[Subscribe Requested]_1 The people from Jia’s family were busy organizing their belongings inside the house while Jia Yan was deep in thought on the rooftop.

His greatest reliance was not on his power or his flight speed.

But it was on his defense!

Especially Bluish Defense.

This ability had granted him a survival ability that far exceeded other aspects!

However, his lack of diverse offensive tactics was still making him seem not as strong as he could be.

His current attack ability was basically close-range combat.

Compared to his current enemies like the Metallic Beasts who could use Red Light Attack before he got close and could even resort to self-detonation when he approached.

Because of these reasons, Jia Yan was desperately in need of a long range attack ability.

He didn’t need a close-range attack to be that devastating, a simple long-range attack would be good enough to confuse his enemies.

Thus, Jia Yan was ruminating over it.

Given his astounding physical fitness, he believed that he should be able to find a ranged attack method suitable for himself.

After all, a stone thrown out during supersonic flight is also supersonic, and is nearly as powerful as a bullet.

But when it comes to aiming, well, that’s another issue.

There are also a number of other problems, the biggest of which is that while this idea seemed good, against Metallic Beasts, it posed almost no threat!

After all, his targets couldn’t be killed by a single bullet, and Jia Yan himself didn’t need the power of a mere bullet to assist him!

After all, his strength had already reached such a height that things that once seemed threatening, such as a super-sonic sniper bullet, were now a joke, not just for him, but also for those Metallic Beasts!

So after thinking for a moment, Jia Yan gave up the simple idea of throwing supersonic stones in mid-air.

It was then that something about “small stones” sparked an idea in his mind!

“The Green-grey pebble, a vital core of the Metallic Beasts, doesn’t become useless after their death.

This thing also has an attractive force to me, suggesting that it possesses some energy!

No!

Maybe it’s not as simple as some energy!”

Thinking of one of the scenes he had witnessed before, Jia Yan felt even more excited!

His compound eyes lit up slightly as he took his notebook bag.

He took a green-grey pebble from the plastic bag and poured it out.

This green-grey pebble, which was overall faintly green, contained some bluish colors!

Its color easily reminded Jia Yan of the Bluish Defense on his body.

It was also because of this unique trait that Jia Yan became extremely interested in the Green-grey pebble.

And this pebble that he took out seemed to have a bit more bluish color than the other green-grey pebbles!

Its obvious bluish surface, which appeared to be in the green-grey surface along what looked like cracks is most unique.

They must be related to the Azure Material on his body.

Jia Yan looked at the Azure Cyan-gray Little Stone and felt an intense anticipation.

The more bluish the pebble, the more he craved it.

This pebble in front of him already stirred his underlying hunger to such tangible extents that he had to forcefully suppress it.

Now was not the time to indulge in devouring it, he needed to study this green-grey pebble.

“Let’s make a hypothesis first.

If this green-grey pebble truly has a connection with the bluish defense of my body, then it must possess some kind of energy.

Since it seems quite important to the heart of the metallic beasts, could it be the source of their energy?” Jia Yan mulled.

Despite his analysis being logical in some aspects, it had many loopholes!

If the pebble was truly the energy source, why would the metallic beasts leave behind the green-grey pebble after destroying themselves?

Why wouldn’t they destroy this seemingly important energy source along with them?

Unless faced with an extraordinary supersonic attack like that of Jia Yan, he didn’t think those metallic beasts couldn’t manage to do that.

“I presume they are the energy source of the metallic beasts for several reasons!”

“Firstly, those Metallic Beasts who self-detonated didn’t leave any traces of a green-grey pebble.

This either means the pebble was completely gaseous due to the explosion, or they used the pebble as an energy source and its energy was completely consumed during their self-detonation leaving no trace behind.”

“Moreover, the green-grey pebble seems to have a unique trait, which I’ve witnessed in the previous battle ….

However these are just my speculations, to validate my guess….”

“Why not just give it a try?”

Jia Yan’s compound eyes shimmered slightly with determination.

He didn’t know whether his guess was correct, but it wasn’t a big deal.

Whether the green-grey pebble had potent energy or the unique trait he speculated, he would know once he tested it!

Jia Yan stood up on the roof of his house.

His family members below seemed very tired due to their long hours of hustling.

After they finished organizing, they all went to sleep.

Carrying the green-grey pebble in his hand, Jia Yan opened his wings.

