Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5284: Regrouping?

Luo Tianming.

Davis recalled the scholarly-looking person. He wore a white robe beneath an outer crimson alchemist robe. His hair was a mystifying white as it shimmered in different shades while his pupils were golden.

This alchemy expert, who had been trapped in the White Mist Hydra Mountain Cave, a secret realm, was a person who had been stripped of his great destiny. He belonged to the Dragonheart Battle Sect from the Celestial Transcendent Greater Realm. Sect disciples from this apex major power were all called battle-hardened alchemists, so Luo Tianming should be no different.

Davis was interested in this person a lot.

If he could find out how this person’s destiny was stolen, he imagined he might be able to improve his own ability to manipulate fate.

He still could feel that thrilling emotion of attacking the Desolate Era’s Source, making his heart throb. He had somehow made the universe listen to his machinations from tripping the leg of a maid. If he told anyone about this kind of jump, they would surely look at him like he was a madman.

Naturally, he wasn’t arrogant enough to believe he had changed his fate because all he did was give the universe what it wanted.

He had sliced through the Desolate Era with a technique using Level One Obscure Intent of Scythe Laws that almost reached Level Two Obscure Intent, allowing him to overturn and flip the Desolate Era into a Golden Era. It goes without saying it wouldn’t have worked, but that was where he used the fate ability to subtly influence the universe.

When every condition aligned, the universe had no choice but to support his move and even went as far as to acknowledge him.

He had never expected the latter, much less the former, to succeed, but it was well worth a try.

He relished this sensation of being one with the world and held it to heart. Even now, he took a deep breath with a deep smile on his face, inhaling the heaven and earth energy that got absorbed into him without any restrictions or limitations. It finally made him feel like he was a welcome being in this world.

’Although... it might not last long... and my time is limited...’

Davis’s smile turned wry as the recollection of Sky Word Emperor and the moon gates made his mood turn sour.

Nonetheless, he didn’t let it keep him frustrated.

Using the Temporal Voidplane Ring, he sent the soul body hurtling towards the Hexadra Clan’s territory once he was at a diverging point to go between the rendezvous point in the west and the Hexadra Clan’s territory in the north.

With Illumina pregnant, he didn’t take the chance to go by himself and leave her behind or even go along with her. His priority was to regroup with the others as soon as possible and then store the World Hegemon Grade Treasures into the Temporal Voidplane Ring before they could lose any more of their spiritual essence and finally leave this realm.

His avatar had learned a few techniques from Ophirya Kaelis, but at his proficiency level, he doubted it would be of help to him to shake off those karmic gazes.

”Master, how did that roc still agree to work with you even after knowing you’re a Desolate Divergent?”

From the cabin, Illumina opened the door and approached him while holding her stomach. There was already an imperceptible minor bump, making Davis wonder how many children she was going to carry. He wished it was not more than two. Otherwise, he would have to reconsider sleeping with Illumina or doing it raw.

”I forbid you from calling me master- at least for the remainder of your pregnancy.” Davis said firmly but then added softly as soon as he saw Illumina turn around to leave.

Illumina turned around to look at him with a pout, ”You are not allowed to remove me from my position as a battle maid. I will forever be a warrior who serves under you, my love and master.”

Davis’s gaze was warm, ”You can still have your position as a battle maid and also be my wife.”

”It doesn’t work that way.” Illumina harrumphed.

Davis raised his hand, pointing at her.

”Illumina, you’ve grown too bold after having my child.”

”I’m now an imperial consort who carries the Emperor’s child, so naturally, I have to be dignified and even boldly advise the Emperor if need be, lest the child’s health is endangered.”

”Imperial consort...?” Davis made a helpless expression.

Illumina had been a royal guard for the Lunarisse Family for a long time, so naturally, her mindset still carried a firm hierarchy even if she was slowly fitting into the Davis Family. Otherwise, she still wouldn’t be calling him master.

But for some reason, he was lacking the urge to change this behavior because, on one side, he enjoyed it very much.

