeared metal monster with his glowing compound eyes!

This monster is indeed very similar to the metal monsters he saw in Mount Fuji!

Its head too had the same hollow gun barrel which was shimmering with red light.

Apparently, the one that fired the red light before was this monster!

“How did it appear here?

What’s going on!” Jia Yan looked at this monster with compound eyes filled with doubt.

Could it be that this monster had followed him all the way from Mount Fuji to Huaxia?

No!

That theory doesn’t hold up!

There’s no reason for the metal monster to pursue him all the time, and the timeline doesn’t make sense either.

If these creatures had the ability to track him even in the sea, why wouldn’t they start the attack when he was mutating?

In fact, Jia Yan even believed that these guys’ intelligence wasn’t that high.

Then why did it appear here!

Right now, Jia Yan’s mind was in turmoil!

What he saw on the Small Islands of Wa country, and the worrying scene in his mind, were now being brought back.

Jia Yan finally felt something was wrong!

That is, the people on the small islands of the Wa country were cultivating, their looks gave off a vibe as if they were planning to settle down there for a long time.

It wasn’t as simple as sightseeing!

Jia Yan was surprised, could it be that Wa country had actually not eliminated the metal monsters from Mount Fuji, but were attacked by them instead?

But why did this monster appear thousands of kilometers away in Huaxia?

It doesn’t look like it had trekked from the Wa country!

Could it be…

Jia Yan had a rather unappealing thought in his mind.

Could it be that even Huaxia was attacked by these metal monsters, just like the Wa country?

Jia Yan’s guess was indeed very close to the truth!

This was the advantage that Big Mosquito had relied on for survival all these years.

It was also the most powerful aspect of it — that was its strong ability to analyze and reason!

Having deduced so many things and realizing so much, he had only spent two or three seconds!

As Jia Yan was still thinking.

The metal monster underneath fired another streak of fiery red light!

Boom!

The fiery light exploded!

Only then did Jia Yan realize that the sounds he heard while he was asleep were not the sounds of firecrackers, but the explosions caused by these metal monsters!

Although his mind was filled with thoughts, Jia Yan managed to move swiftly!

He continued to control his wings, making an evasive action in the air!

Once again, he easily evaded the metal monster’s attack.

“It’s my turn now!”

Big Mosquito paused in mid-air for a moment before launching himself!

Plummeting downward!

Jia Yan only felt his body moving at lightning speed!

After his mutation, his speed had undoubtedly been greatly enhanced!

As he descended from the sky, he was like a streak of lightning!

Cutting through the sky!

In a fraction of a second, Jia Yan had lunged forward with his compound eyes flashing a faint glow!

Splat!

His right forelimb fiercely plunged into the body of the metal monster!

The monster’s metal armor, which could resist firearms, couldn’t stop it!

Its strength that could battle armies was absolutely nothing in front of the Big Mosquito!

Splat, splat, splat!

Big Mosquito stirred its forelimbs!

The deadly knife-shaped chitin in the body of the metal monster ruthlessly churned!

Crack, crack, crack!!

The sound was unique, more like the metal-on-metal sensation, rather than two monsters’ exoskeletons clashing!

Jia Yan’s knife-shaped chitin had become extremely sharp!

In no time, it had dismembered the metal monster in front of him!

The monster’s armor that could resist bullets seemed to be of no use, it was directly sliced into pieces!

The armor made of metal from the metal monster turned into fragments and fell to the ground…

“I didn’t have a chance to see what you monsters are made of last time.

I’ll take a good look this time!”

While Jia Yan was slicing the gradually weakening metal monster with his knife-shaped chitin, he was fiercely thinking about it in his heart.