Silently, he flew up into the air, holding the pebble in his forefoot.

His figure disappeared into the early morning night sky.

The city of Tan City, which should’ve been quiet at this time, was filled with the refugees who had fled from nearby cities.

Some had fled from the nearest cities, some from far away places because the attacks by the metallic beast had no pattern, and their combat power was immensely strong.

Some cities, even though they had heard that the closest Metallic Beast was hundreds of kilometers away, were unexpectedly attacked by a squad of 200 metallic beasts the next day.

Such a roaming squad of 200 Metallic Beasts could easily determine the fate of a city!

When they attacked, it was far beyond the defensive capabilities of local armed forces!

That is why the survivors from that city turned into refugees, seeking shelter across the nation.

Of course, luck played a part, and realistically, the cities being attacked by the metal monsters were just a small fraction of the numerous cities in Huaxia.

Some people hadn’t even heard about the metal monsters’ attacks, for them, it felt as if it was someone else’s problem.

The unfortunate ones not only had their hometowns attacked, but before they could rely on their friends and relatives, their cities were also assaulted.

After several instances of fleeing, they began to think that there was no safe place in this world!

Now, it’s been exactly one week since the metal monsters started attacking Huaxia!

Up to fifty cities, county-level and above, in Huaxia have fallen!

Is it a lot?

Not really, considering the scale of Huaxia, with more than five thousand cities at the county-level and above.

However, it can’t be considered less either!

The residents of fifty cities have now turned into displaced people.

Some were able to flee to their friends and relatives, but even more had nowhere to go, and couldn’t save any of their possessions.

They are just getting by, thousands, even millions of them, are hungry and homeless!

So many homeless people, the ensuing catastrophe has affected the whole of Huaxia!

Jia Yan at the moment was flying over Tan City, a city which essentially was under threat.

The citizens had already heard about the fighting on the outskirts of the city, and they were extremely nervous, especially the experienced refugees who were already packing their belongings.

People believed that although the first wave of metal monster attacks had arrived, the next one will come soon, and they doubted that the Giant Mosquito Monster would help the humans of the city.

Therefore, they thought it’s best to prepare for a quick escape!

Many people, like the Jia family, had already packed their luggage.

For safety, they had to prepare to abandon their hard-earned homes.

Jia Yan looked at the scene below and sighed heavily.

The pain of the common people during a disaster is indescribable.

There are just so many stories here.

But Jia Yan could not manage so much.

All he could do was try to take care of his own family.

The giant mosquito’s body was even spotted by a few humans.

They pointed towards the sky, but by the time others looked over, the giant figure had disappeared into the night!

At this early morning hour, the moon was hiding behind the clouds!

In the darkness, it was hard to make out Jia Yan’s appearance!

But he did not fly far.

After all, Tan City was still in a state of turmoil.

Even without the metal monsters, there were too many dangers threatening his family.

Therefore, he naturally wouldn’t go far away.

He flew to a mountain deep in the wilderness, not very far from the city.

In this wilderness area, not a single person was in sight.

Using his heat detection ability, Jia Yan couldn’t spot a human trace either.

He then took out the green-grey pebble he brought along.

The pebble was still glowing faintly, and there was no telling what was coming next.

At this moment, Jia Yan’s wings started to flap rapidly.

In no time, his speed reached about 500 kilometers per hour!

This speed may seem slow compared to Jia Yan’s current maximum speed, but in reality, it was extreme.

The stone thrown with this speed wasn’t much different in momentum from a bullet!

Jia Yan was in mid-air, his eyes fixed on the barren mountain below which was devoid of any trees due to extensive logging by humans.

He vaguely remembered, when he was a child, his mom would take them siblings foraging for wild vegetables here.

Back then, the area used to be like a forest, but now, it had become a barren hill.

However, now it served as a perfect testing ground for him!

Time to verify his hypothesis!

Whoosh!

When Jia Yan’s speed reached about 500 kilometers per hour, he threw the green-grey pebble!

Whoosh, whoosh!!

The green-grey pebble made a sharp noise as it raced downwards!

It quickly disappeared from sight!

Jia Yan’s compound eyes glowed ominously, keenly observing the falling green-grey pebble.

“Whether I can confirm my suspicion or not, I’ll find out now!”

He was slightly looking forward to it.