This loyal rabbit’s lovable emotions towards him were not a class of their own but were unique and had their own charm. This was because if he sent her to die, she would do so gladly, while others may not do so. Instead of devotion of a wife, her loyalty as a warrior knew no bounds.

But evidently, he could tell that this emotion had decreased after she had gotten pregnant, rightfully so since the child took priority over everything else.

Illumina coyly nodded at the title of ’imperial consort’ as she neared him and held his arm, ”So why did that dumb roc decide to be our ally? Isn’t letting her go to Jiayi Crystalveil after making her King-Tier a bit dangerous?”

”It’s rather simple.” Davis said as he raised his hand and stroked his chin, ”I’m extremely handsome.”

”Yes~ My master is the most handsome~” Illumina happily replied, her lips curling wide and her firm voice turning sweet and melodious.

”... Uh, yes.” Davis expected her to retort, but seeing her agree, he was taken aback before nodding smilingly, ”But the true reason she joined us is that she had already taken a step forward and placed the Eternal Nightshade Moonflower in my hands, tying karma just like she had said to me about how she would curse me. She knows she is screwed if she tried to leave now. Misfortune could befall her when dealing with a Divergent, and there would be plenty of people pointing fingers at her to eat her whole if she goes back to the Greater Realm, so she has little choice but to support me. A True Exalt Beast who had screwed up like her is just the feast World Hegemon characters who have lived long are looking for, and she knows that very well.”

”...” Illumina shuddered ever so lightly.

She could not forget this was a human galaxy. There could indeed be many dark undercurrents under the light.

The Upper Realms were controlled because there was a limit and agreements between all the ruling powers, but in the Greater Realm, what kind of limit was there...?

Davis continued after a pause, ”Moreover, it’s obvious the matter about the Golden Era is making everyone second guess about my intentions, not to mention my reputation for maintaining my words is already not bad thanks to the Celestial Transcendent choosing to trust my words and form a Covenant.”

”Didn’t both sides break it?” Illumina asked.

”Indeed. That was a restrictive Covenant. The Celestial Transcendent broke it first by descending on Myria’s tribulation, and I broke it by entering the Upper Realms, and the Heaven’s Warriors broke theirs by attacking me before the time was up on another agreement. These are all created with the expectation of having it broken at some point. After all, we’re on opposite sides and can’t live under the same sky as long there’s Heaven’s Will forcing them. It was a game of chess.”

”... I see...” Illumina blinked, not understanding. She wasn’t good with complex stuff, but she could follow commands and set things straight very well.

Davis chuckled.

It was because the major powers knew he would let go if he said that he was letting them go that they weren’t going all out against him and were waiting for Heaven’s Warriors to make a move so they could minimize their losses.

Otherwise, Davis would truly be hard-pressed to fight against all sides from the beginning.

Nonetheless, recruiting Exawelese Skylov wasn’t difficult since, on the surface, she would only be hired by Jiayi Crystalveil. They couldn’t directly touch her and would have to go through Jiayi Crystalveil, who had gained power in her True Peak Emporium and was sitting amongst the top. She had the necessary bearing and authority to even ascend and take care of the affairs of the True Peak Emporium in the Greater Realm.

These were all good things for Exawelese Skylov, so how could she deny this opportunity?

He helped Illumina understand while Epsila also occasionally chimed in for no reason, making the conversation funny but informational, before finally reaching the rendezvous point.

While he and Illumina arrived before a valley and reached an obsidian palace, the soul body shot towards the Hexadra Clan’s territory and appeared in the skies above. He waited for some time before the messaging talisman he gave to Luo Tianming began to glow.

”Oh...! Great, you picked it up. I thought you weren’t in this realm anymore, much less this region...”

Luo Tianming’s voice echoed out with some joy, making Davis a bit amused as to why. But then-

”Brother...?”

A familiar female voice echoed, causing Davis’s expression to freeze.

Clara!?
